How Tall Do You Have to Be to Ride Disney World’s Most Popular Roller Coasters?

When it comes to planning your Disney World trip, we try to make sure you have the best information possible for you and your family.

You must be this tall to ride.

And that includes details about what you might need to know about if you have kids, too. For example, what attractions can your kids get on while you’re visiting the most magical place on Earth? So we’ve put together a guide to give you an idea of what the height requirements are for some of Disney World’s most thrilling rides.

Magic Kingdom

We’ll start with the shortest height requirements to the tallest. Over in Storybook Circus is Barnstormer, probably one of the most kid-friendly roller coasters at Disney World. To ride this, guests must be 35 inches (89 centimeters or taller). In Fantasyland, guests must be 38 inches (97 centimeters) or taller to ride Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

The OTHER mine train, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad requires guests to be at least 40 inches (102 centimeters) tall. The same goes for Splash Mountain, too.

The other mountain, though, Space Mountain, requires guests to be at least 44 inches (113) centimeters tall — this is the tallest height requirement in Magic Kingdom.

EPCOT

The good news is that one of EPCOT’s most popular rides, Frozen Ever After, doesn’t have a height limit — any child can get on this attraction. But Test Track has a height requirement of 40 inches (102 centimeters) or taller, so keep that in mind if your child wants to ride it.

And for those who want to go Soarin’ Around The World, please note that the height requirement is 40 inches (102 centimeters or taller).

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

There are a LOT of popular thrill rides at Hollywood Studios, and they all have height requirements. Slinky Dog Dash has the lowest requirement at 38 inches (97 centimeters) or taller. But kids wanting to ride The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror must be at least 40 inches (102 centimeters) or taller.

Are you tall enough to check in to this hotel?

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, though, has one of the tallest requirements at Disney World — guests must be at least 48 inches (122 centimeters) or taller to hop on this fast and thrilling ride!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

DINOSAUR can be a little terrifying for kids, but we love going after that dino. However, guests who want to go dinosaur hunting must be at least 40 inches (102 centimeters) tall. Avatar Flight of Passage has a height requirement of 44 inches (112 centimeters) or taller.

Finally, Expedition Everest — Legend of the Forbidden Mountain forbids anyone under 44 inches (113 centimeters) to stay at the foot of the mountain.

Please remember that these height requirements are in place to keep your child safe. If your child doesn’t meet the height requirements, please do not complain to Cast Members about it, and whatever you do, don’t try to cheat the system. They’ll get there eventually, and hey, it’s yet another excuse to keep planning trips to Disney World, right?
