REVIEW: New Prehistoric Wings Platter Soars Into Jurassic Park at Universal’s Islands of Adventure

prehistoric-wings

With Jurassic World VelociCoaster welcoming some guests ahead of its grand opening, new food and beverage items are cropping up throughout Jurassic Park in Universal’s Islands of Adventure. We tried the Isla Nublar IPA this morning, then swung by Thunder Falls Terrace for their “prehistoric” wings. A Prehistoric Wing Combo including a milkshake is available for $18.99, but we opted for the platter only. Prehistoric Wing Platter – $15.49 Char grilled chicken wings marinated with olive & spices then tossed […]

After seeing major progress last week, we had our hopes up for more changes at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. We were rewarded as there were several new developments this week. Let’s take a look at what we found! A few days ago, several new crossbar support beam sections were installed on the porte-cochére. Today, crews were working at the site with several large cranes in action. Some scaffolding remains on the ends of the structure. Crews were active on the […]

NEWS: Cruises to Alaska May Begin Again This Summer

It’s been over a year since the U.S. cruise industry halted operations due to the global health pandemic. And it’s been difficult on cruise lines ever since — even Disney admitted that cruising would be the last arm of the company to resume operations.

Disney Dream

But as more people get vaccinated, we’re starting to see the first signs that the cruise industry is ready to set sail again soon. The CDC recently stated that cruises could resume as early as mid-July in American waters. But because cruises to Alaska must sail through Canadian waters, things are a little more complicated.

Canada has initiated a cruise ship ban through 2022, which prohibits cruise ships from entering Canadian waters. Current U.S. maritime law requires international stops for ships going to Alaska, but the only ports between the U.S. and Alaska are in Canada. This prevents U.S. cruise lines from sailing to Alaska.

According to the Anchorage Daily News, though, this could change soon. The U.S. House of Representatives has passed a bill allowing ships to bypass Canada on their way to Alaska. An identical measure previously passed the Senate. After a procedural vote is held in the Senate, the bill will go to President Joe Biden, and it’s expected that he will sign it.

Alaska Cruise

This would allow U.S. cruise lines to offer trips to Alaska again, and if cruises can resume this summer, that means that Alaskan cruises could be available to book soon. As always, we’ll keep an eye on the situation and keep you updated.

We’re One (Literally) GIANT Step Closer to Disney’s Avengers Campus!

We’re SO close to stepping foot into an AVENGERS-themed land!

Avengers Campus opens in Disney California Adventure NEXT MONTH and we are so excited to sling webs on Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure and try strangely sized food at Pym Test Kitchen. Now, there’s one HUGE (like, literally, it’s very big) step towards the opening of the land!

We were exploring the Disneyland parks today when we spotted that new signage has been added in Hollywood Land near Avengers Campus. What caught out eye first? Nothing other than this GIANT ChocoSmash Chocolate Bar!

Pym Test Kitchen Signage

Now THAT’S a DFB-sized chocolate bar! Clearly, this thing has had a run-in with a few Pym particles because boy is that oversized! It’s sitting in an area that now has signage as a Pym Test Kitchen Dining Area!

Plus, nearby, we noticed that the stairs have new banners as well. Huh, we didn’t know signage to make us hungry — but there’s a first time for everything!

Of course, Avengers Campus is still blocked off for the time being, but we can’t WAIT to get in there.

Avengers Campus

As always, stay tuned to DFB for updates!

Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure is scheduled to open June 4th, and each day seems to bring new and exciting superhero discoveries. The courtyard near the Hyperion Theater, previously used as an extended queue for Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission: BREAKOUT!, has transformed into the Pym Test Kitchen Dining Area. Some Pym Test Kitchen banners and posters popped up a few days ago, but the area has really “grown” since. A new sign has been added, formally designating this […]
