Knott’s Berry Farm Brings Back The Haunted Shack for 100th Anniversary Celebration

The Haunted Shack was a Knott’s Berry Farm classic from its opening in 1954, long before the theme park grew around Calico Ghost Town, to its closing in 2000. In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of Knott’s Berry Farm, the theme park has brought back a piece of The Haunted Shack. The original […]

PHOTOS: FASTPASS Distribution Machines Removed from Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! at Disney California Adventure

mission-breakout-fastpass-dispensers-removed

On our most recent visit to Disney California Adventure, we noticed that the FASTPASS distribution machines were totally removed from the recently-reopened Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! From afar, nothing looked too different about the structure which normally houses the FASTPASS dispensing machines. FASTPASS has been suspended during the initial reopening of Disney California Adventure. When we approached the area, though, we noticed the devices were completely missing. Half a dozen of the machines are normally situated outside […]

New Details Emerge Regarding California’s Plans to Fully Reopen on June 15th

We’re less than one month away from June 15th, which is the date that the state of California intends to fully reopen its economy, which will end their “Blueprint for a Safer Economy.”

Tier Map as of May 11th ©COVID-19.CA.GOV

This Blueprint is the name for California’s color-coded tier system that has been used since last year in determining things like capacity restrictions, what kinds of businesses can be open, physical distancing policies, and more. With the Blueprint ending next month, many have wondered what, if any, policies will be in place after June 15th.

The California Department of Public Health released new details on what new policies will be in place on June 15th. While most industries and business sectors can resume normal operations, including no capacity restrictions or physical distancing measurements, there will be certain restrictions to both indoor and outdoor “mega events.”

Source: California Department of Public Health

What exactly is a mega event? According to the state, a mega event involves large indoor gatherings of at least 5,000 attendees, or large outdoor gatherings of at least 10,000 attendees. Examples of a large outdoor mega event include music or food festivals, concerts, marathons, parades, and sporting events.

For indoor mega events, “verification of fully vaccinated status or pre-entry negative test result is required of all attendees” according to the California Department of Public Health. For outdoor mega events, vaccination verification or a negative COVID-19 test is strongly recommended. While theme parks are not included in the state’s list of examples of a “mega event,” it is something we’ll certainly keep our eyes on!

These requirements and recommendations will be in effect starting on June 15th and will continue through October 1st, 2021. By September 1st, the state will determine if updated requirements will be necessary beyond October 1st.

Be sure to follow along as we continue to provide the latest updates from the Disneyland Resort and the state of California as it prepares to fully reopen its economy on June 15th.

Will Disney World’s Next Creation Redeem the Watermelon Dole Whip?

Just a few months ago, we were wondering what it would take to get watermelon DOLE whip in Disney World, and then BAM! Our wish was granted!

Watermelon Dole Whip!

We’ve already tried the secret menu Minnie Dole Whip Watermelon Cup (which didn’t exactly taste like watermelon to us…) and we grabbed a cup FULL of watermelon dole whip on its own earlier this year. But now the snack will be coming BACK in a special way!

Earlier today, Disney announced that watermelon DOLE whip is coming BACK to Disney Springs at Marketplace Snacks.

And there will even be a special DOLE Whip Watermelon Parfait with Key Lime Custard that will be available starting May 26th.

©Disney

Now, we’ll be honest, the last few times we had the watermelon DOLE whip, it tasted more like bubblegum than watermelon. The flavor was a little more artificial than we had hoped for.

Will the watermelon DOLE whip taste different this time around? Will the key lime custard change the flavor of this treat and make it a new favorite for us? We’ll just have to try it to find out!

If you want to grab some watermelon DOLE whip or this DOLE Whip Watermelon Parfait with Key Lime Custard, be sure to stop by Marketplace Snacks starting May 26th. And stay tuned to DFB for more food news and reviews.

NEWS: Disneyland Will End Temperature Checks Next Month

The state of California is planning on fully reopening its economy on June 15th, effectively ending most pandemic-era restrictions on businesses and in public areas.

Disneyland

While the full extent of how the Disneyland Resort could change after June 15th has yet to be shared, Orange County Register has reported about one of the big changes both guests and Cast Members can expect.

On June 15th, the Disneyland Resort will end temperature checks for both their visitors and their employees. For guests, this includes the temperature checks at the Pixar Pals parking structure, the Downtown Disney entrance, and the Harbor Boulevard entrance.

Mickey & Friends Parking Structure

According to Orange County Register, Cast Members will still be required to conduct at-home health checks before arriving for work, which includes temperature screenings. Over on the east coast, Disney World recently ended their temperature check protocol for both Cast Members and guests.

We’ll keep an eye on any additional developments coming out of the Disneyland Resort in the coming weeks as we approach June 15th! Be sure to follow along for all of the latest news.

PHOTOS: New Gravity Falls MagicBand Mysteriously Arrives at Walt Disney World

gravity-falls-magicband-1

The latest MagicBand to hit shelves at Walt Disney World has left us feeling strange… but that may just be because it features the stars of Gravity Falls! This red MagicBand features three of the stars of the cult hit TV series that ran from 2012 to 2016. On one end, Dipper’s looking a bit odd (thanks to the holes to adjust the band). And on the other side, Mabel and her pet pig, Waddles, smile happily. The MagicBand retails […]
