Today, we have a LOT to be thankful for. As summer quickly approaches (ummm…where did the time go?!), and a time of remembrance is just a few days away, we’re reflecting on all the things we’re grateful for here at DFB.

Cinderella Castle

The veterans and active-duty service members who have sacrificed so much for our country. Our family and friends who have helped us get through this rollercoaster of a year (and not the good kind). Our DFB team members who keep us laughing, even on the most difficult days. The Cast Members who help add that extra special spark of magic to Disney. And, of course, YOU!

We LOVE what we do here at DFB. But, without your continuous support and kindness, none of this would be possible. (Did you know, we have a whole Slack channel called “You Do Important Work,” where we put all of your emails, DMs, and messages? Yes, we read them ALL, and they add so much joy to our day!)

We’ve seen lots of July 4th merch pop up around the parks lately, but we found a new America face mask in Island Mercantile!

Physical distancing is being reduced throughout Walt Disney World, especially outdoors. At the Transportation and Ticket Center, distancing markers have been removed from the queue for the Magic Kingdom Express Monorail. Now distancing markers have been removed from the Disney Springs bus loop. Each bus stop previously had markers six feet apart in the queues. We can still see where some markers used to be. We’re suckers for a new Disney snack…especially a SECRET Disney snack!

It can be pretty tricky to hunt down secret menus in Disney World, but they have some of the most interesting snacks on them! Earlier this year, we found a secret menu hot dog that was, well, a little insane. Now, Disney Springs is at it again with a new (and much cuter) SECRET ITEM! 

Disney Parks announced a new item on the Tik Tok secret menu this morning and you KNOW we had to give it a try.

Watermelon Dole Whip Slice

This treat is a REAL watermelon slice (rind and all) filled with Watermelon Dole Whip and topped with chocolate chips. Um…can someone say Instagrammable?

We’ve had the Watermelon Dole Whip here before and we weren’t super wowed, plus this isn’t the only watermelon treat of the day. There’s also the new Watermelon Dole Whip Parfait that debuted today.

Time to Dig In

But, let’s see if loading this dessert into a HUGE slice of fruit makes it a must-get!

The Dole Whip itself was refreshingly light and though it did taste like fake watermelon, it wasn’t overpowering like a Jolly Rancher. We LOVED the real watermelon slice that this treat comes in! It was very delicious and flavorful.

The chocolate chips are visually cute (they look like watermelon seeds!), but we would ask them to leave them off next time. Chocolate and watermelon are kind of a weird combination, so if you don’t plan on snapping pics, you might want to go without.

This treat might not be best for those who aren’t fans of that fake watermelon flavor, but if you like watermelon or are looking to try a new Dole Whip flavor — head on over and try it for $6.38! P.S. You can also find fun Dole Whip creations at Aloha Isle and Sunshine Tree Terrace in Magic Kingdom and at Pineapple Lanai in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

We love running into Disney characters!

Hey guys!

Whether we spot a rare character in the parks or see familiar friends in new costumes, it makes our day getting to smile and wave at our pals. And today, we found some classic characters at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort!

Now, we’ve seen characters pop up pretty frequently at the resorts — including the Grand Floridian! — but it still makes for a super fun surprise. And on our latest visit, Goofy and Pluto were BACK, hangin’ out with guests!

It’s Pluto!

Today, they were in the lobby, tucked behind the wall near the Garden View Lounge. But we were still able to head on up and say hi! Goofy seemed pretty happy to see us…

…while Pluto struck a pose!

So photogenic, right?!

These character pop-ups are random, so there’s no guarantee you’ll spot one on your visit. But keep your eyes peeled — it could really add some extra fun to your day! And stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney news.
