Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings addressed the latest COVID-19 data in a press release today. The county has maintained a 14-day COVID positivity rate of 4.7%. In Mayor Demings’ phased plan, a positivity rate of 5% or lower is required to eliminate all mask mandates. Mayor Demings did not officially remove the mandate in his press release, but is expected to do so next week. Earlier today, we confirmed that Universal Orlando Resort changed their mask policy to allow fully […]

Disney’s Cruella is now playing in theaters and streaming on Disney+ with Premier Access. Inspired by 101 Dalmatians, the film makes several attempts to pay homage to the animated classic, and also throws in a few trivia Easter Eggs for diehard Disney fans. Here’s what I spotted when I saw the film. Homages to Previous 101 Dalmatians Films […]
As renovations are underway at Sleeping Beauty Castle, cast members from Disneyland Paris were invited to create commemorative letters celebrating all the magic the resort has brought to cast and guests. During a virtual event called, “Part of my Castle,” the letters were locked in a special case and placed in one of the castle’s turrets.
It may still be May, but we’ve already got summer fun on the mind!
Polynesian Lobby
And we’re not the only ones! Disney World has already had some signs of summer popping up! We’ve already spotted a Memorial Day Cupcake today and now there’s ANOTHER Memorial Day treat!
We were strolling around Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort when we spotted a certain patriotic offering at Pineapple Lanai. Patriotic DOLE WHIP?
Firecracker Cone
Sign us up! Let’s try the Firecracker Cone!
Firecracker Cone
This treat is an upside-down cone filled with Raspberry Dole Whip and topped with Star Sprinkles and Popping Candy.
Firecracker Cone
And how did it taste? Pretty good! Raspberry Dole Whip is a winner in our books and that’s the star of this treat (well, besides the little stars at least). The cone added a nice crunch of course.
Firecracker Cone
What really makes this treat special is the topping. Sure, the star sprinkles are just a little snap, but the popping candy is a very fun and surprising addition as it pops in your mouth! It kinda feels like little fireworks! We like that this treat is patriotic without being too over-the-top.
Firecracker Cone
Avoid the Firecracker Cone if you don’t like Raspberry Dole Whip, but if you’re a raspberry fan, it’s worth the try!
Firecracker Cone
You can pick up the Firecracker Cone at Pineapple Lanai for $5.29. As always, stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney news and updates!

When could the parks reach full capacity again? Chapek said it depends on the park, but hinted that Disney World would likely reach full capacity by the end of the year. We’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for any significant updates on crowd levels in the parks as the situation changes so we can share them with you!
Recently, Chapek stated that these features are “likely to impact their [Disney’s] prospects going into the future,” and that virtual queues, specifically, are a “guest experience lever.” Sounds like you’ll probably be continuing to use your phone a lot in the parks (at least for now) for all these digital features, so be sure to bring those chargers!
For example, Star Wars Launch Bay is now available for guests to walk through, but it is no longer a relaxation station (meaning guests can still check out some of the exhibits, but they’ll have to keep their masks on).
Some social distancing markers are being removed, the “6-feet” requirements are being covered up on some distancing signs, select signs now remind guests to wear their masks indoors, and more things are looking different throughout Disney World.
Distancing Markers Removed on the Ferry to Magic Kingdom
We expect more changes will continue to be made as capacity continues to increase, distancing continues to gradually be reduced, and potentially new rules are put in place. Throughout any future trips to Disney World be sure to keep an eye out for any safety signage that may be near you to ensure that you’re following the updated policies at all times.

The Jurassic World Tribute Store opened in Universal Studios Florida yesterday and we’re making our way through the creative new treats available inside. We already hatched a chocolate egg and tried a pistachio puff, now we’re taking a bite of “fossilized amber.” These gummies are inspired by the fossilized amber seen in the first Jurassic Park film. John Hammond’s scientists used the mosquito to create dinosaur DNA. Fossilized Amber – $7.00 We were surprised by how much we liked this […]
