The next round of Wishables plush are inspired by Cars Land in Disney California Adventure and will be available on shopDisney.com starting June 2. The preview picture on shopDisney features Luigi, Mater, Red, and Sally. It’s possible these four will be in the Wishables mystery pack, while Lightning McQueen will be available separately. The Wishables will also be available in Disney Parks soon. Will you be collecting the Cars Wishables? Let us know in the comments.
First announced in 2019, Disney’s Launchpad program gives filmmakers from underrepresented backgrounds the chance to create their own short film and get it in front of a wide audience on Disney+. The first collection of short films premiered on May 28th, including American Eid. I had the opportunity to meet with director Aqsa Altaf to discuss […]

When you’re headed on a trip to Disney World, you have several options of where you can stay.
Walt Disney World Gateway
For many of us, that means a stay at one of the Disney World Resort hotels. These hotels are very cool but there are some awesome accommodations just outside of Disney World that don’t have the same hustle and bustle AND can be a little cheaper. So, if you’re staying for a while or looking to save a little bit of money, you might look into an Airbnb instead! Let’s take a look at some of the high-rated Airbnbs near Disney World!
New! Lucaya Village
First up, we have a new property at Lucaya Village. This option has a 4.89 rating from 28 reviews and is an entire townhouse. It can accommodate eight guests in four bedrooms and has three bathrooms. Remember, you’ll need a car to stay at most Airbnbs. This one is about five miles from Disney World.
Here, you’re looking at a base of $145 per night. Remember, Airbnb is notorious for high fees, so make sure you check your exact dates and booking before building your plans around any of these reservations.
Another nearby Airbnb with great ratings is the Modern Pool View Villa near Disney & Parks. This entire apartment can hold six guests with one bedroom and one bath. It’s $67 each night as a base.
The Amazing King Retreat near Disney #528 is 5 to 10 minutes from all four Disney parks. It has a 4.92 rating from 294 reviews which is almost the best rating on this list.
This villa houses four guests with one bedroom and one bath for $79 each night. As for the reviews you’re looking at a rating of 4.81 from 151 reviewers.
The Wonderful vacation villa for six people is a short trip away from Disney World and has Disney touches built into the decor. It’s got a review of 4.74 from 27 guests.
With three beds and one bath, this entire apartment is fairly spacious and has a base price of $70 each night. It’s so fun to find Disney touches (like Mickeys!) in an Airbnb!
In this case, you’ll have access to the entire apartment with room for six guests across one bedroom and two bathrooms. Altogether, the base rate is about $92 each night. We can’t get over the view!
Magical Newly Renovated! 1.5 Miles To Disney (754)
A similar spot is the Magical Newly Renovated! 1.5 Miles to Disney (754). This entire apartment has a rating of 4.72 from 81 reviews. Guests can stay in a spacious one-bedroom that accommodates six guests.
Finally, you could book an entire townhouse for $118 each night at Debbie’s Disney Getaway Be our Guest! This Airbnb has a rating of 4.96 from 114 reviews and is located just 3 miles from Disney World.
It can hold eight guests across three bedrooms with five beds and over two baths so this is definitely a great option for a larger party. The base rate at this one is $118 per night.
Again, when you are booking an Airbnb near Disney World, you’re probably going to want to have access to your own vehicle. Disney World itself is very large and it will be more difficult for you to access on-property transportation. If you are looking into Airbnbs in the Disney World area, we hope this post is helpful! As always, stay tuned to DFB to see all the latest updates and tips from Disney!

This year, Pixar’s Cars is celebrating its 15th anniversary and there are some new ways for you to celebrate!
KA-CHOW!
You could, of course, re-watch all of the Cars movies on Disney+ or even stop by Cars Land in Disneyland or Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy in Disney World’s Hollywood Studios. But, soon you’ll also be able to snag some new Cars-themed collectible keys. And recently Disney shared that NEW Cars-themed Wishables will also be released and we got a peek at them today!
Get ready to start those engines and mark those calendars — new Cars-themed Wishables will be released on shopDisney on June 2nd!! So far, Disney has shared a picture showing 4 cars as part of the Wishables set which include Mater, Sally, and more!
Lightning McQueen isn’t pictured there so we expect he may be the one Wishables plush that is sold on its own and not part of the blind pack. We’ll have to wait until the full set is released to find out for sure.
It’s Lightning McQueen!
If you’re not familiar with Wishables they are micro Disney plushes themed to Disney characters and attractions. Typically, 4 Wishables plushes are released through a blind pack, meaning you’ll have to buy the pack and open it up to see which of the 4 you get. Sometimes there are also special variation plushes available as part of the mystery pack too.
And usually one character in the series is sold on its own.

We’re hangin’ out in Magic Kingdom for Memorial Day!
Cinderella Castle
We’ve already been celebrating with Memorial Day treats and a BIG sale, but now we’re heading into the park to see what special events are taking place! And on Main Street, U.S.A., we spotted a tradition we’ve just got to share.
The Dapper Dans are a Magic Kingdom staple — we love seeing them dressed up for various holidays! And today, they were sporting their Memorial Day best. Check out those red, white, and blue outfits!
It’s the Dapper Dans!
They made their way down Main Street, U.S.A. singing patriotic tunes (and waving to guests, of course!).
As usual, we love hearing them belting out their tunes around Magic Kingdom. We’ll keep an eye out for more Memorial Day celebrations in the parks, and we’ll be sure to keep ya posted!

Early on in Walt Disney World’s phased reopening, circular stickers were placed on the edge of the Main Street, U.S.A. sidewalks in Magic Kingdom to encourage physical distancing when viewing cavalcades. As distancing continues to be reduced, these have now been removed. We can still see where the stickers used to be. The markers were not always effective in creating physical distancing, with guests often crowding together anyway and the Main Street bypass opening sometimes to reduce crowding. Physical distancing […]
Some of the taller trees throughout Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom have been replaced in the past few days. The new trees, being smaller, offer less shade. For reference, see our photos below from January. Above is Tomorrowland today, below is another photo of Tomorrowland in January. Some of the old trees reached above the PeopleMover track, while the new ones are shorter than it. The trees are in planters surrounding the central hub of Tomorrowland, where guests board the Tomorrowland […]
We’re back with another update on Magic Kingdom construction, crowds, and changes. In this Walt Disney World park report, we’ll take a look at wait times, problem points, and congestion (or lack thereof) over Memorial Day weekend, which is the traditional kickoff to the summer tourist season in the parks. The big topic today is […]
