Hong Kong Disneyland’s next big expansion is Arendelle: World of Frozen. The Frozen land will include a mountain and Elsa’s ice palace, with Arendelle shops below. We took a look at construction earlier this month, but now HKDL Fantasy on Twitter has shared photos of what appears to be Elsa’s ice palace taking shape. The tallest point of construction on the Arendelle mountain appears to be in the same spot as Elsa’s palace in concept art. It’s possible then that […]

TV Recap: “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers” Episode 9 – “Head Games”

For a series revolving around hockey, the penultimate episode of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers leading into next week’s finale had a real lack of it. Instead, relationships were the talk-of-the-town. Last week’s cliffhanger of Evan realizing he had to fire Alex as coach was quickly resolved within the opening moments, allowing the focus to switch […]

From Cruella to Marvel to Star Wars, whimsical Disney keys have been popping up like wildflowers online, and now there’s a new collectible trinket coming SOON to shopDisney, in honor of one of the most classic Disneyland attractions!

When you think of Disneyland, one of the longstanding rides that probably comes to mind is “it’s a small world.” It’s honestly hard to imagine Disneyland (or Disney World) without it!

it’s a small world Disneyland

That’s partly because the attraction has been around for 55 years (!!), and in honor of that impressive anniversary, Disney is releasing a special key and pin inspired by the musical boat ride!

We’ve already seen other recent releases, like an “it’s a small world” board game and a Funko POP collection, and now coming to shopDisney on May 28th, both the key — and a pin — feature a kaleidoscope of bright colors, including hot pink, teal, yellow, and royal blue. They’re covered in images of children from across the globe, along with salutations in other languages, like “shalom,” “adios,” “aloha.”

The ends of the keys and pins also feature the name of the ride, along with a few small images from the attraction.

The BEST Ways To Show Cast Members You Appreciate Them!

Cast Members are often the reason your Disney vacation can be so magical!

Welcome Back to Disneyland!!

They are vital to making the Disney Parks and Resorts operate smoothly and successfully. Since the pandemic began, many Cast Members have been hit hard by the closures around the world and the massive furloughs and layoffs Disney made in 2020. Now that many parks are back up and operating, Cast Members deserve our appreciation more than ever!

Here are the best ways to tell Cast Members you appreciate them:

Say Thank You

This may seem like an obvious one, but it can really make an impact! Telling a Cast Member thank you after they help you with something can make their day. Take the time to genuinely thank them for working during this difficult time.

Edeline just over here making magic for everyone!

If a Cast Member goes out of their way for you or simply hands you a Mickey pretzel, thank them for being there right now to help make your experience a great one!

Thank Them With A Card

To take a thank you a step further, you can bring small cards to give to Cast Members while you’re on property! A little card with a token of your gratitude inside is the perfect way to make a Cast Member feel appreciated.

Cast Member at the start of the BTMRR Line

Write them a handwritten note thanking them for your experience!

Leave A Tip!

Some Cast Members are allowed to accept tips, while others are not. You ARE allowed to tip Bell Services, Housekeeping, Car Valets, Bartenders, Wait staff at full-service restaurants, Spa Staff, and Room Service Staff. If you have an enjoyable experience, you may want to consider tipping these Cast Members!

Cast Member at the Polynesian Resort

Many times they are going out of their way to give you exceptional service, so they deserve to be appreciated as well!

Read more about tipping Cast Members here.

Write A Personalized Note

Similar to a card, but if you’re staying on Disney property, it only takes a second to write a small message on a notepad to give to Cast Members.

Cast Members at Hurricane Hannas

Leave it in your room along with a tip for your housekeepers, wrap it around a tip to give to bell services or car valets, and even write a small note on the receipt you leave for your servers or bartenders!

Give A #CastCompliment

Another great way to show your appreciation is to give a #CastCompliment on social media! Simply note the Cast Member’s name, where they’re from (which is written on their name tag), and where they helped you and post on social media with the hashtag #CastCompliment!

Cast Member Water ART!

Make sure to also tag an official Disney account like @WaltDisneyWorld or @Disneyland so it has a better chance of being seen by the company! You can also give a compliment to a Cast Member by visiting Guest Services and leaving a note about the person you want to recognize!

Send An Email Or Letter

If you don’t want to physically go to Guest Relations or maybe you forgot to compliment the Cast Member until you got home, you can also write Disney to give your compliment! You can send an email to Guest Communications at Walt Disney World at: [email protected] or send a letter to:

Walt Disney World Guest Communications
PO Box 10040
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-0040

“Capture Your Moment” Memory Maker

Make sure you include the Cast Member’s name and hometown, a description of how they impacted you, and where or when it happened! These compliments go into that Cast Member’s file and can be very beneficial to them when Disney is looking at promotions!

Be Nice!

This should go without saying, but most importantly, please be nice to Cast Members! Simply being friendly and thoughtful when interacting with Cast Members can help turn their day around, especially if they’ve had to deal with some not-so-nice guests!

©Disney

Make sure to politely listen to what Cast Members ask you to do as they are just trying to do their job and make your day magical!

Cast Members help make our dreams come true, so we should try and make them feel as appreciated as possible! Using any of these ways to say thank you is sure to make a Cast Member’s day a good one, so try them out!

NEWS: Food Delivery Service is Coming to Orlando International Airport Soon

An exciting new service will be making its way to Orlando International Airport!

Orlando International Airport

There are some exciting additions heading to Orlando International Airport. Of course, there’s the new Brightline train to Disney World that’s currently in the works. And we also recently learned that one of our FAVORITE Disney World restaurants will receive a location inside the airport soon! Speaking of awesome airport dining news, there’s another new option headed to Orlando International Airport in the future.

According to Orlando Business Journal, Orlando International Airport is looking for a tech firm to create a mobile ordering and delivery app for passengers to get food, drinks, and more while they wait for flights in the North Terminal.

Orlando Airport

Airport documents state that they will issue a request for proposals in June for a firm to “develop, install and maintain operation of a mobile order and delivery platform for retail and food and beverage concessionaires” in the North Terminal. The five-year contract is set to be awarded in October, and the company that wins the deal will share a minimum of 10% of gross receipts from its operations at the airport.

Orlando International Airport

This move will allow Orlando International Airport to join the growing list of airports around the country that offer food delivery services. For example, both Philadelphia International Airport and the Tom Bradley International terminal section of the Los Angeles International Airport both offer food delivery to passengers waiting at their gates.

Orlando International Airport

Orlando International Airport has been focused on improving the passenger experience for those flying in and out of the airport to ensure their visits are bookended by positive interactions. This move will allow the airport to offer an additional service to simplify the passenger experience.

We will continue to provide updates on other services and experiences coming to the Orlando International Airport, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for all of the latest information.

UPDATE: “WEB Power Bands” That Interact with New Spider-Man Ride May Just Be Recycled from Failed Disney Playmation Toy Line

world-of-color-6

While we recently learned what merchandise will be available at Avengers Campus when it opens at Disney California Adventure on June 4th, Disney fans with a good memory may have noticed a peculiar resemblance an older product has to the controversial WEB Power Bands that will interact with the attraction opening alongside the new theme park land. Above is the WEB Power Band (and some of the add-on devices that will be sold for it), which allows guests to unlock […]
