Universal Orlando Resort has been slowly changing many COVID-19 safety measures, such as removing temperature screenings and reducing physical distancing to 3 feet. In a similar move, the plexiglass dividers installed between rows on each ride vehicle have been removed from Skull Island: Reign of Kong at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. The plexiglass remains on the dividers at the load station. However, it has been removed from the ride vehicles. Follow UPNT for more updates on Universal Orlando Resort’s COVID-19 […]

PHOTOS: Here’s What Mask and Safety Signage Looks Like NOW in Disney World

Disney World has undergone several policy changes lately.

Animal Kingdom Lodge

Those include new mask rules, the removal of temperature checks, and the reduction of social distancing. And we’re bound to see evidence of those shifts on property! Earlier today, we took a look at how social distancing has changed in the parks. Now, we’re takin’ a peek at signage!

For our deep-dive into signs, we hopped over to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. And we kicked things off at the bus stop, where the benches still have reminders to social distance.

Bus Stop Social Distancing Markers

Similarly, where the line stretches to board the bus, a sign tells guests to keep 6 feet apart. However, social distancing markers in that line have been removed.

Social Distancing Signage

Inside the hotel itself, signage still states that the elevator can accommodate 1 party or 4 individuals per trip. Nothin’ new here!

Elevator Signage

Outside at Uzima Springs Pool Bar, a sign tells guests to wear their masks (even though it is technically an outdoor location).

Mask Sign

You’ll also see signs around property reminding guests to wear a face covering at all times while indoors. This is a relatively new one, so it’s still popping up in various places. We spotted this one in Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

Wear a mask while indoors!

Previously, these signs reminded people to wear their masks at ALL times (both indoors and outdoors), except when actively eating or drinking while stationary.

Tons of new procedures all over the place!

Lastly, we’ve spotted some social distancing signs with the “6 feet” part taped over, as Disney reduces that number. They just remind guests to keep some distance between each other. We found this one in Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

Social Distancing Sign

In some places, that “6 feet” reminder remains. It seems that Disney is covering them, but hasn’t completed the process just yet.

Social Distancing Sign

These signs are starting to reflect Disney’s new mask and social distancing policies, and they offer you a good reminder if you’re a little uncertain which rules apply where! Keep an eye out for them on your visit so you can make sure you’re following those rules at any given time. And stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news!

Trying to Call Disneyland Today? You Might Experience Some Issues

Disneyland’s theme parks reopened in April, but only California residents have been able to step behind the gates and scream their way around Big Thunder Mountain Railroad or the Incredicoaster.

Disneyland Has Opened Once Again, But Not to Everyone…Yet!

Things are about to change though! In just a few weeks, Disneyland’s theme parks will become available to out-of-state visitors. It seems like quite a few people may be getting ready to plan their future trips to Disneyland today, and the phone lines seem to be feeling the pressure!

Earlier today we tried reaching out to Disneyland a few times and we couldn’t get through! The first time we called Disneyland’s tickets line (714-781-4636) and pressed option “3” for general park information or questions about theme park reservations.

Eventually, we were met by the following message: “We are currently experiencing extremely high call volume due to recent operational updates. To ensure that all callers waiting to speak to an agent have the opportunity to do so, we have closed our call queue at this time. We will reopen the queue when possible. So please try your call again later.”

Looks Like Disneyland’s Phone Lines Might Be a Bit Busy Today!

The message was repeated once more and then the call ended, without providing us with any option to stay on the line or anything like that.

We called the same tickets line again and pressed the same option and were met with the exact same message after which the call ended.

Are You Planning a Trip to Disneyland?

We then called the hotel reservations line (714-956-6425) and selected option 4 for general information. It then seemingly placed us in another phone line, which appeared to be the same as the tickets one. We selected option 3 for more information and were again met by the same message about the phone lines being closed, and once again the call ended.

Gotta Pack Your Patient Pants Today!

Now, this is just our experienced based on a few calls. Your experience may be very different. Disneyland has a number of different phone numbers (tickets, hotels, vacation packages, etc.) and each line likely has its own set of internal options to select from. Depending on what number you call and what options you select, you may get through to a Cast Member or you may be met with the same message we got. Things may also vary depending on what time of the day you call, etc.

Is a Trip to Disneyland in Your Future?

But, just be aware that if you are calling Disneyland today, you may experience some trouble reaching a Cast Member.

This serves as a good reminder of why working with a travel agent, like our friends over at Small World Vacations, or your trips can be a great benefit! If you’ve got a question about the vacation you’ve booked with them and need more information than what you can find online, you can usually reach out to your travel agent who can generally help you get many of the answers you need. We highly recommend the folks over at Small World Vacations, who have a wealth of knowledge about planning Disney trips. And all of their services are FREE!! You’ll find all of their contact information below so you can reach out to them for your vacation booking needs.

Clarabelle and Oswald!

We’ll keep an eye out for more updates about all of the changes going on at Disneyland and let you know what we find. Stay tuned for the latest updates.

An iconic Disneyland ride is closing for refurbishment soon. Check out more details by clicking here!

We noticed a few social distancing changes on some of the rides in EPCOT. Soarin’ no longer has plexiglass barriers featured in the seating.

Soarin’

Journey Into Imagination with Figment is now seating every row. Our reporter was a single rider and had a row to herself, but another party sat directly behind.

Since Walt Disney World announced impending changes to some of their COVID-19 policies, physical distancing has been reduced around the resort. From attraction seating to transportation, changes can be seen. Today, we stopped by MuppetVision 3D at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to see what changes have been made to the physical distancing measures there. The outdoor queue still has physical distancing markers in place, but it was not being used when we visited. Physical distancing markers have been removed from the […]
