Hey there DFB readers, we’re back with another restaurant review!
Let’s EAT!
We’ve dined at every restaurant in Disney World, but we make sure to visit again and again to bring you the most up-to-date details and info. That’s especially the case when a restaurant reopens, and today we’re headed over to Hollywood Studios for such an occasion!
Fairfax Fare on Sunset Boulevard has officially reopened to park goers, and we’re thrilled to be back to enjoy our meal with a view of the hustle and bustle. Let’s get this thing started!
Atmosphere
This spot is located in the middle of Sunset Boulevard, the home of Tower of Terror, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, tons of shops, and a few other quick service dining locations. This little stand isn’t overly impressive or anything really special, but the big “pro” here is that you can grab your food and plop down at a bench with the perfect location for people-watching.
Y’all ready for this?
If you plan on dining here, Mobile Order should be your go-to. There’s a sign out in front of the stand with the ordering information, or you can find it listed as one of the choices in the My Disney Experience app.
Don’t know how to pull up Mobile Order? Check this sign out!
We placed our order in the app and were notified once it was ready. Today was a soft opening, so there weren’t any menus up at the restaurant, but we had quite the selection once we opened Mobile Order.

After you pick up your food, the condiments (like ketchup) were available in individual packets.
If you want ketchup…they have PLENTY.
We found a table nearby — the perfect spot to enjoy our meal. We’ve got quite the spread, now don’t we?!
Not gonna lie, this is a ton of food.
Now that we’ve got our food, drinks, and a comfy place to sit, it’s time to chow down!
Eats
Let’s kick things off with the Chicago-style Hot Dog Plant-based Salad for $11.49!
We’ll start light with a salad.
This salad is made with a plant-based bratwurst, Romaine lettuce, sweet pickles, tomatoes, poppyseed and celery seed brioche croutons, pickle relish, neon relish vinaigrette, sweet peppers, and mustard. That’s a LOT of ingredients, and boy does it look filling!
This plant-based brat was seriously good.
We were honestly surprised by how delicious the bratwurst was on this salad. The vinaigrette was nice and creamy, which worked really well with the many elements of this entree. This pick is basically all the fun of a hot dog but served in a more fun and creative way. It’s a really great choice for plant-based eaters!
Would we try this again? Heck yeah!
Now, let’s move on to the dogs…starting with the California BLTA Dog for $11.49.
That’s a lot of ingredients on one dog.
It’s an all-beef quarter pound hotdog with lettuce, tomato, avocado, and bacon — we’re talking actual BIG bacon pieces (YESS!). It’s also topped with housemaid black pepper mayonnaise and Cool Ranch tortilla chips, served on a brioche butter bun with pickled vegetables in a cup on the side.
This bun is packed with stuff!
Y’all. This was fun! It was really fresh, and the bacon and avocado mixed together was a big hit for us. The crushed chips on top added a little extra crunch, though we’re not sure the dog needed it. Same with the mustard. The household mayonnaise gave the hot dog plenty of flavor on its own, so it really didn’t need the mustard as well, but if you’re a big mustard fan you may appreciate that added flavor punch.
Not bad, my dude, not bad.
But, it’s also important to note those pickled vegetables specifically. They were pretty spicy (even without the jalapenos, they’d have some kick), but we thoroughly enjoyed them. Definitely a great way that you could take your dog to the next level.
Definitely say “yes” to the pickled veggies.
And if you thought that dog was crazy, just wait until you see the Truffle Bacon Macaroni and Cheese Dog for $11.49!
Cue mouth-watering goodness.
Served on the same brioche butter bun, you’ll find another quarter-pound hot dog, but this time it’s topped with macaroni and cheese and applewood-smoked bacon crumbles! This one also had mustard on top, but it made a lot more sense with the ingredients and actually added to the flavor profile as a whole.
They certainly don’t skimp on the pasta!
This Mac & Cheese Dog was definitely our favorite of the ones we tried today because it was all just paired so perfectly. The mac and cheese itself was served warm and SO creamy and that bun was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Every part of this dog just seemed to jive together really well!
This one’s definitely a crowd-pleaser.
And the last of the dogs was the Pretzel Dog for $11.49.
Remember when pretzel buns were super popular? Well, Disney’s bringing back the trend!
As you might’ve guessed, this dog is served on a pretzel bun! It’s topped with sauerkraut, which was probably our favorite part of the dog overall. The pretzel bun itself was pretty good, but it kept absorbing the sauerkraut, making it a little bit soggy by the time we finished.
It got a taaad bit soggy…
If you want a dog that’s more straightforward without all the ingredients of the other two, then this could be a solid go-to. The bun was covered in big, coarse pieces of salt (which we liked!), but in the end, we felt like it was just a tad too much bread for the size of the hot dog.
That bun is THICK.
If you like things a bit more scaled back, a plain hot dog is available as well.
Right now, the only side item available on the menu is the parmesan chips. They’re a pretty solid portion size for a side item, and they’re essentially house-made kettle chips with parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. But you know what? They were one of our favorites from the meal and we’d definitely recommend them to a friend! (Can’t go wrong with a good potato chip!)
Parmesan. Chips. Need we say more?
Now let’s discuss our drinks! There are a few different alcoholic beverage options on this menu, but the ones we chose to review today were the Tampa Bay Reef Donkey APA and the Bold City Duke’s Cold Nose Brown Ale.
We also ordered two drinks!
Our reporter really loved the APA, noting that it had a slight citrus flavor and was very refreshing. The brown ale was darker with caramel and chocolate notes, which definitely made it heavier. The person who tried it noted that it was smooth and enjoyable, but that they wouldn’t likely be able to drink more than one.
We’re getting some strong ballpark vibes here…
You can order either of these drinks for $10 each.
What was our final impression?
So, now that we’ve tried everything out, let’s break down our thoughts!
Nosh or Not

- You LOOOVE hot dogs and you want to try some outside-the-box options.
- You want something that’s quick and easy to eat in Hollywood Studios.

Keep On Walking if…
- You don’t like hot dogs. That’s pretty much the gist of what you’ll get here.
- You want something a little more exciting or unique than a hot dog with atypical toppings.
- You’re looking for a meal that’s relaxing, fancy, out of the heat, or at a table service restaurant. This one is for those who are on the go!
Overall
We genuinely enjoyed our stop at Fairfax Fare today, but let us tell you — that was a LOT of food! The prices are pretty typical for Disney World hot dogs and the options are fairly limited, but if one of these items, in particular, sounds like something you want to try, then we’d suggest placing a Mobile Order next time you’re in the area. It’s not really destination-worthy, but if you need a quick pick-me-up, it’s a solid choice.
