Rustic Dining at Tutto Italia Provides Hearty Fare

Part of our day-to-day in-park research includes revisiting restaurants to ensure our dining reviews are up to date. Ivonne from our team recently went to Tutto Italia at the Italy pavilion in EPCOT to try out some of their comfort food, Italian style.

Tutto Italia Setting and Atmosphere

Tutto Italia is located in EPCOT’s Italy pavilion in the main courtyard area. It offers mostly indoor seating, however there is a patio area with limited outdoor seating as well. The interior is what you’d expect from an Italian ristorante with painted murals on the walls that appear almost like windows looking out on the Italian scenery.

Tutto Italia Menu

As you’d expect, the menu at Tutto Italia is rustic Italian fare. No pizzas here, as those are reserved for the neighboring Via Napoli. You will find traditional pasta dishes like lasagne, ravioli, and spaghetti ($28-$33) along with chicken, fish, and steak options ($33-$39). A selection of antipasti and salads round out the menu, including the popular Tagliere with cheeses, meats, and olives for two ($39). Finally, there are several desserts from gelato and cannoli to torta and of course tiramisu ($11-$14). Kids meal options are $11 and include spaghetti, kid’s pizza, chicken tenders, and mozzarella sticks. Alcoholic beverages, including a variety of cocktails, are also available.

The Dining Experience at Tutto Italia

On Ivonne’s visit, she found that the service was good and the meal was well paced. For her meal, Ivonne ordered the following:

  • Cocktail: Americano: Campari, sweet vermouth, club soda, and an orange twist ($16)
  • Antipasti: “Fior de Latte” Caprese: Vine-Ripe Tomatoes, Basil, Maldon Sea Salt, Tuscan olive oil and Balsamic glaze ($17)
  • Entree: Gnocchi Sorrentina: Potato dumplings, roasted tomatoes, pomodoro sauce, burrata cheese ($29)
  • Dessert: Torta Della Nona: Grandmother cake, custard cream, pinoli and almonds ($13)
  • Cappuccino ($5)

The Americano cocktail was beautiful to look at and had a delightful flavor. If you’re used to the overly sweet drinks you find at a lot of Disney establishments, you might be surprised at the bitter taste that this drink has. This drink was not at all sweet, and if you like a cocktail that isn’t swimming sugar, this would be one you likely would enjoy.

It’s hard to go wrong with caprese on a warm Florida day, and this was a refreshing start to the meal. The mozzarella and tomatoes were fresh, and it was wonderful to have the balsamic drizzled around the tomatoes instead of on top of it, that way you could use as much or as little as you liked.

One aspect of dining at Walt Disney World that is unusual is the number of places that don’t serve bread with the meal. It may be a little thing, but it is very delightful to have bread service with the meal. The rolls provided were crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, just as they should be.

Although the gnocchi were cooked perfectly, the pomodoro sauce just didn’t seem to go that well with the dish for Ivonne. (Her recommendation for gnocchi is the version served at The Wave.) That said, having that “ice cream scoop” amount of cheese on top was wonderful. You can’t go wrong by adding more cheese to any Italian dish!

Ending the meal with a cappuccino and dessert is a wonderful treat. The cappuccino wasn’t anything special, but the dessert course wouldn’t have felt complete without it. The torta really did feel like a grandmotherly hug. The flavor was mild, but comforting and the custard cream gave it just the right touch of sweetness. This is something that Ivonne would order again.

Tutto Italia Ratings

We have ratings and rankings for every Walt Disney World dining location and Tutto Italia has a 88% thumbs up rating, and is ranked #48 out of 105 table service restaurants.

Tutto Italia provides a great atmosphere for people who want to have the international experience of dining at an EPCOT pavilion while having approachable, familiar food that is well prepared. The prices feel like a better value as well, when compared to what you’ll pay for a pizza at Via Napoli.

Tutto Italia offers discounts for DVC Members (15%) and annual passholders (10%). Tables in Wonderland (20% discount) is also accepted.

Have you dined at Tutto Italia? What is your favorite thing to order? Let us know in the comments!

Disney Celebrates Halfway to Halloween with Special Spooky Treats

This month, Disney is bringing a hint of one of its best-celebrated holidays to us early. In an announcement on Disney Parks Blog today, we learned that three limited-time treats will be available to celebrate Halfway to Halloween, along with four unique recipes inspired by Disney parks and films.

Black Tap Pumpkin Pie

Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes at Downtown Disney District

You can visit Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes this weekend to find their Classic Pumpkin Pie Shake. This shake is Black Tap’s take on fall flavors topped with whipped cream, graham cracker crumbles, and a cherry (available May 7-9).

Gideon Hand Pies

Gideon’s Bakehouse at Disney Springs

If you’re like me and adore Gideon’s Bakehouse, you may want to wake up early next week and head to Disney Springs. Gideon’s will be offering a uniquely “disguised” version of its most beloved cookie. For three short days, you can experience a Gideon’s Hand Pie- a handmade Gideon’s chocolate chip cookie baked inside a flaky and buttery crust (available May 10-12 while supplies last; limit two per person).

Ganachery Cauldron Cocoa Bomb

The Ganachery at Disney Springs

When you’re finished snagging your Gideon’s hand pie, you can head over to The Ganachery for their Cauldron Cocoa Bomb. Hocus Pocus lovers will enjoy this dark chocolate cauldron is filled with hot cocoa mix and green marshmallows topped with an edible image of the Sanderson Sisters and a chocolate broom stirrer. However, there is a trick to getting this photo-worthy treat. You’ll need to check @disneyparks on TikTok throughout Saturday, May 8, to learn the secret, scary phrase to order (available May 10-12 while supplies last; limit two per person).

In addition to the spooky snacks, Disney has released four festive recipes you can make at home to celebrate Halfway to Halloween.

Our first two snacks come from the soon-to-be-released Disney Villains: Devilishly Delicious Cookbook, which is available for pre-order.

Deviled Eggs

The Underworld Smoothie recipe is inspired by the animated feature film, Hercules. This frosty treat plays off of Hades’ two moods: the calm blue flames and angry red flames of his hair. Both flavors are mixed separately, then poured together to make one fun drink. Click here for a print-at-home version of this recipe. The Deviled Dragon Eggs will take a little extra time to prepare, but the results will be a creation even Maleficent would love. Click here for a print-at-home version of this recipe.

Jolly Holiday

This Pumpkin Muffin recipe comes from the recipe vault at Disneyland Park. You might recognize it from past Halloween Time celebrations at Jolly Holiday Bakery Café. These beautiful muffins get a sprinkle of streusel on top and are the perfect fall treat for pumpkin lovers. Click here for a print-at-home version of this recipe.

Apple Crumble Tart

Last but not least, this  Apple Crumble Tart is an exclusive recipe for Disney Parks Blog readers and an exciting preview for the upcoming EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival (starting Jul. 15 and running through Nov. 20). It’s difficult not to crave this adorable little apple pie covered in a crumble topping. Click here for a print-at-home version of this recipe.

While Halloween this year might not be the same as in past years, Disney is making an effort to build excitement and celebrate this exciting autumn holiday. These limited-edition snacks are a cute and creative way to build anticipation as we get halfway closer to fall. It will be interesting to see what treats Disney has in store for us this Halloween. One thing is for sure – I can’t wait until the day those Mickey pumpkins grace Main Street once again!

PHOTOS: Final Character Gate Removed at Transportation and Ticket Center for 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World

ttc-refurbishment-1

The Transportation and Ticket Center is being refurbished in time for Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th anniversary later this year. Earlier this week, most of the character-themed gates were removed and supports began to be painted blue. Now, the final character gate is gone. The gate was previously in this area. The supports here remain the old pink color. Now that the gates have been removed, painting will probably pick up in this section of the Transportation and Ticket Center. […]
