Review: BACON CUPCAKE Alert in Disney World! 🥓

If you love bacon, then this is a good time to visit Disney World!!

Polynesian Lobby

Recently, the Bacon of DOOM dish (a.k.a. EPIC chocolate-covered bacon) returned to Disney Springs. Earlier this month, we also got to try the limited time bacon & bourbon spiked shake in Disney’s Art of Animation Resort (it’ll be there through this month so act fast). But now ANOTHER bacon treat has made its way to Disney World — specifically in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort — and this time it’s in the form of a cupcake!

Introducing the Father’s Day Cupcake! This specialty cupcake is one you’ll find over at Capt. Cook’s (a quick service spot at the Poly). The treat is made of a vanilla cupcake with caramel and bacon filling and cream cheese icing, topped with candied bacon, and chocolate pieces on top.

Fathers’ Day Cupcake

Here’s a full look at the ingredients in case you’re curious.

But, more importantly, here’s a look at that candied bacon! Bacon lovers rejoice!!!

BACON!

We could smell the cream cheese and bacon coming from this cupcake and our mouths immediately started watering.

Time to Eat!

What’s great is that the filling itself has bacon pieces in it. It adds a nice texture difference.

Look at That Filling

The mix of the caramel, cream cheese, and candied bacon brought a nice balance of sweet and salty to this treat.

Just Look at That Bacon

If you’re a big fan of cupcakes and bacon, then this might be a treat you’ll want to check out! It is a limited time offering though, so be sure to hop over to the Polynesian before it’s gone. You can grab it for $5.99.

5 BIG Closures in Disney World Next Week

Sometimes, we’ll see closures around Disney World.

Walt Disney World Railroad

These can be caused by maintenance or refurbishment —  and if you’re heading into the parks, you’ll want to know what projects are goin’ on! So today, we’re bringing you our weekly refurbishment update for June 21st-27th, 2021.

Magic Kingdom Refurbishments

Hall of Presidents

The Hall of Presidents closes each time a new U.S. President is elected, in order to install a new animatronic. They’re currently working on President Joe Biden’s — nothin’ out of the ordinary here!

The Hall of Presidents

Disney hasn’t announced an opening timeline just yet, but we’ll let you know when they do!

Learn More About the Hall of Presidents’ Refurbishment!

Walt Disney World Railroad

In other Magic Kingdom news, the Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed for over 2 YEARS! That’s because construction on TRON: Lightcycle Run is currently blocking its path around the park.

The Main Street Train Station is rockin’ some scrim in the meantime!

So when could we see this fan-favorite train return? Well, TRON construction has likely been delayed, so there’s no way of knowing for sure. But we’ll keep ya posted with any updates!

Check out the Main Street Station’s Makeover!

Main Street Confectionery

Our last stop in Magic Kingdom is on Main Street, U.S.A., where Main Street Confectionery is closed for a BIG refurbConstruction walls are up, which means this is serious business, folks. But never fear: throughout the closure you’ll be able to snag all your favorite sweet treats at Main Street Cinema.

No gettin’ to the candy here!

Disney hasn’t announced when this shop will reopen, but we’ll keep a lookout for any updates! And if you’re visiting this section of the park, you’ll wanna keep in mind that The Chapeau is currently closed, too.

Check Out What Main Street Confectionery Will Be Like When it Reopens!

Disney World Resort Refurbishments

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Onto some hotels! We’re kicking things off at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, where a HUGE transformation is taking place. A resort-wide reimagining means we’re getting changes to the main entrance, lobby, and monorail station. At this time, the monorail station is closed.

Check out that new roof!

Meanwhile, the guest rooms are getting a Moana-inspired makeover! Don’t they look incredible?!

©Disney

You’ll be able to stay in these refurbished rooms beginning July 19th (and you can book your reservation now!). The rest of the construction will finish up this summer as well — and one of our FAVORITE restaurants, ‘Ohana, is reopening on July 9th!

Here’s How to Book a Room at a Reopened Polynesian!

Disney’s Contemporary Resort

We’re wrappin’ things up at Disney’s Contemporary Resort! Over here, the Main Tower Guest Rooms are being refurbished. These are (naturally) unavailable for booking, but the rest of the hotel’s amenities are business as usual. We spoke with a Cast Member who confirmed that the project should wrap up by the end of September.

Contemporary Construction

But if you’re visiting this summer, you’ll want to keep in mind that The Wave restaurant is closing for refurbishment in July.

The Wave

Just somethin’ to note, friends!

Learn More About the Refurb at Disney’s Contemporary Resort!

And that wraps up this week’s refurbishment update! We’ll continue to keep ya in the loop with all the latest Disney news, so stay tuned to DFB.
