7 Things You Need to Know About Disney World in July

Can you believe it’s already July?!

It has been a wild year!

This year has been a pretty wild year for Disney World, with health and safety changes, reopenings, and big announcements for the 50th Anniversary. If you’re traveling to Disney World this July, there are some big things you need to know, and we’re sharing the full list with you today!

The Flower & Garden Festival Ends

After 4 months of festival fun, the 2021 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival wraps up on July 5th. So, if you’re heading to the parks before then, make sure to try all the foods still on your list and enjoy the beautiful topiaries while you can!

The Flower & Garden Festival is drawing to a close.

If you haven’t taken advantage of the show-stopping entertainment or tried out the scavenger hunts, make sure to do that in the next few days. And don’t forget to check out our “best of the fest” list!

The Food & Wine Festival Kicks Off

And shortly after the Flower & Garden Festival wraps up, the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival begins on July 15th! This year’s festival will run all the way until November 20th, 2021 and there’s going to be plenty to do and see.

Last year’s Food & Wine festival was very different!

We’ve got an excellent lineup of food booths this year, and we expect to see some returning favorites on the menus in addition to some new delicacies. There will be plenty of activities and entertainment as well, so get to planning your trip!

Here’s How to Budget for the Food & Wine Festival!

Fireworks Are Returning!

Recently Disney announced that fireworks are finally returning to the parks after more than a year-long hiatus! Two shows will be back beginning July 1st, and we can’t wait to watch them.

Fireworks are already testing!

Happily Ever After is premiering at Magic Kingdom nightly and EPCOT Forever will return to EPCOT for a limited time (until Harmonious opens on October 1st). It’s expected that the parks are going to be crowded, so be prepared if you want to visit on opening night!

Health and Safety Measures Have Changed

Recently, we’ve seen a lot of health and safety changes in Disney World. Temperature checks have disappeared, social distancing is being decreased around the resort, and masks are now optional for fully vaccinated guests in most areas.

There are some big changes happening at Disney World!

At this time, masks are still required for non-vaccinated guests indoors and all guests on Disney transportation like buses, the Skyliner, and the monorail. These procedures are frequently changing, so stay tuned to DFB to stay up-to-date!

Here’s What the New Mask Policy Looks Like in Disney World!

Disney’s Polynesian Resort is Reopening

Disney has shared that the Polynesian Village Resort will officially be opening on July 19th. When the resort reopens, the regular guest rooms will be rethemed to Moana.

We already got a peek at this room refurbishment, but we can’t wait to see the rest of the details around the resort. The monorail station is getting a complete overhaul as well, and we’ve been watching the construction closely.

A Fan-Favorite Restaurant is Reopening

Ever since the resorts first reopened in the summer of 2020, guests have been eager to dine at ‘Ohana again. (Who can blame them with those noodles and bread pudding?!) Now that the Polynesian is reopening soon, ‘Ohana has announced a reopening date as well.

We can’t wait to eat here soon!

The fan-favorite restaurant is set to reopen July 9th, with some menu modifications. The character breakfast with Lilo and Stitch will not be happening at first, and there will likely be some changes to the restaurant’s operation. We’ll be there to cover it on reopening day.

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is Reopening

And last on our list, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn finally has a reopening date. The villas have been open for quite some time, but the rest of the resort is coming back on July 2nd, 2021.

Can’t wait to check out the BoardWalk!

We’ve seen reopenings recently for the Beach Club Resort and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and Animal Kingdom Lodge is reopening in August. We’re still waiting on reopening dates for All-Star Music, All-Star Movies, Port Orleans Riverside, and Port Orleans French Quarter.
