If you are the type of Disney fan who goes crazy for immersive cast member costumes and you also happen to be a fan of the Avengers, today is your lucky day.

The Disney Parks Blog has just shared a first look at the cast member costumes for Avengers Campus opening at Disney California Adventure Park on June 4, 2021.

Inside Avengers Campus, the cast members will be known as campus representatives, and similar to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the costumes are inspired by each location within the area.

The costumes were designed to be cool and comfortable for the campus representatives and help with the land’s immersive storytelling. Disney’s descriptions follow below with images of the costumes. Let’s take a look!

Campus Representatives at WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure and WEB Suppliers will wear pieces that feature modern, techy emblems and materials made of lightweight, breathable fabrics with stretch for movement and flexibility.

Over at Pym Test Kitchen featuring IMPOSSIBLE, they will take on unique pieces like a Pym pocket protector, lab coat, hat and tie. Giving a nod to the growing and shrinking science used to create shareable bites and sweets at this location, these costumes feature a large “Pym Particle” on the hat and much smaller pattern on the tie.

The campus uniform includes cargo bottoms, a training shirt and a tactical-inspired vest that are comfortable, lightweight and breathable, so cast can be ready to take on any mission that comes their way.

At the Ancient Sanctum, costumes layer unique pieces that cast a dramatic silhouette with rich textures and sewing techniques inspired by the Mystic Arts.

Campus Representatives at both food carts in Avengers Campus will gear up in colorful aprons—one inspired by classic New York City food carts for Shawarma Palace and the other inspired by the second anchor attraction in the land, Guardians of the Galaxy—Mission: BREAKOUT!, for Terran Treats.

The Princess Promenade at EPCOT is the last character cavalcade remaining. Belle, Aurora, and Snow White travel around World Showcase in a horse-drawn carriage with plastic barriers between them. Previously, Jasmine was also in the carriage, but Mulan has replaced her. Ironically, we caught Mulan as the cavalcade went through the Morocco Pavilion. She was dressed in her “matchmaker” outfit. Just in time for the scorching summer months, the new Gelateria Toscana at the Italy pavilion in EPCOT is a welcome new addition.

The menu includes a variety of gelati and sorbetti, plus floats, “gelati creations”, pastries, boozy frozen drinks, beer and wine, coffee, and other non-alcoholic beverages.

Two scoops of gelati in a cone or a cup will run around $8, with floats and creations going up to $11.75.

Chrissy on our team tried out a few of their offerings today. Here’s what she had to say.

I ordered the Amerena Cherry gelati in a cup, the Coppa Delisia (strawberry, vanilla, cookies and cream, with strawberry sauce and whipped cream), and the Cannoli al Cioccolato (cannoli filled with sweet ricotta, chocolate, and candied orange). Because hydration is so important, I also got a Sanpellegrino Aranciata (orange). The line was very short today, but there were some first day jitters — I received my cherry gelato three times, but the strawberry sundae was delayed while the gelato melted. I have no doubt that they’ll improve their systems as everyone gets used to everything.

The cherry gelato was thick, rich, and sweet, and it was certainly enough to share. I’m a big fan of orange soda, and so the Sanpellegrino was a great way to get that flavor without any additional sweetness. The cannoli was delicious, with just the right amount of contrast between the crunch and the creamy filling.

The biggest surprise was the strawberry sundae. Compared to the gelati, it wasn’t very sweet. It certainly was enormous, but truthfully the better option is to go with the scoops of gelati. Two scoops by themselves feel like a better value, and the whipped cream detracts from the amazing gelati flavor. If you’re truly craving a sundae, remember that you’re not too far from Beaches and Cream — go there for the sundae and stay here for the gelati.

We’ll be back to try more of the treats this summer (hello frozen sangria!) , but we are so excited to welcome this new location.
