TWO Disney World Parks Are SOLD OUT for July 4th!

The 4th of July is just around the corner, and LOTS of folks are planning to spend the holiday in Disney World it seems.

©Disney

We’ve been keeping a close eye on the availability of Disney Park Passes for the coming months and we expected Magic Kingdom and EPCOT to book up FAST on the 4th of July. With fireworks returning and holidays being a draw on their own, Independence Day is in high demand. Now, it seems availability is GONE for two Disney World parks on the 4th.

Though park passes were recently made available again for the month of July, both EPCOT and Magic Kingdom are now completely unavailable on July 4th.

©Disney

Across all ticket categories — regular ticketholders, select resort hotel guests, and Annual Passholders — EPCOT and Magic Kingdom are now unavailable. At the time of writing, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom remain available.

©Disney

As a reminder, fireworks return to Disney World on July 1st with Happily Ever After in Magic Kingdom and EPCOT Forever in EPCOT. Fireworks are a special part of the 4th of July for many, so we can see why the two parks with confirmed shows are filled.

We have seen park passes become available after filling up so we’ll be keeping a close eye on the 4th of July. Stay tuned to DFB so you don’t miss any of the updates!

Where to Find the SPICIEST Food in Disney World

When it comes to spicy food, most of us understand that there’s REAL spicy and…then there’s Disney spicy.

HOT!

And of course, Disney’s version of spicy food is usually tamed down to appeal more to the masses. But there are still some places at Disney World where you can get the real deal — the kind of food that will have steam coming out of your ears and make you break out into a sweat.

We’ve put together a list of some of our favorites restaurants at Disney World serving up spicy fare, as well as some of our favorite super spicy foods and drinks! They might not be tipping the Scoville scale, but they are still hot enough to make you reach for some water.

Sanaa

So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that you can get some genuinely spicy food at Sanaa, which is located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. The flavors here are African and Indian-inspired, after all, and that occasionally involves food with just a little bit of heat, as these cuisines often do. So let’s take our favorite thing here, the Bread Service. It comes with NINE dips, some of which bring the heat — we love the Red Chile Sambal and Spicy Jalapeño-Lime Pickle Dips.

Can we get more sauce please?

They’re not HOT hot, but still bring a little bit of kick. But some of the protein dishes also have a spicy kick. The Goan Seafood Curry is full of spicy flavor, as are the Biryani dishes. Sanaa USED to serve a Durban Shrimp that was actually, surprisingly, VERY spicy. Like, it caught us off guard and made your mouth burn for a WHILE.

China Booth

So one of our favorite items at the China Booth during the 2019 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays (Called Shanghai Holiday Kitchen at this fest) AND last year’s EPCOT Food and Wine Festival is the Chengdu Street Fries. Yep, just a simple pile of french fries. But GUYZ, the sauce on these fries tho.

Crispy Fried Shrimp on Chengdu Street Fries

The sauce is a spicy chili oil-based sauce, so that heat would build and LAST. Even those of us that LOVE spicy were surprised what a kick these had! The booth added shrimp to the EPCOT Festival of the Arts version of the fries (where the booth is called the Painted Panda), and we totally thought it turned the entire snack up a notch. So if you’re craving some spicy food at one of EPCOT’s festivals, hopefully these will make a comeback in future festivals!

Vibrante & Vivido

This year’s EPCOT Festival of the Arts brought some heat with the Vibrante & Vivido food booth! Here we discovered the Blue Corn Pupusa stuffed with Cheese and topped with Shredded Pork, Guajillo, and Árbol Chile Sauce, Cabbage Slaw, and Aji Amarillo. You wouldn’t know it, but this one packed a punch!

Blue Corn Pupusa at Vibrante and Vivido Booth

The sauce is what gave it a nice spicy kick! And we liked how the slaw balanced all the flavors out. This isn’t face-meltingly hot, but it packed a punch!

Nine Dragons Restaurant

Note: At the moment, Nine Dragons Restaurant is temporarily closed.

There’s an unassuming restaurant at EPCOT in the China Pavilion that serves up some spicy food — Nine Dragons. We’ve liked the Spicy Honey Crispy Chicken in the past. But the Spicy Mala Beef and the Spicy Mala Chicken are described as “numbingly spicy.” Needless to say…we were intrigued.

Yes, it was spicy

And the description didn’t lie, although we might argue that this was only spicy if you’re comparing it to usual Disney spicy. But it did make our lips a little numb, so there’s that.

City Works Eatery & Pour House

Over at Disney Springs, City Works is cooking up a few spicy dishes. And we’re big fans of the flamin’ hot Scorpion Burger, which lives up to its name. It’s topped with habanero pepper jack, jalapeños, five pepper jam, arugula, vine-ripened tomato, and scorpion pepper aioli. Yep. HHHOOOOOTTTTT.

That’s a spicy burger

We also found another item here that made our lips burn – the  Tex Mex Mac N’ CheeseIt’s spicy chorizo with roasted jalapeno, pepper jack cheese sauce, crispy tortilla strips, cilantro, and cavatappi pasta. And it brought the heat, too. You can also find some Nashville hot items here. Oh, yeah!

Nomad Lounge

Nomad Lounge is one of our favorite places to grab a bite and a drink at Disney’s Animal Kingdom for good reason. From the food to the drinks, we’ve rarely been disappointed here.  There are also some seriously spicy items on the menu! The Togarashi-spiced Tuna Nomad Bowl brings a kick to our taste buds. The tuna packed more of a punch than we expected!

Togarashi-spiced Tuna Nomad Bowl

And although it’s not always on the menu, if you ever get a chance to try the Spicy Mango Margarita, be prepared — it comes with A WHOLE JALAPENO.

Earl of Sandwich

Okay, so we bet you didn’t expect to see Earl of Sandwich on this list, but it’s here for one reason: the Chipotle Chicken Avocado Sandwich. The chipotle sauce on this sandwich will almost burn your tongue (and we’re here for it). This sandwich is loaded with chicken, avocado, bacon, cheddar, lettuce, and that chipotle sauce.

But don’t take our word for it — be sure to try it for yourself. If you dare… .

Frontera Cocina

As a Mexican restaurant, it makes sense that Frontera Cocina would have some spicy food. From the Chipotle Chicken Flautas to the Grilled Chicken Chipotle, you’re going to get some food with a kick here. But the HOTTEST thing on the menu (we think) is the Play With Fire Margarita.

Play with Fire Margarita

This is Cucumber, jalapeño, fresh lime juice, agave nectar, hibiscus salt rim, and your choice of Montelobos Mezcal or Maestro Dobel tequila. And yes, it lives up to its name.

La Cantina de San Angel

Interestingly enough, the spiciest Mexican food at EPCOT isn’t at San Angel Inn or La Hacienda de San Angel, the pavilion’s resident sit-down restaurants, but rather at its counter service restaurant, La Cantina de San Angel. For us, it’s the Pescado Taco, which surprisingly brings some heat!

Pescado Taco

The Pescado Taco is made with fried fish with slaw and Habanero aioli, wrapped in a corn tortilla. That habanero aioli adds a little bit of heat and a LOT of flavor.

Retail Locations

So there’s something pretty spicy that you can find in many candy stores and shops around Disney World (seriously!). It’s the Stitch’s Extreme Heat Spicy Mango Gummy Candy. And yeah, you might not think that a gummy candy could make your mouth feel like it’s on fire, but these babies will leave you out of breath.

Stitch Gummies

This is one of our reporter’s absolute favorite candies in Disney World because they pack a surprisingly strong punch!

Does This New Gummy Candy in Disney World Count as Eating Your Veggies?

So now you know where the spiciest food can be found at Disney World, but don’t say we didn’t warn you. We have a pretty high tolerance for heat, so if you’re wanting something a little milder, you might want to proceed with caution.

Disney World’s 50th anniversary is coming up SOON!

Spaceship Earth ©Disney

And there is LOTS of look forward to on the special day. October 1st marks the debut of an 18-month celebration, the grand opening of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and La Crêperie de Paris in EPCOT (as well as some new Food and Wine Festival booths!), and new costumes for Mickey and Minnie. As you can imagine, it’s going to be a popular time to visit the parks! And if you’re hoping to join the fun, we’ve got an update you should know about.

Guests need a Park Pass reservation in addition to a valid ticket for each day they’re visiting the parks. Park Passes for October 1st have been going FAST — but there’s still some availability! While Magic Kingdom is booked up for all tickets types, there is still availability in the other 3 parks for Theme Park Ticket Guests

©Disney

…and select Resort Hotel Guests. That means you can swing by EPCOT to visit the grand opening of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure or chow down on some new festival eats.

However, spots for Annual Passholders are still completely full for all 4 parks.

If you DO want to make a reservation for October 1st, you’ll want to do so ASAP. These Park Passes are snatched up FAST. Now, Disney has been known to refill Park Pass availability (and has already done so for October 1st), so we might see spots open up again. We’ll let you know if they do! And lastly, if you have a Park Hopper ticket, you can Park Hop after 2PM, providing the park you want to visit isn’t at capacity.

Good luck booking those Park Passes! And stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news.
