That’s right, friends: Disneyland Paris reopens today! And what makes this reopening extra special is that it’s the first time in 17 months that ALL of Disney’s parks around the world are open at the same time. Pretty cool, right?! Of course, Disney had to celebrate with a touching video. Take a look!
We’re seeing lots of changes around Disneyland Paris, too. The Cars ROAD TRIP ride opens today in Walt Disney Studios Park, whileDisney’s Hotel New York — The Art of Marvel will open on June 21st. There are also a few modified operations similar to what we’ve seen in other Disney parks, like Mobile Order and online check-in to hotels.

Disney World resort room renovations: words that can strike fear in the hearts of die-hard Disney fans. After seeing the sterile look of renovated rooms at Pop Century and the All-Star Resorts, with a lack of character and Disney magic, I was fearful of what would happen to my beloved Wilderness Lodge rooms. I have been staying at the Wilderness Lodge for 20 years and have loved the charm of the bed posts with cute woodland creatures and the Disney forest animals in the shower tiles. Yes, they were a bit outdated and needed a spruce, but I was still scared of what the rooms would look like when all was said and done.
After staying at Wilderness Lodge for the grand reopening on June 6, 2021, I can say I was pleasantly surprised with the new renovated rooms. My husband and I stayed in a king bed room. Here are my thoughts about the new look.
While the bed no longer has the cute bed posts with critters, the new headboard still carries the Pacific Northwest theme of the resort. The outer part of the headboard is wood, a common theme throughout the new rooms, and the center is texturized to look like arrows. The bed has a backlight which you can dim. Each side of the bed has reading lights built into the headboard.
The accent wall behind the bed is covered in trees and Chip and Dale make a guest appearance! I did have a big complaint about the bed. It was as hard as a rock. If you like extremely firm beds, you will love it, but for me, it was extremely uncomfortable. One other complaint was that only one side of the bed had a nightstand. The other side of the bed was near the desk. While it was close enough that you could put things on it, a nightstand on each side of the bed would have been preferable.
There are several seating areas around the room, all of which fit very well with the Pacific Northwest Theme. There is a red chair with leather and wood accents and ottoman between the nightstand and the balcony. Directly across from it is a blue patterned chair next to a small table. This table had a smaller pull out table underneath it. On the other side of the bed is a wooden desk with a patterned chair.
There are several wall decorations in the room that make the room feel more Disney. One of my favorite features of the room is a light that is between the bathroom and bedroom wall. This light looks like a geode and can be dimmed. There are a couple of different pictures hanging in the room. One of them is a picture of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox. This picture hangs between two wall lights that fit the Wilderness Lodge theme perfectly. Another picture hangs in the bathroom and shows various totem poles.
There is also a decal behind the coffee bar of a forest scene with Bambi. Finally, there is a mirror behind the desk which is uniquely shaped and framed in wood.
The bathroom was beautifully remodeled. I loved the light-colored quartz-like counter top that was used on the wooden bathroom vanity.
Wood also carried through into the shower with a wood tile accent wall along with regular tile walls. There is a dual shower head now, with both a rainfall and handheld shower head available. The refillable shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers have been screwed to the wall. The trash cans, tissue box, and soap holder are all wood.
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay in the newly remodeled rooms at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Now that it has reopened, are you planning a stay at this beautiful resort?
