Celebrate Halfway to Halloween in Disney World By…Dissolving the Sanderson Sisters?!

You might not think it’s the right time of year to get spooky, but did you realize we’re Halfway to Halloween!?

@Disney

Disney World is celebrating Halfway to Halloween in a big way. We’ve seen limited-time treats, special merchandise, and exciting announcements. Now, we’re trying out ANOTHER spooky treat.

Over at The Ganachery in Disney Springs, there is a special offering that features some of our favorite witches — the Sanderson Sisters! Check out the Halfway to Halloween Hocus Pocus Hot Chocolate Bomb!

Hot Chocolate Bomb

This kit comes in a cute little box with a chocolate broom and a hot chocolate cauldron — complete with Mary, Winnifred, and Sarah, of course!

Hot Chocolate Bomb

How does it work? Well, you place that chocolatey cauldron in a mug, pour some hot milk on top, and then stir with the chocolate broom until everything dissolves together. YUM.

Hot Chocolate Bomb

On top of that, it’s super cute! Look at the detail on the chocolate broom.

Hot Chocolate Bomb

Plus the spooky and sweet visages of the sisters’ three.

Hot Chocolate Bomb

We aren’t able to give this a try in the parks because of the whole no mug or boiling milk situation, but if the usual quality of Ganachery chocolate is any indication, we sure are in for a treat when we get our hot chocolate on later!

Hot Chocolate Bomb

You can snag this treat at The Ganachery in Disney Springs for $14.91 after tax. Right now you need the secret code amuck, amuck, amuck to order this treat! And remember, it will only be available through May 12th. As always, stay tuned to DFB to see ALL the latest Disney eats and treats!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Entertainment Update

The Festival of the Lion King

It was the best day EVER in Disney’s Animal Kingdom because Festival of the Lion King had a soft reopening, welcoming everyone back to the show! There were a lot of laughs, tears, and (of course) excited squeals over the return of the live show. BUT, there also some major modifications in order to follow health and safety guidelines!

Festival of the Lion King

Now called “A Celebration of The Festival of the Lion King,” there have been alterations made to both the staging and the seating in the theatre. Disney is promoting distancing still, so there is limited capacity for the show. That means you MUST have your whole group together and you MUST stay together before you enter the theatre and when you’re inside.

Celebration of the Festival of the Lion King!

There are four people maximum per sticker as you wait in line as four people can be seated in most sections once inside the theatre. That means larger parties will get split up. Every other row is closed as certain sections are blocked off too.

This section is blocked

When the show began, we noticed that the choreography was different in order to allow performers to stay distanced from one another.

It’s still a great show!

The part of the show with four different sections of animals has been removed, and kids are no longer able to come out for the parade portion like before.

Timon! Pumbaa!

Guests are asked not to sing along, but to wave and clap instead (which is still fun)!

Hi Simba!

Regardless of the changes, Festival of the Lion King was still just as magical as ever! And, we’re SO happy to see it back once again!

Festival of the Lion King will have its official opening on May 15th as guests and performers celebrate the return of live entertainment in Disney World together!

Here are all the changes we saw at The Festival of the Lion King!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Construction Update

Na’vi River Journey

There’s usually some sort of construction happening around the Disney Parks whenever we visit. And, Disney’s Animal Kingdom is no different as more work is done around the Na’vi River Journey exit.

Na’vi River Journey Construction

The painting on the ground is receiving touch-ups and a few extra details, like more bioluminescent features so you really feel like you’re in the Valley of Mo’ara!

The Painting Continues!

We’ll be sure to give you a FULL look once it’s completed, of course! So, keep checking back for additional updates!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Crowd Update

Rainy Weather

We experienced another round of rainy Florida days when we popped over to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. When it was raining for around half an hour straight at one point, many people were either huddled in gift shops or leaving the park entirely to avoid the weather!

Rainy Day Crowds

Wait Times

There was a flux of wait times around the park with a few lower wait times at spots like Expedition Everest with 20 minutes

Expedition Everest

Kilimanjaro Safaris with 25 minutes

Kilimanjaro Safaris

…and Dinosaur with 35 minutes.

Dinosaur

However, popular attractions around the park had some longer waits with the Kali River Rapids hitting 50 minutes

Kali River Rapids

…and Pandora’s attractions with the Na’vi River Journey at 30 minutes and Avatar Flight of Passage at 65 minutes!

Pandora

Well, that’s all for this What’s New at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! We’ll catch you next time for more updates. And, if you have any questions about your upcoming Disney vacation, let us know so we can help you find the answers!

PHOTOS: Electrical Wiring for Lighting Begins on TRON Lightcycle Run Canopy at Magic Kingdom

tron-lights-05-10-7

Though construction TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom has been delayed, we’re still seeing progress on the coaster’s canopy. Temporary supports are slowly being removed from beneath the white framework, revealing more of the canopy’s final shape. Now electrical work has begun, so lights can eventually run across the canopy. The wires can be difficult to see amid the white framework. Once completed, lights will shine from all over canopy, illuminating it for all of Tomorrowland to see. The […]

After failing to open with the park last summer, Sunset Ranch Pins and Souvenirs has reopened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Located on Sunset Boulevard, this stand offers primarily Disney pins, but also some necessary items for a day at the parks. You can pick up misting fans and hats for relief from the strong Florida sun. There’s also a selection of headwear. As with the other shopping spots around Walt Disney World, the registers are equipped with plexiglass barriers. You […]
