Review: You Can Add Booze (?!) to Disney World’s New Cake

We love a good cocktail and we love cake…so how about a cake that’s ALSO got booze?!

Disney Springs

As it turns out, we know exactly where to find one! Now, Disney Springs is home to plenty of fun drinks and sweet treats, but at Amorette’s Patisserie, they’re servin’ up both in one. And of course, we had to give it a try!

The Pina Colada Cheesecake is JUST what it sounds like, friends. You’ll get a N.Y.-style Pina Colada cheesecake on a graham cracker crust with coconut mousse, grilled pineapple, and sweetened toasted coconut. You’ll also get a maraschino cherry!

Pina Colada Cheesecake

But the coolest part? This treat is topped with a heart filled with Malibu Rum that you can squeeze out onto your cake!

Pina Colada Cheesecake

We REALLY enjoyed this cake. The cheesecake itself actually has bits of coconut and pineapple inside of it to add an extra tropical touch, so you will want to enjoy fruity flavors. You’ll also wanna be a Pina Colada fan…but more on the booze in here later. Our only critical note is that the graham cracker crust was a tiny bit soggy. But that definitely didn’t take away how much we enjoyed this treat!

Here’s a closer look!

Okay, now let’s get into that rum. We squeezed ours out onto the cake

Time for the RUM!

…and then gave it a try! Now, even though this is a little heart, there’s pure alcohol in there, so you’re definitely gonna have a bit of a boozy taste. Like we mentioned, it screamed Pina Colada to us!

YUM!

We do wish there was a non-alcoholic option. Sure, you could just remove the heart before squeezing it, but there’s a chance some rum could seep into the cheesecake anyway. We’d love to see somethin’ for kids!

This tasted like a Pina Colada!

Still, this was a SOLID eat. If you wanna give this treat a try, swing by Amorette’s Patisserie! And of course, stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney news.

Another Pre-Show Is BACK in Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

Over the last week, we’ve seen some MAJOR changes in Disney World, the most prominent being the change to face masks now being optional for fully vaccinated guests as well as the loosening of physical distancing guidelines.

Animal Kingdom

With physical distancing feeling more and more like a thing of the past in Disney World, we’re starting to see some big updates on our favorite rides and attractions, including the adding BACK of pre-shows. We already saw the pre-show come back to Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, but today we’re heading to Disney’s Animal Kingdom for another pre-show!

That’s right! Over at DinoLand USA, the pre-show has returned to Dinosaur! And of course, we hopped in line to say hello to Dr. Grant Seeker.

Let’s go get that dino!

Previously, the pre-show would play on a constant loop, and guests would move through the room via social distancing markers. Now, though, everyone will file into the room and remain there while the pre-show plays from start to finish — just as it did pre-COVID.

It’s Dr. Seeker!

As you can see, social distancing markers have been removed from the floor, too.

No More Social Distancing Markers

However, those markers remain in the line outside of the pre-show room.

We’re pretty happy to hear alllll about Dr. Seeker’s adventures again! We’ll be on the lookout for even more pre-shows returning to rides and attractions around Disney World in the coming days and weeks!
