PHOTOS: Super Silly Fun Land Reopens With No Water at Universal Studios Hollywood

super-silly-fun-land-0

The Super Silly Fun Land play area has reopened at Universal Studios Hollywood in the park’s Despicable Me area. Unfortunately, all of the play area’s water effects remain off for now. Without the water, Super Silly Fun Land looks a bit underwhelming, but there are still spots for kids to play. And there are some great Minion photo opportunities. There are mesh stairs for kids to climb. Super Silly Fun Land has benches throughout for parents to sit on while […]

universal-studios-florida-tokyo-summer-olympics-big-booth-10-4767261

Universal Studios Florida is celebrating the Tokyo Summer Olympics with a miniature food “festival,” and we’re on a mission to try the new menu items. Today, we stopped by the largest booth to try some sushi rolls, gyoza dumplings, and takoyaki puffs. Let’s check it out! This booth is two tents, likely because of the size of the menu. You can find them at the edge of the music plaza, opposite the stage. Takoyaki Shrimp Puffs – $7.99 Grilled shrimp […]

Everything You Need to Know About Renting Wheelchairs and Scooters in Disneyland Now

Disneyland Resort is open again, but some things are different at the parks due to the ongoing pandemic.

It’s a great day to go to Disneyland!

One of the differences is that trams are not currently running between the Mickey and Friends parking structure and the main park gates of the Disneyland Resort. Guests have to walk from where they leave their vehicles to the entrance of the parks, and it can be a bit of a hike! For guests that need extra assistance such as a wheelchair or scooter, one of the locations to rent these devices has changed!

You can now rent wheelchairs, electric convenience vehicles (scooters) and strollers on the bottom level of the Pixar Pals parking structure

Rental Area in Mickey & Friends

The parking structure location is way more convenient if you’re parked in the garage, as you don’t have to walk alllll the way to the entrance of the parks to get the device you need!

Rental Prices for Strollers, Wheelchairs & ECVs

The Mickey & Friends rental area can be found inside of the parking structure by following the various signs pointing you in the right direction. You’ll come across the rental area before you go through security on the right hand side as you enter the parking structure.

This way to rent scooters!

If you do not park in Mickey and Friends and instead enter security via Harbor Boulevard, the normal Stroller Shop rental spot next to the Disneyland gates is still open as well.

Stroller Shop

Keep in mind that the Mickey & Friends rental location is only temporary, as it’s available right now while the trams aren’t running! A Cast Member told us that if the trams start running again, the rental location in the parking structure will likely close and guests will instead ride the tram to the esplanade and rent their device at the Stroller Station by the Disneyland gates, as they did prior to the closures.

In the meantime, devices can be picked up and dropped off at either location!

Drop off you wheelchair here!

Both locations open 1 hour before the parks open, which should give you plenty of time to get the device that you need to have a great day at Disneyland or Disney’s California Adventure! However, the earlier you get to the rental stations the better, as ECVs tend to run out early, especially in the summer!

Disneyland

Here’s a look at the current pricing.

Stroller Shop price list

Once you rent the wheelchair or scooter, you can head on over to guest relations to find out which rides you can access using the exit, standby, or which attractions you will need a return time for. A Cast Member told us that most of the queues for attractions at California Adventure ARE wheelchair accessible, but in Disneyland, it depends a bit more, so make sure you find out before going into the park!

Having both of these rental locations should make it a whole lot more convenient for guests to grab a scooter, wheelchair, or stroller before heading into the parks for the day if you end up hiking from Mickey & Friends!

REVIEW: Is A Disneyland Corn Dog Even Better With BACON KETCHUP?

Disneyland knows how to create some interesting — and often, controversial — snacks.

Corn Dog Time!

Sure, we love those iconic snacks like Churros and Mickey beignets, but we’ve always been intrigued with those snacks that make people lose their minds, like the Pizza Bloody Mary or the Pickle Corn Dog.

So when we heard about a new and interesting condiment at Disneyland, we knew we couldn’t miss out. And so we give you…Bacon Ketchup. Okay, so this isn’t necessarily new — it was at the Little Red Wagon at Disneyland pre-closure. But we haven’t tried it, until now!

Corn dog with bacon ketchup

Bacon Ketchup is one of the sides you can dip your corn dog in!

Bacon Ketchup

We tasted mostly ketchup, although you could sort of taste the bacon mixed in. The flavors worked really well together — the sweetness of the ketchup with the savory flavor of the bacon was pretty tasty. But you know us, we are almost always going to want MORE BACON, and that’s the case here. Bacon-lovers will enjoy this dip since it leaves a pretty strong bacon aftertaste!

Let’s get to dipping!

Of course, if you like dunking your corn dogs in ketchup, this is a must-try! So if you happen to be at Disneyland, you can try it for yourself — It’s $9.79 for the corn dog and an additional $1.19 for the side of Bacon Ketchup.

And we’ll keep trying everything at Disneyland to let you know what we think!

A popular Universal Orlando Resort experience has increased its capacity. Ollivander’s Wand Shop in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter increased capacity limits today. Let’s take a look. A line quickly formed outside Ollivander’s in Diagon Alley. Physical distancing markers are still in place in the outdoor queue. The previous reservation system is no longer being used. REVIEW: A New Disney World Treat is a Fan-Favorite Dole Whip in Disguise!

This weekend marks the official beginning of summer, and yes, it’s really starting to feel like summer here at Disney World (it’s hot, y’all).

Trilo-Bites

And we’ve already started to indulge in some summery treats including a Watermelon Dole Whip, a Memorial Day cupcake, a 70’s-inspired cocktail, and ice cream from the new ice cream shop at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn! But we just found a new summertime treat today that actually TASTES like summer!

This new snack is called the Trilo-Bites Twist, but don’t let the name fool you — because it’s a Dole Whip! Well, technically, it’s Orange Dole Whip swirled with Vanilla Soft-Serve Ice Cream.

Introducing the Trilo-Bites Twist

And yes, we’re totally getting Creamsicle vibes here! The Orange Dole Whip mixed with the vanilla was exactly like the Dole Whip Orange & Vanilla Swirl we’ve had before — not to be confused with the tart Citrus Swirl at Magic Kingdom’s Sunshine Tree Terrace.

Delish!

The vanilla ice cream is also colored green, which makes it bright AND fun! This tasted like a creamsicle in a cup! If you like Orange Dole Whip or you’re a huge creamsicle fan, you’ll love this swirl. It’s a perfect snack in the Florida heat, but you’ll want to eat it fast before it melts! The Dole Whip is super refreshing and one of the few places you can grab it in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Pretty swirl

You can pick this treat up now at Trilo-Bites at Disney’s Animal Kingdom for $4.99. And if we spot any other new summer snacks, you can count on us to let you know how they are!

5 Quotes from Disney’s CEO About the Future of the Parks

For the last year and a half, the Walt Disney Company has had to contend with a surprising number of challenges.

Disney CEO Bob Chapek

Now, as health measures start to lift and health officials begin to okay something of a return to normal, Disney executives, Disney employees, and Disney guests alike are looking to the future of the Disney parks. We are checking out a few recent quotes from Disney CEO Bob Chapek as Disney continues to work through this time of change. So, what does Chapek have to say about the future of the Disney parks?

1. On In-Park Experience Changes

This first quote came during the J.P. Morgan Global Technology, Media, and Communications Conference. Chapek was talking about Virtual Queues, Mobile Order, Mobile Check-in, and other technology-based tools for guests.

Rise of the Resistance

He said these tools are “likely to impact their [Disney’s] prospects going into the future.” During this call, he also called Virtual Queues a “guest experience lever” to help with long lines and high-demand attractions.

Mobile Order Wait

Ultimately, the thought is that these tools help guests to have a better time when they’re in the parks. Of course, these quotes are on the vague side, but it could mean we’ll see Virtual Queues, Mobile Order, and Contactless Hotel Check-in stick around in the long term.

Click here to learn more about the future of these offerings!

2. On Future Demand Levels

Chapek has also recently made comments about demand going forward, especially in the immediate future. During an interview on CNBC’s Fast Money segment, Chapek said, Our demand, for example, at Walt Disney World is already back to 2019 levels in terms of forward bookings…That’s all going to pay big dividends for us and our shareholders going forward because they’ve got confidence in Disney and they can’t wait.”

Magic Kingdom

Later, in the Q2 Earnings Call for the Walt Disney Company, he said, “We’ve got plenty of demand.”

EPCOT

These quotes seem to indicate that the financial outlook for the Disney parks is a positive one despite the fact that they’ve lost billions of dollars over the last fiscal year. With demand in good shape, we may continue to see Cast Members called to return to work and capacity increases — as long as guests and Cast Members can remain safe.

3. On Returning Cast Members

Speaking of returning Cast Members, during the Earnings Call, Chapek noted that the loosening of mask mandates in the Disney parks will be a driver of demand. He said, “So we think that’s going to make for an even more pleasant experience. And we believe that as we’re now bringing back a lot of people back to work, that it’s going to be an even bigger catalyst for growth in attendance.”

Pandora

This quote indicates not only optimism in the return of guests to the park but also optimism in the return of Cast Members. Chapek, of course, does not make any promises or go into specifics, but this could mean that Disney’s Cast Members will continue to be called back in the coming months.

To see more context for these quotes, click here!

4. On Park Capacity Levels

Another quote from the Earnings Call indicated that capacity will be increasing over the coming months. Chapek noted that there would be “an immediate increase in the number of folks that we’re able to admit into our parks through our reservation system.”

Toy Story Land

This may mean that we will continue to see a steady increase. Of course, a positive consequence of that is that there will be more Disney Park Pass reservations available. Higher capacity may mean larger crowds, but it also means more flexibility when planning your Disney vacation.

Click here to learn more about the raise in capacity!

5. On a Disneyland Annual Pass Replacement

Chapek also indicated during the Earnings Call that there is a new offering underway to give Disneyland guests a replacement loyalty program after Disneyland Annual Passes were discontinued

Sleeping Beauty Castle

He said, “And as you all know, we ended our current annual pass program at Disneyland, and that gives us a chance to sort of create a modern version of a park loyalty program, an affinity program that isn’t necessarily governed by legacy.”

Disneyland

Disney has yet to announce what this new program will look like but it certainly is an exciting update for the future that a new program is coming. We will be keeping an eye out for information about Disneyland’s new program so that you can be in the loop too!

Overall, the Walt Disney Company does tend to keep things close to the chest until they are ready to announce changes. So, we’ll be keeping a very close eye out for updates about the Disney parks. As always, stay tuned for all the latest on the Walt Disney Company.
