Here at DFB, we work hard and we PLAY hard! And we LOVE to give you a behind-the-scenes look at Disney World, of course! We can tell you Disney World secrets even locals don’t know and what the HECK is happening with Space 220 in EPCOT.
We also LOVE to show you a little about what goes on behind the scenes here at DFB. We’ve done it in the past by showing you the INSANE lengths we go to in order to get that PERFECT food shot and we’ve walked you through a day in the life of a DFB blogger, and NOW we’re ready to show you more about our personalities and jobs in the BEST way we know how…
…by letting you know our answers to the age-old question: “If you had to put a Disney attraction to any of our team members, what would they be?”
We asked each other this personality quiz and our team’s answers were SUPER insightful!
Our Leaders
Let’s start with our fearless leader, AJ! “AJ might be The Haunted Mansion. An original classic with a twist that’s got a huge following and everyone loves it. Bonus: she always wears black,” one team member said! Another called her Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor “because it seems like it’d be scary to work for someone so successful, but really she just makes everyone laugh and buys the reporters churros!”
Next up is our Managing Editor Jessica! “Jess is Peter Pan’s Flight. She sprinkles pixie dust on everything she touches and makes the team fly. Also, she’s like Wendy…she’s the mother of this dang nursery.”
Our news manager Sierra is Splash Mountain! “She keeps things flowing and the boats from knocking into each other” as she manages the RUSH of Disney news throughout the day!
And we can’t forget about Emily, our nighttime and weekend editor! She’s definitely Space Mountain, because “She works in the dark and makes sure to navigate the team through all the unexpected drops and turns!” What would we do without her?!
Behind-the-Scenes Folks
We have a TON of people here at DFB who work behind the scenes to get the job done! You may not see their names at the top of an article on the site, but they deserve all the recognition for what they do. And we have to kick this group off by mentioning our EPCOT Festival and DFB Guidebook team!
Traci is Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, especially on festival days. She “drives the team forward and explodes out of the gate” making sure we get everything done on our incredibly long checklist! For the same reason, she could also be Star Tours, because she “jumps into lightspeed to complete the mission.”
And Kim got the title of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, considering her work on the guide has many twists and turns, but “she always gives us a happy ending.”
Wendy has been an integral part of the DFB team for a while now, so she’s definitely Carousel of Progress! “Her history with the company has helped bring DFB to where it is. And, she is always working hard to help things moving forward into the future” — what a sweet sentiment!
We also love Sarah, who was given the title of Living with the Land because “she works behind the scenes to make everything blossom into something wonderful.” A truer statement has never been heard!
And speaking of behind the scenes, we have some amazing team members who coordinate the craziness that is DFB’s many social media accounts. Kylie is our team’s Dumbo the Flying Elephant! She goes round and round (and we have NO idea how she gets it all done) but in the process, she brings a ton of happiness and joy to others.
Our other social media guru, Melissa, was compared to Expedition Everest. You know why? Because “when things go off the rails (aka unexpected Disney news at 4AM), she reacts SUPER quickly, and make sure our readers don’t have to stay in the dark!” We also thought she might be an Omnimover attraction, considering the fact that she never seems to stop working.
And last in our behind the scenes section is our lovely YouTube Manager Meghan, who we didn’t compare to an attraction, but instead dubbed the EPCOT transformation. She’s always working on the next biggest and greatest thing here at DFB, and honestly, we’re on the edge of our seats waiting to see what happens!
Writers
We have quite a few writers at DFB, and they each serve their own special purpose! Taylor is super helpful when we need to get news up FAST, so she was named Na’vi River Journey. Don’t understand why? Well, because every time she writes a hot news piece, we think “Wow, that was over quicker than I expected!”
Kelly is our Spaceship Earth — “She is SO knowledgeable, she makes sure you learn as much as possible from her posts, and she’s always pushing forward!” Plus, she’s a classic and quintessential part of the DFB team.
Robin is an excellent writer, but she’s also the best at finding all the most interesting posts for us to write. She definitely earned her title of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway because every time we’re on that ride we notice new details we’d never seen before, and that’s how Robin handles new information!
If you’ve ever met our writer Jenna, then you know that she’s definitely Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. She’s working hard all day long, and she does it with the biggest smile on her face. You can’t help but be happy when you’re working around Jenna!
And speaking of putting a smile on your face…Lydia gets the pleasure of being named Jungle Cruise. According to our team, “Not only is she going to get you through the journey and quickly and safely as possible…but she will have you laughing the entire time!” (Guilty as charged! )
Carly is one of our amazing writers, but she’s also our Disneyland Resort reporter, so it’s only fitting that she gets to be a Disneyland classic! Our vote? Pirates of the Caribbean. She’s a fan-favorite, has plenty of Disney history knowledge, and as the Disneyland queen, she deserves to be one of the best rides of all time.
Rachel doesn’t get a ride, but instead, she has been paired up with one of the most important Disney shows of all time! We consider her to be our Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room — she’s a quintessential part of our team, not to mention the fact that she’s beautiful and theatrical as well.
Reporters
Our theme park reporters probably have the most coveted job on the DFB team — they get to be at Disney World every day! They’re a HUGE part of our team as well because we wouldn’t be able to do this without them.
Our reporter Amber is a combination of two different space-themed rides, Rise of the Resistance and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. Rise of the Resistance because “she’s super dedicated to the ’cause’ even when it’s pouring down mega buckets of rain or it’s 10 pm on a weeknight.” And Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is because she’s willing to go to infinity and beyond for all of us. What a champ!
And Tina is our team’s Tower of Terror. She loves all things vintage and Halloween, she’s dignified and classy, and she’s always picture-perfect. Just light you can count on Tower of Terror to deliver an enjoyable thrill, you can count on Tina to do her job like a superstar!
Well, if you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to work with the amazing people here at DFB, then you now have your answer! We have a lot of fun putting together Disney content for our readers and followers, and we’re so thankful that you guys make this job possible!
