Before the Disneyland Resort parks reopened, Disney announced that the Disneyland Annual Passholder program would be discontinued.
When the announcement was made, Disneyland President Ken Potrock said that new membership offerings were in development that would provide, “choice, flexibility, and value for our biggest fans.” Recent comments from Disney executives indicate that these new membership options could be close to making their debut.
Deadline reports that Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, recently stated that a replacement Disneyland membership program was coming “relatively soon.”
Disneyland President Ken Potrock also recently commented on the replacement program in Disneyland, saying the Resort would “clearly be launching something by the end of the year.” He also said the new program will be heavily influenced by guest demand and experience, and that park officials are evaluating research performed earlier this year.
This supports another statement made by D’Amaro, that the new program “will reflect the behavior of our superfans.”
Disney leadership has said that the new membership program is part of a larger initiative to reimagine the parks with a vision of what guests want moving forward.
We’ll continue to be on the lookout for more updates on the upcoming Disneyland membership program, so stay tuned for all of the latest details.
