Over in Paradise Gardens Park at Disney California Adventure, Goofy’s Sky School had only a 5-minute wait on our most recent visit, so we hopped on to see what COVID-19 safety measures are in place. A hand sanitizer station is available at the entrance to the queue. Physical distancing markers are placed every 6 feet to show guests where to wait. Admittedly, we were a little nervous about taking flying lessons after seeing Goofy’s permit was for a chicken farm. […]

Disney World Guests kicked out after not complying with mask policy

Rules are rules. One group of Guests did not take them too seriously, and they were removed from an attraction after an altercation with Cast Members. Mask Policy For many months, the mask policy at Disney World was simple: everyone must wear a mask at all times unless you are eating, drinking, swimming, or in […]

Web Sling into a New Season’s Style

A brilliant wave of new merchandise has hit the shelves in anticipation of the next wave of Marvel-inspired improvements on Disney property. It was expected that Disney wouldn’t miss on a chance to capitalize on this momentum with Avenger’s Campus opening on June 4th and the new Spider-Man ride “WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure“, and they did not disappoint.

The soul stone of this whole sweep of merchandise is the interactive hand gear designed as both a souvenir and an integral part of the new experience coming to Disneyland. The new ride promises to recognize hand gestures and body movements to make guests part of the ride. I’m imagining a combination of Ninjago from LegoLand and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin brought into this era of technology! It all begins with a base of WEB power bands that guests can build upon to make both their WEB tech and ride experience unique.

There is a variety of customization for the tech, all inspired by heroes like Spider-Man, Ghost Spider, Iron Man, and Rescue. I’m not sure if I’m excited for how unique each blaster makes the experience or dreading the fact that I know I’m going to need each one to feel complete! These hero-inspired customization patterns do not stop at the slinger though, Disney has released another collectible and we will see if it meets the same wild fanaticism as the merchandise surrounding Grogu (Baby Yoda).

Each of these little “battle bots” is inspired by Iron Man, Black Widow, Black Panther, and even Ant-Man and The Wasp, but Disney has teased that there will be more to come! Which are you hoping to see?

Disney understands that the key to a truly successful souvenir is your ability to show it off for all to see, and they look ahead by supplying the perfect way to tote along with your sidekick. A custom Avenger’s backpack has an attachable web based holder, to safely carry the bot or anything else you might need.

Follow that up with a pair of high-tech goggles with 17 unique digital expressions…

Some new and adorable Pop! collectibles…

And Disney has a sure-fire win with this new season of style to go along with their grand openings!

What are you most excited to get your hands on when you head off for your superhero education on the Avengers Campus?

NEWS: BIG Room Changes Coming to the Grand Floridian in Disney World

We’re seeing quite a few changes to Disney World’s hotels!

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa

As hotels like Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn prepare to reopen, others like Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Contemporary Resort are undergoing refurbishment. And now, over at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, some BIG changes are underway.

The Grand Floridian is a Disney Vacation Club Resort, which means it has a group of villas set aside for its DVC members. And today, Disney announced that they are expanding these offerings! One building of hotel rooms will be converted into Villas for DVC guests.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

Starting in spring 2022, Big Pine Key (that’s Building 9!) will be transformed into 200 Resort Studios, which will open in summer 2022. These studios will accommodate up to 5 guests apiece.

Terri Schultz, Senior Vice President of the Disney Vacation Club, shared, “This is great news for Disney Vacation Club and our Members. It will provide us with new and diverse inventory at a resort that is cherished by our Members and their families.”

Grand Floridian Lobby

The Grand Floridian currently has 100 DVC rooms as a part of its Villas, ranging from Deluxe Studios to 3-bedroom Grand Villas. These 200 additional studios will triple the hotel’s options for members. However, they will also reduce the options for normal rooms, potentially making reservations for non-DVC guests harder to snag. You’ll want to keep that in mind if you’re planning a stay here once construction begins next spring.

We’ll keep you posted with any more updates, so stay tuned to DFB!
