TIMEKEEPING: 1989 – Disney-MGM Studios, Typhoon Lagoon, Pleasure Island, The Wonders of Life and More Open!

20-1989

If any year can rival 1971 or 1982 as the most seminal in the history of Walt Disney World, it would be 1989. A new theme park, water park, and entertainment district added three new, separately ticked offerings to the resort. The company also did this without neglecting their existing assets, as both Magic Kingdom and EPCOT Center would see new attractions. This was a point at which a vacation at Disney World could easily become a week-long event. The […]

BIG Update! Space 220 Just Took a Big Step Towards Opening

EPCOT’s been undergoing some MAJOR construction lately, but there’s one project that we’re still waiting on.

Yup, remember Space 220? Disney announced a WHILE ago that this restaurant would pop up near Mission: SPACE, and we’ve been eagerly awaiting those internationally-inspired eats. There have been quite a few delays, but we’ve got a sign that this spot may FINALLY be opening…because they’re hiring, big-time.

Patina Restaurant Group, the restaurant that owns Space 220, is hiring for SEVEN different jobs: Bartender, Cook, Food Runner, Host, Server, Restaurant Cashier, and Busser.

In fact, the Patina Restaurant Group website has a whole page dedicated to its Space 220 jobs, sharing a summary of the restaurant and inviting potential employees to “Prepare for Takeoff.” And boy are we excited!

Clicking on any of the jobs will bring you to a more detailed description of the position.

We’ve previously seen job applications for a Front of House Manager, Restaurant Manager, and Bartender, as well as for a Pastry Chef. But these latest listings (especially because there are SO MANY of them) seem like Space 220 may really be preparing for its big opening! Do keep in mind that Disney has not announced an official opening date — but we’ll be sure to keep you posted when they do! Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news.
