Love Weighted Blankets? Then You’ll Want to See Disney World’s Newest Plushes!
It seems we find a new or cool piece of Disney merchandise nearly every single day!
Recently, the white Disney Crocs became available online, we found a t-shirt for Blue Milk fans, and a whole bunch of customizable, matching family shirts and hoodies became available online. During our recent visits to Magic Kingdom we also spotted some cool new Disney plushes with a secret. If you love weighted blankets, you’re going to want to check these out!
Some find the feeling of a weighted blanket to be incredibly relaxing. If you’re looking for a bit of that relaxation from a weighted item, but aren’t looking for a full blanket, Disney’s newest plushes might be just the solution!
We first found these plushes in the Emporium in Magic Kingdom. These adorable plushes may look ordinary at first glance, but they’ve got a (heavy) secret. Each one says it can provide “endless relaxation for you at home and beyond with a removable 2.5 LB weighted pouch.”
That’s right, each of these is actually a weighted plush. Our reporter said that they were actually quite heavy, and almost felt like they weighed even more than 2.5 LB. The weighted pouches are removable though, so if you don’t want to feel that weight, you can take them out.
So far, we’ve seen these weighted plushes released in designs for Mickey Mouse…
…Minnie Mouse…
…Winnie the Pooh…
…Eeyore…
…and Stitch!
We found all of those in the Emporium. We also later saw the weighted Pooh and Eeyore plushes in Hundred Acre Goods.
If you want to grab one of these, you can get them now for $39.99 each.
That’s definitely pricey for a plush, but given that they are weighted, that may make the cost worth it to you!
We’ll keep an eye out for more details, new Disney merchandise, and more, and we’ll let you know what we find. Stay tuned for all the latest Disney news!

Review: We’re Trying the New Starbucks FUNNEL CAKE Coffee in Disney World 🤤
What better way to kick off a day at Disney than with COFFEE?!
We love trying all the different specialty sips around Disney World — and that includes when we need our caffeine fix! We’ve sampled some truly unique coffees on property, so when we saw an interesting new flavor at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we just HAD to try it.
At Trolley Car Cafe (that’s the Hollywood Studios Starbucks!), you’ll find the Strawberry Funnel Cake Frappuccino. This weird-sounding drink is actually just a Frappuccino with funnel cake-flavored syrup and strawberry purée!
And if you think it sounds like dessert in a cup, you are CORRECT. This is not something we’d recommend drinking early in the morning when you actually need caffeine. It’s a fun, sweet afternoon sip! You can definitely taste the funnel cake, and the coffee flavor is basically nonexistent. Talk about a sugar rush!
If you like sweet drinks, this is definitely the choice for you! But if you want coffee that actually tastes like, ya know, coffee, you may want to skip this one. Or, you can add a shot of espresso to balance out that overwhelming dessert flavor!
You can snag a grande size of this sip for $5.79 at Trolley Car Cafe (or literally any other Starbucks). Enjoy your sweet treat, friends, and stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news!

REVIEW: A Disney Springs Bar ALMOST Made Us Forget Trader Sam’s Is Closed!
Disney Springs is a pretty cool spot to do some shopping, hear some live music, and grab a sip.
There are seriously SO many options for places to eat and drink in Disney Springs. From AMAZING desserts to boba teas, to some of our favorite restaurants; it can be pretty difficult to decide where to stop. Well, sorry, but we are making that choice harder with an unexpected bar that has SERIOUSLY stepped up its game.
Splitsville Luxury Lanes is Disney Springs’ resident bowling alley and can make for a very fun few rounds of strikes (or gutterballs). The food at this spot is surprisingly good, but what about the drinks?
Well, it’s pretty easy to find out now since Splitsville opened the walk-up Bamboo Bar last month. The menu was pretty basic (Not that we’re complaining… Have you ever known us to say no to a Dole Whip cocktail?), and now it’s been expanded to add some tantalizing options. And honestly, these options are so fun that they are helping to fill the massive Trader Sam’s hole in our hearts.
We’re trying one option that’s been at the Bamboo Bar since it opened and one that’s TOTALLY NEW to the menu! First up, the new one (duh). Take a look at the Frozen Flight for $16.
Yep, you’re seeing that right. That’s THREE frozen cocktails: the Pina Colada (Dole Whip, Coco Lopez, Bacardi Superior, and Rumhaven Coconut topped with a splash of Plantation Double Aged Rum), the Big Wave Dave (Vodka, grain alcohol, and raspberry), and the Rum Runner (151 Rum, blackberry brandy, Creme de Banana, pineapple, and lime).

It was kind of like drinking a boozy Blue Raspberry Icee. If that sounds like your jam, you might love it!
Next up, we sipped on the Zombie for $13. This is the one that is giving us serious Trader Sam’s vibes!! Talk about a classic tiki cocktail! In fact, this drink was created by the man credited with the launch of the tiki bar craze, Donn Beach.
Get ready for a bit of a remix on the classic with Splitsville’s signature seven-rum blend with fruit juices and spice-infused syrup.
This drink will KNOCK. YOUR. SOCKS. OFF. For the price, it is VERY boozy so we think it’s pretty fair. You can get the drink to go or in a refillable squeeze bottle, but if you drink at the bar you get more of the FULL tiki experience.
Drinking at the bar, the sip comes served in a classic tiki mug with a very adorable presentation. The top has little monkeys hanging out and a banana gummy! How awesome is that?
This drink is very, very good — like even your self-proclaimed tiki snob friend might be impressed. It’s strong and it tastes strong with delicious rum spice flavors blended in. Seriously, if you like a classic tiki drink, this could be the perfect option!
Wow! Did Splitsville’s Bamboo Bar step up its game or what? That’s pretty impressive for a bar that’s only been around a month. As always, stay tuned to DFB for all the latest reviews from Disney World!

Review: Magic Kingdom’s Most Charming Restaurant Got a Menu Revamp!
It’s amazing how many changes we’re seeing at Disney World, but our favorite changes are when restaurant menus get some new food because, hey, that’s MORE NEW FOOD for us to try!
So when we noticed a menu change at The Plaza Restaurant, we headed back there so we could do an ALL-NEW REVIEW to try the new items! And yes, we were literally JUST THERE last month, but new food means we need to try it out so we can let you know if it’s any good!
Atmosphere
The Plaza Restaurant is a sit-down restaurant at Magic Kingdom on Main Street, U.S.A. with a LOT going on for it. The food here is straight-up comfort food favorites, and the ice cream sundaes are a huge draw (especially with The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor next door still being closed).
So here we are, checking in again at the front — just like we did a month ago.
You can check out the menu outside before you go in.
Inside, there are two seating sections — the main dining room and the rotunda. It’s so very retro and Victorian and fits RIGHT in with the rest of Main Street, U.S.A.. One thing to note here is this restaurant is TINY. Like, she real small, guys. This spot is actually becoming trickier to score a reservation due to the small size! If you want to eat here, we recommend scoring a reservation before your trip.
Tables are spread out according to Disney World’s social distancing guidelines. The cozy dining room features tons of windows on one wall and mirrors on the other.
Well, the view of Cinderella Castle is pretty awesome, too. So we’re already starting our meal with a fabulous view!
The restaurant is using both QR code and paper menus. We used a paper menu to check out the beverage situation.
But what we’re here for is the NEW food! So let’s get started! The new Appetizers menu has added Seared Crab Cakes, Chili, a BLT Salad, and more. The Plaza Loaded Fries remain!
For entrees, the Plaza Burger is now the Main Street Burger, with some notable changes. A chili-topped Impossible burger also made the menu. The Cheesesteak is gone, replaced with a similar-but-different Roast Beef Au Jus. And finally, a Fried Chicken Sandwich made the menu!
For starters, we decided to try out the Seared Crab Cakes, which are served with an Apple Slaw for $10.50.
The crab cakes have a nice little spicy kick and were more meat than breading (and we’re not complaining!). There was also a nice creamy sauce mixed in that added a ton of flavor! They were a little small, but for the price they were enjoyable.
We thought the apple slaw might be kind of a weird flavor on a crab cake, but in the end, the bit of sour apple flavor worked well with the crab cakes. And it added a nice crunch to the overall texture. Wondering what those floppy pink things are on top? They’re watermelon radish slices. They just have a nice crunch and color — they don’t add much otherwise.
Then we tried the Chili, which is a Plant-based Pinto Bean Chili served with Cashew Cream and a Lime Wedge. We were actually surprised that it packed a little heat! Then when we added in the cashew cream, it was even better!
The lime, though, seemed unnecessary and didn’t add much to the flavor. We’d rather do without it.
The chili was also VERY filling and could have been its own meal. For being a plant-based food where the “meat” is typically the star, this succeeded incredibly well! We were very satisfied with the pinto beans and other hearty chili ingredients.
Now on to the entrees! The Fried Chicken Sandwich is brand new, so we gave it a taste! It’s Fried Chicken Breast, Pickled Onion, Cabbage, and Spicy Mayonnaise served on a Focaccia Bun. Of the two sandwiches we got (we’ll get to that other later…), this was our favorite — and several Cast Members told us they liked it, too!
Okay, so this sandwich is HUGE and the chicken stays crispy with each bite (no soggy chicken at the end of the meal here). The bread is nice and sturdy and the spicy mayo gives it a nice kick. Our ONLY complaint is that we would have preferred regular onions over the pickled onions. But overall, at $21, it’s a great addition to the menu.
Finally, we dived into the Roast Beef Au Jus, which is House-cooked Roast Beef, Caramelized Onions and Peppers, Horseradish Sauce on a Toasted Sub Roll, and served with Au Jus for Dipping.
This is similar to the Cheesesteak on the menu prior. Now, we’re always in the mood for a good French Dip, but in this case, the sandwich WITHOUT the jus was kind of bland. But after dipping it, it was pretty great.
We would also totally recommend asking for an extra side of the horseradish sauce because it was SO good. Overall, this sandwich is an improvement over the Cheesesteak we’ve had here before (and is no longer on the menu).
If you’re not a fan of French Dip sandwiches, this might not be the best pick for you (a lot of the flavor is hiding in that Au Gus). But if you’re down with a dippable sammie, you’ll likely enjoy this. The Roast Beef Au Jus is $19.
Nosh or Not
Hop on into this restaurant if:
- You want straightforward comfort food.
- You want that pristine Magic Kingdom dining experience — this spot FEELS like Main Street and the Castle views are killer.
- You’re looking for a cheaper sit-down meal. The prices here are on the lower end of sit-down options in this park, especially compared to the likes of Be Our Guest Restuarant or Cinderella’s Royal Table.
Skip this restaurant if:
- You want a more unique dining experience. Even with the new menu, the food here is pretty basic.
- You want a more unique atmosphere. Although the views are good, this place is pretty small and the vintage decor is more basic than other restaurants at Magic Kingdom like the much more “out there” vibes over at Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd., Skipper Canteen.
Overall
The Plaza Restaurant is one of those classics that you’ll want to dine in at least once. The nostalgic vibes here and reliable service and food keep us coming back. And if you can dine with a view of Cinderella Castle, really, what’s not to love? The vintage decor is always charming.
The food is not always outstanding, but it’s often quite good. This spot, like most, saw big menu cuts when the parks reopened last year. The new menu items have elevated it back up a notch, and we recommend trying them if you get a chance. The fried chicken sandwich is the stand-out here, but you can’t go wrong with either of the new sandwiches or the new appetizers. We’ll keep returning to Plaza for that quintessential “OMG, I’m in Disney World!” dining vibe it provides. Having some fun new menu items to nosh on certainly is a plus too!
