Over 15 Rides Temporarily CLOSED Right Now in Disney World Due to Storm

Heads up if you’re in Disney World right now!

Magic Kingdom

We’ve seen severe weather before in the parks, and it looks like we’ve got some more rolling in now. When storms arrive, particularly with heavy lightning, we can see rides or forms of transportation in Disney World go down temporarily. And that’s exactly what we’re seeing right now for ALL 4 Disney World theme parks. Let’s take a look!

Just about 15 minutes ago, we took a look at the My Disney Experience app and noticed that a WHOLE bunch of rides throughout Disney World’s theme parks were temporarily closed!

©Disney

Everything from Frozen Ever After in EPCOT to Journey Into Imagination with Figment has been impacted.

©Disney

And it’s not just outdoor rides that have been impacted. Indoor attractions, like Pirates of the Caribbean and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, have also been affected.

According to a Cast Member who we spoke with, there was a power surge. This appears to have caused many of these indoor rides to close.

Note that just minutes after we took these screenshots some rides became available again. For example, as of 2:45PM ET, the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is showing a 30 minute standby wait (as opposed to being temporarily unavailable as shown in the screenshot below). But, many of the attractions shown here do continue to be closed.

If you’re in Disney World right now, be aware that many of these attractions are unavailable at the moment. Disney hasn’t shared when they’ll become available again. Be sure to check on your My Disney Experience app for more updates and stay tuned to us here at DFB for more news.

Review: Peach Cobbler Fans! You NEED to Try Disney World’s New Cupcake

We’ve gotten big news on fireworks, masks, and more today, and we need to stop for a SNACK!

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

The recently reopened Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness Resort next door are some of our favorite spots to head for an unexpectedly tasty treat. We’ve tried some delicious coffee and some summery eats…and now we’re back for a brand-new treat.

Introducing the Peach Melba Cupcake!

Peach Melba Cupcake

But be warned: all is not as it seems with this little guy. While the Roaring Fork menu on the My Disney Experience app says that this treat is a peach melba and raspberry cupcake with a peach filling, that raspberry is nowhere to be found. Instead, you’ll get a vanilla cupcake with peach filling!

Peach Melba Cupcake

The vanilla cupcake base was moist and delicious — but due to its shape, it can’t hold a ton of filling.

YUM!

However, the filling we had was perfectly light, like a peach pie! It was chilled and sprinkled with oats, and had a white chocolate decorative stripe. The edges were toasted meringue, and it gave us MAJOR campfire vibes.

The filling is SO good.

This was SUPER tasty, guys. Like we told ya, it’s perfectly moist — we didn’t get a single dry bite. If you’re a peach cobbler fan, you’re going to want to give this a try.

We’d grab this again!

You can snag the Peach Melba Cupcake for $5.99 at Roaring Fork. Enjoy this summery dessert, and stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news and reviews!

FIRST LOOK: Masks Are No Longer Required in Most Disneyland Resort Locations

LOTS of changes are happening at Disneyland Resort today.

Sleeping Beauty Castle

The parks opened to out-of-state guests, temperature checks have been suspended, and face masks are no longer required for fully vaccinated guests (in most circumstances). And of course, we’re at Disneyland Resort to check it all out for ya.

Before we dig in, we want to refresh your memory on Disneyland’s updated mask guidelines. Fully vaccinated guests are no longer required to wear face coverings indoors or outdoors. Unvaccinated guests should continue to wear masks while indoors. And while Disneyland will not require proof of vaccination, guests are required to verbally state that they are in compliance upon park entry.

Some masks still in the crowd!

Lastly, face coverings will be required for ALL guests, regardless of vaccination status, on the bus to and from the Toy Story parking lot once that reopens on June 18th.

©Disney

Phew! Now let’s take a trip around Disneyland to check out this latest policy in effect. Walking into the parks, we already saw the first signs of guests following the new rules.

Guests entering from Disneyland’s Grand Californian

Then we headed into World of Disney to see if people were still wearing masks inside or not. We saw a little bit of both.

Inside World of Disney

Some guests decided to still wear masks while inside.

Inside World of Disney

Overall, there seemed to be more people not wearing masks than those who were.

Inside World of Disney

The social distancing markers were gone in line at World of Disney…

No more markers!

…but a lot of people were still waiting in line spaced out.

Staying spaced!

Cast Members confirmed that the one-way in and out is gone at the stores, guests can enter and exit through whichever doors they like.

Come on in!

We’ll continue to keep an eye on the situation at Disneyland Resort as policies adjust further. Stay tuned to DFB for the latest news!

PHOTOS: Disneyland Resort Officially Opens to Out-of-State Guests

SO much is happening right now at Disneyland. It wasn’t even that long ago when the resort reopened, but since then, we’ve also seen the reopenings of several restaurants, and the grand opening of Avengers Campus!

Sleeping Beauty Castle

But updates continue to happen at Disneyland and now there’s been a HUGE update about who can actually visit the parks!

Previously, Disneyland Resort was only open to residents of California. Other theme parks in the area, though, like Universal Studios Hollywood, allowed guests from out-of-state, as long as they could provide proof that they were fully vaccinated according to the state of California’s regulations.

Disneyland

However, we recently learned that Disneyland would begin to allow out-of-state guests as of June 15th — that’s today. Out-of-state visitors are not required to be vaccinated, but the State of California does recommend vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test.

Out-of-State Guests Are Allowed Back!

Today was one of the busiest days we’ve seen since Disneyland’s reopening with HUGE crowds heading into Disneyland. Along with the temperature checks being removed today, masks have also been made optional in most locations as well.

Disneyland Crowds

Disney California Adventure was considerably less crowded than Disneyland Park, but there were still plenty of visitors heading into the park.

Disney California Adventure Crowds

As we continue to make our way around the parks today, we’ll give you a look at the crowds we spot around the Disneyland Resort. And, we’ll keep you updated on everything you need to know about Disneyland, so stay tuned with DFB for more details!
