Disney had to make many changes when the parks reopened last year. Now that we are returning to normal park operations, more of our favorite experiences are returning! One of the rides at Magic Kingdom has brought back one part we have really missed. Pre-shows Various rides throughout the parks host pre-shows, which are fun […]
One morning during our recent stay in the newly reimagined rooms at Wilderness Lodge, we dragged ourselves out of bed for a bonkers breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe. This Walt Disney World dining review features food photos of the All-You-Care-To-Enjoy Signature Skillets, info on current hijinks, and more. Let’s start with “normal times” background info: […]
When the announcement was made, Disneyland President Ken Potrock said that new membership offerings were in development that would provide, “choice, flexibility, and value for our biggest fans.” Recent comments from Disney executives indicate that these new membership options could be close to making their debut.
Deadline reports that Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, recently stated that a replacement Disneyland membership program was coming “relatively soon.”
Josh D’Amaro in EPCOT
Disneyland President Ken Potrock also recently commented on the replacement program in Disneyland, saying the Resort would “clearly be launching something by the end of the year.” He also said the new program will be heavily influenced by guest demand and experience, and that park officials are evaluating research performed earlier this year.

This supports another statement made by D’Amaro, that the new program “will reflect the behavior of our superfans.”
“it’s a small world” in Disneyland
Disney leadership has said that the new membership program is part of a larger initiative to reimagine the parks with a vision of what guests want moving forward.
We’ll continue to be on the lookout for more updates on the upcoming Disneyland membership program, so stay tuned for all of the latest details.
Disney World is pretty famous for its creative eats, from Dole Whip concoctions to fun cupcakes to beef fat candles (yup, you heard that right). But what’s a trip to a theme park without some good ol’ POPCORN?
Well, Disney’s got plenty of that, too! And we’re here with the handy-dandy guide that’ll tell you exactly where to get ALL the popcorn you could possibly want in the parks.
Popcorn Carts
We’re gonna start with the basics. You’ll find Popcorn Carts in all 4 parks — we’ve got a full list of locations for you right here! These carts, for the most part, serve your basic, buttery variety. We’ll get into some unique flavors in a little bit! A note on Disney World’s standard butter-flavored popcorn — it’s vegan!
Popcorn Cart
Now, what’s super cool about these carts is that you can buy a refillable popcorn bucket to get discounted refills everywhere on property! You can get a Standard Refillable Popcorn Bucket for $12 (that’s your normal bucket with a design printed on it) or a Specialty Refillable Popcorn Bucket for anywhere from $18-$25. Those specialty buckets may have unique shapes — think the Millennium Falcon or a Mickey balloon!
You can pay a little extra to get popcorn buckets with special designs!
After you snag one of these buckets, your refills at any participating Popcorn Cart are $2 each (that price is the same whether you have a Standard or a Specialty Bucket). So if you’re a BIG popcorn person and know you’re going to eat a LOT of it on your vacation, you may want to invest in one of these!
Now let’s move into some more creative eats! You can find seasonal, prepackaged popcorn flavors at select locations in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Most recently, we spotted a cheesySweet and Savory Popcorn at The Market. That’s a tasty mix of Cheddar and Caramel Popcorn!
Sweet and Savory Popcorn
And a few months ago, we tried the Springtime Popcorn(aka BIRTHDAY CAKE popcorn) at the Hot and Fresh Popcorn Kiosks. And a few months before that, the seasonal flavor was Holiday Festive Popcorn(with peppermint!).
Springtime Popcorn
The moral of the story? Keep an eye out in Hollywood Studios if you’re on the hunt for some popcorn! A new, fun flavor could pop up. Of course, we’ll keep ya posted if it does.
Other Flavors
Meanwhile, in other parks, you can enjoy theBlueberry Almond Popcorn in Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom…
Blueberry Almond Popcorn – yum.
…and the prepackaged Main Street Popcorn, which comes in LOTS of flavors and is available in many gift shops on property! Your options include Kettle Corn, Parmesan Garlic, Churro, Maple Bacon, and SO much more.
Main Street Popcorn Flavors
We’ve seen specialty flavors show up around holidays, like Gingerbread at Christmastime, too! Those Main Street Popcorn bags range from $5.99-$6.99, and they’re all nice and shareable.
Now we’re moving on to FRESH popcorn…and we’re not done in Hollywood Studios just yet! Because we have to head over toKat Saka’s Kettle in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. (Note, this spot is still currently closed!) You’ll find this kiosk in the Marketplace of Black Spire Outpost! The popular snack here is the Outpost Mix. It’s a sweet ‘n’ savory combo of fruit and chili flavors, so it’s certainly a distinct choice. In fact, this flavor is pretty divisive with guests. Even on our team, some LOVE it and others? Not so much!
Outpost Popcorn Mix
If you want something a little more standard, you can opt for the Galaxy Green Popcorn! It’s your traditional, buttery popcorn with a flavorless green color — so you can still feel sorta spacey!
Galaxy Green Popcorn
If you’re planning on trying these intergalactic eats, you’ll want to keep in mind that Kat Saka’s Kettle is not always open. But it never hurts to swing by and check!
Although Big Top Souvenirs in Magic Kingdom’s Storybook Circus is currently closed, we’ve GOT to tell you about theHouse-Made Caramel Corn that’s typically up for grabs there.
Big Top Treats Caramel Corn
It’s sweet and crunchy, as popcorn should be, but we’ve gotta warn you…the Caramel Corn at EPCOT’s Karamell-Küche is possibly even better (more on that in a second!). We recommend saving your dough and spending it there if you’re in the market for caramel corn. Of course, if you’re in Magic Kingdom and craving a caramel crunch, this is your best bet!
Okay, now let’s talk about Karamell-Küche in EPCOT! The name literally translates to “caramel kitchen,” so you know we’ve got some good eats here. And the star of the show is that Caramel Corn!
Caramel Corn
It tastes (and smells!) amazing (seriously — the Germany Pavilion smells like a giant caramel air freshener and it’s amazing!), and the Werther’s Caramel that coats the popcorn is made onsite. Pro tip: stop by and you MAY be able to snag a sample before you buy, though this isn’t always a thing! And of course, while you’re in here, why not try some boozy caramel, caramel cupcakes, or caramel cookies? This remains one of our favorite snack spots in the parks for VERY good reason.
We’re stopping by another World Showcase country for another popcorn variation! Next up is the Maple Popcorn from (ya guessed it) the Canada Popcorn Cart. Typically, you can ONLY find this stuff here, so it makes for a worthy stop if you’re looking to try a unique flavor.
Canada Popcorn Cart
While the maple flavoring isn’t super prominent, this popcorn is super yummy and sweet. And the texture is more like kettle corn than your traditional buttery popcorn, so that may be a plus for you, too! Bonus that it’s popped fresh here too!
Maple Popcorn
Now, we mentioned it was typically only found in the Canada Pavilion because sometimes, this little flavor will pop up in Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland! So keep an eye out.
However, there are currently NO gourmet flavors available here — just your normal variety! We’re keeping an eye out for their return, though, and we’ll keep you posted. Sometimes, you’ll also catch these options in the Odyssey Center (by the EPCOT Experience)!
Next time you’re craving popcorn, plan a pit stop and get to snackin’! Let us know where YOUR favorite popcorn is in Disney World, and stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news!

Due to physical distancing, the classic stretching room pre-show for The Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom has not been operating for the past year. Instead, the stretching room doors were left open and it acted as a section of queue, so guests were still able to see the stretched portraits. Now that physical distancing is gone, the famous scene has finally returned in all its glory. The Haunted Mansion is a popular destination this morning. The wait time was 30 […]
Now, Disney announced another BIG change, and this one means you’ll soon see a lot more smiling faces on Cast Members at Disney World. Face coverings are now optional for Cast Members who are fully vaccinated while they are working outdoors. In fact, we ran into one such smiling Cast Member this morning at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Meet David!
According to @wdw.ambassador on Instagram, “It feels great to take this step forward as we continue to make intentional and gradual changes to our health and safety protocols.”
And as things continue to change in the parks, we’ll keep you updated! So stay tuned! And if you’re headed to Disney World, be sure to offer your own smiles and “thank you’s” to the Cast Members who work so hard to make every day at Disney World so magical.

If you’ve never used a discount to book a Disney World vacation, we’re about to help you out a TON. At any given time, there are usually multiple discounts and deals listed on the Disney World website. All you need to do is scroll to the bottom of the page and look for the section that says “Special Offers.”
The other important thing to remember about special offers is that if there aren’t any you can use when you book your vacation, they may still pop up later! And if you find an offer that works with your trip after you’ve already booked, you may be able to get it added on after the fact.
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
If you find that there’s a new offer that fits your vacation dates, then you can call Disney to have it added on to your current package. In some cases, you might need to cancel and rebook your trip with the discount you’d like, so be sure to check with Disney first. Remember, these deals are often subject to availability, so don’t delay if one pops up!
Before you book a Disney World vacation, there’s a lot of research that you’ll need to do to make sure you’re fully educated. First of all, you’ll need to decide if you want to stay on-siteor off-site. And if you decide to stay on-site, then will you stay in a Disney Resort or in one of the non-Disney hotels like Hilton, Marriot, or Four Seasons?
Next up, you’ll need to decide on a budget. (Actually, this should really be the FIRST thing you do to help inform that hotel decision!) Disney Resorts have three price categories: value, moderate, and deluxe, each with its own amenities and benefits.
You can also research which area of the Walt Disney World Resort you’d like to stay in. Some hotels are closer to parks and have better transportation options, so make sure to look into that if that’s something you’re interested in!
Who doesn’t want animals right outside their room?!
Researching isn’t limited to hotels either — look up what you want to do in all the parks ahead of time. Get everyone in the family involved in this too — especially kiddos! Figure out must-do rides, food, and more for each person before you go so you can plan your days accordingly to please everyone in your group.
There are so many things to consider before you even book your resort, but don’t worry, here at DFB we have all the tips to help you succeed!
When you book your vacation, make sure to link everything to your online Disney account, My Disney Experience. (And make an account if you don’t already have one!) Once it’s all linked, download the My Disney Experience app to your smartphone.
Since Disney World reopened, all the important health and safety information is located on the website’s Know Before You Go page. Here, you’ll also find important details on what attractions, hotels, and restaurants are still closed.
When Disney’s Dining Plan is available, don’t just buy it because you think you have to!It’s not always a good deal (Disney wouldn’t try and sell it to you if it didn’t make them money in the long run!), so it’s important to run the numbers before you purchase and see if it will benefit your family.
You definitely want to crunch those numbers before buying the dining plan!
Typically, you’ll pay more for the plan than you’d actually spend on food or you’ll end up paying for more food than you will actually eat. Unless you’re looking to buy the priciest foods off the menus everywhere you go or coming with a voracious appetite, you might not get the most out of it. It’s perfectly okay to buy it — and many families use it to the max and get a great value out of it — just make sure that you know what you’re paying for!
There you have it — common mistakes that people make when booking their Disney World trips. Now that you know what NOT to do, you’ll be set up for success when planning your next vacation! If you’d like more advice and planning tips, make sure to follow along with DFB for the latest!

Welcome to another beautiful day at the Universal Orlando Resort! It’s Friday and we’re ready to start the weekend here in the parks. Let’s see what’s new today. Yesterday, Universal Orlando announced that Jack would be returning for Halloween Horror Nights 30. A new shirt arrived yesterday, but was sold out this morning. Never fear, they would be restocked later in the afternoon. We even heard there will be new shirts released over the next few weeks leading up to […]
