Review: Where to Find EPIC Chocolate-Covered Bacon in Disney World!

Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar in Disney Springs is a great place to go if you want a little adventure with your drinks!

Head on into the Hangar Bar!

If you’re a big Indiana Jones fan, you’ll know that this bar is named after his pilot in Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jock Lindsey. We just found out that the bar is bringing back a super fun item for a limited time: The Bacon of Doom! So of course, we had to rush on over to Jock Lindsey’s to give it a try!

This is the Bacon of Doom! The name is a little intimidating, but it’s just the bar’s Temple of Bacon dish a little more jazzed up!

Look at that presentation!

It features thick-cut applewood-smoked bacon dipped in milked chocolate and chipotle ganache from the delicious Ganachery at Disney Springs!

Chocolate covered bacon

The difference with the Bacon of Doom is that it’s served with your choice of a shareable smoked cocktail! Uh, yes, please!!

Pair your bacon with a nice cocktail!

You can choose between the Trusty Revolver, which has Bulleit Rye Whiskey, Tipplers Orange Liqueur, and Luxardo Cherries, or the Snake Bite Margarita, which is Herradura Reposado Tequila, Ancho Reyes Chile Liqueur, and Tipplers Orange Liqueur, with Sweet-and-Sour, and Lime Juice. Both cocktails are smoked and served with an ice sphere.

Time to pour!

We chose the Trusty Revolver as our cocktail, and the presentation was SO EXCITING. They completely cover up the drink and bacon with a large glass lid and fill it with smoke.

Look at all that smoke!

Then, the lid is lifted and the cocktail and bacon are revealed!

Smokey goodness

Here’s a full look at the lid coming off!

The Trusty Revolver was really good, it was smooth with a slight hint of the orange liqueur and the Bulleit Whiskey was so tasty.

A perfect pair

However, the drink IS meant to be shared, it’s a lot for just one person, so be careful!

Click here to see our Temple of Bacon review!

Moving on to the bacon, it had great heat from the chipotle ganache and the bits of bacon and salt sprinkled on top were such a decadent touch, we loved it!

Baconnnnn

The milk chocolate gives you the perfect mix of salty and sweet, and the heat from the chipotle ganache really takes the bacon up a notch.

So good!

This dish is $32, so while that may seem a little pricey, you are technically getting the bacon plus two cocktails, since the drink is big enough to easily be shared. We think the price is worth the whole experience of the smoke presentation and delicious bacon! If you want to try the Bacon of Doom, it’s only available until September 6th, so act fast!! Stay tuned to DFB for more exciting snacks we find around Disney!

What’s New in EPCOT: An Updated Mask Policy and a Missing Sweet Treat

Welcome back to EPCOT!

Hi, Mickey!

We recently noticed a couple changes on our trips around Future World and the World Showcase, so we have a super quick update for you! Let’s get started.

EPCOT Food Updates

Refreshment Outpost

There is no longer banana soft serve on the menu at Refreshment Outpost, which can be found between the China and Germany pavilions!

We miss you, banana

The menu says “seasonal flavors” underneath the soft serve item, so maybe we’ll see a new flavor pop up!

What seasonal flavor will be next?

For now, you can still get chocolate and vanilla soft serve, but that’s just not as exciting.

EPCOT Additional Updates

Masks

As of June 15th, masks were no longer required for vaccinated guests in most areas in Disney World. We got to see the new mask rules in action at EPCOT recently.

Italy Pavilion

The biggest difference we saw was many guests no longer wearing masks in stores and on rides. However, the outdated mask signage was still up in some places around the park.

Time to replace the sign!

Even though we did notice some signs to put on your masks indoors, Cast Members were letting guests know that they didn’t have to wear them.

U.K. Pavilion

We did still see a decent amount of guests wearing masks in EPCOT though.

You can read more about these mask changes here.

Skyliner

The Skyliner was down for a period of time due to weather, we saw this sign while leaving the International Gateway.

Too many storms for the Skyliner

That’s all we have for you from EPCOT! We’re in the parks alllll the time, so we’ll keep you updated with anything new we see, stay tuned to DFB!

FIRST LOOK: Wine Country Trattoria Reopens in Disneyland Resort!

More and more restaurants are starting to open up again in Disneyland, and today we’re checking out the reopened Wine Country Trattoria!

Wine Country Trattoria

This restaurant is located in Disney California Adventure and features a menu that is inspired by Napa Valley, so of course, there’s LOTS of wine! We stopped by the restaurant for lunch to see what it’s like and we’re bringing you a first look inside! Let’s get to it!

Seating

When we first arrived, we checked into our reservation through the Disneyland app. This has become a pretty standard practice in the parks. Then, we headed inside!

Time to head inside!

We were seated out on the patio

…where the tables quickly filled up!

It’s getting busy!

It looks like this restaurant is being filled to capacity.

Menu

Once seated, Cast Members directed us to the QR code that was on our table to get a look at the menu.

We were also handed a paper copy!

Paper Menu

The menu features a small selection of appetizers and quite a few entree items including Spaghetti Bolognese with Meatballs, Rib-Eye Steak, and Spaghetti Aglio Olio.

Plus, there are also some dessert and kids’ menu options and LOTS of wine. 🍷

For our meal, we opted for the Rustic Bruschetta

So…Disney World Just Brought Back That Old Mustache Trend

It’s almost Father’s Day!

Disney Springs

We’ve already been celebrating with cookie dough cupcakes and a funny Darth Vader cake, but there are more sweet treats to check out. And if you’ll be in Disney Springs over the next few days, there’s ANOTHER cupcake for you to try!

Erin McKenna’s Bakery NYC whips up tasty vegan goodies, and they’ve got a limited-time cupcake for Father’s Day! The Father’s Day Mustache Cupcake features — ya guessed it — fun mustache decor, and it looks prettyyy yummy. (Also, we’re kinda getting a throwback to 2012.).

This treat is vegan AND gluten-free, and it’ll be available through June 22nd (or while supplies last). Go give it a try, and stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news!

PHOTOS: More Festival Booths Installed at EPCOT for 2021 International Food & Wine Festival

food-and-wine-booth3-6834223

Lately we’ve seen several booths installed overnight at EPCOT for the upcoming Food & Wine Festival, and today we found a few more. Let’s take a look. We spotted this booth near the China pavilion, on the bridge over to the Africa section. It’s unclear what this booth will be the home of currently, but the mosaic tile pattern is quite appealing. This booth will be home to The Alps booth. Last year in addition to Spain, this booth only […]
