Happy May, everyone!
EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival!
We’re already flying through spring, as April has come and gone. We’ve pushed through the spring break and Easter crowds, and now it’s May! If you’ve got a Disney World trip planned this month, we’re sharing some of the BEST things you can do!
EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival
We might sound like a broken record talking about the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival, but it’s sticking around for so long this year and it’s definitely worth checking out! There are dozens of different festival eats to try, and we’ve already shared our absolute favorites with you.
Sunshine Griddle was a big hit among our team!
We recently tried some new items at Farmers Feast, a festival booth that has a rotating menu. We tried an asparagus salad, lamb, and a strawberry-basil cocktail. And they recently teased their upcoming menu!
Even Asparagus Looks Pretty
Beyond the food, there are different activities you can participate in like Spike’s Pollen-Nation Exploration. And you can’t miss the amazing topiaries and gardens stationed throughout the park.
Adorable panda topiaries!
On the weekends, you can catch live performances from Orlando bands at the America Gardens Theatre for some fun entertainment!
Live entertainment!
The Flower and Garden Festival is sticking around until July 5th, so you’ve still got plenty of time to check it out!
Mother’s Day Treats
Mother’s Day falls on May 9th this year, but that doesn’t stop Disney World from churning out the treats early! We’ve already tried some cupcakes and a mimosa cake.
What Do You Think of This Cake?
And there will be plenty more where that came from! We’ve put together a full list of Mother’s Day treats that you can find in the parks this year. For something a little more celebratory, select Disney World restaurants, like STK, are hosting special events for Mother’s Day.
The newest addition to EPCOT is coming this month! Gelateria Toscana, the new gelato stand in the Italy Pavilion, is finally making its debut after months and months of construction. We can’t wait to check it out.
Spot anything?
On the menu are over a dozen gelato flavors, gelato sundaes, sorbettos, and classic Italian desserts like cannolis and tiramisu.

You can keep an eye out for our review of Gelateria Toscana so you know what you absolutely have to try during your visit to EPCOT.
Celebrate World Whisky Day at Raglan Road
Raglan Road in Disney Springs is known for its traditional Irish grub, specialty beers, and live entertainment. This month, Raglan Road is celebrating World Whisky Day from May 12th through 15th.
Raglan Road
You can try a flight of four different limited-release whiskeys from around the world for $25. Sounds like a celebration to us! While you’re there, don’t miss out on the Bangers and Mash or Fish and Chips.
See Festival of the Lion King
In case you missed it, one of the most popular shows at Disney World, Festival of the Lion King, is set to return mid-May! The show has been modified to allow for social distancing and has a new name: “A Celebration of The Festival of the Lion King.”

The cast has been busy rehearsing the modified show and it’s one we totally have it on our do-not-miss list! We’re so excited to see live entertainment returning to Disney World!
Eat At Three Newly-Reopened Restaurants
Things at Disney World are reopening like crazy right now, and we recently got word that THREE restaurants will soon reopen to guests! First, Tusker House Restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is coming back with modified character dining sometime this month. AND Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, which has been open with a modified character experience for breakfast, will soon reopen for dinner, too, on May 16th.
What’s Chef Mickey whipping up in the kitchen?
Finally, Cape May Cafe at Disney’s Beach Club Resort will reopen on May 18th.
If you’re visiting Disney World this month, hopefully, you can work some of these activities into your plans! We’ll be sharing all the latest news you need to know to prepare for your trip so be sure to keep checking back with us!
