PHOTOS: Entrance Construction Hits a BIG Milestone at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
We’ve been keeping a close eye on the construction over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
The hotel is currently undergoing a major reimagining that involves changes to the entrance, monorail station, and even guest rooms. Recently, we’ve seen furniture being moved in as work progresses on the new rooftop. And now, we’ve got another update for ya!
Previously, the main entrance’s new rooftop element was sitting on the ground while the finishing touches were added. But now, it’s ON the building!
While there’s clearly more work to be done, the new main entrance is taking shape. We can even see that paneling that’ll add a pop of color to the exterior.
If ya need a reminder, here’s what the finished product will look like!
The construction is due to wrap up this summer, and we’ll keep you posted as we get closer to the finished product! As always, stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney news.

BREAKING: Face Masks Will Soon Be Optional in Most Disneyland Locations
Since Disneyland reopened, face coverings have been required for guests both indoors and outdoors.
However, as the parks continue with their phased reopening and prepare to open to out-of-state guests, we’re seeing policy changes. Notably, a BIG shift in mask requirements is coming soon.
Beginning June 15th, fully vaccinated guests will not be required to wear a face mask either indoors or outdoors. Guests who are not fully vaccinated are required to wear them indoors. And while Disneyland will not require proof of vaccination, vaccinated guests will need “self-attest that they are in compliance prior to entry.”
However, guests of any vaccination status WILL be required to wear masks on the bus transportation to and from the Toy Story parking lot, once that reopens on June 18th. This is similar to Disney World’s upcoming policy to only require face coverings on transportation.
June 15th marks a big day for Disneyland, as temperature checks will end then and out-of-state guests will be able to visit for the first time. We’ll be sure to bring you all the details as it gets closer. Stay tuned to DFB!

NEWS: The Creator of Some of Your Favorite Disney Jewelry Just Filed for Bankruptcy
You may be aware of Disney’s partnership with the jewelry company Alex and Ani.
We’ve seen tons of Disney-inspired Alex and Ani designs for sale throughout the parks, from Marvel to Toy Story to Minnie Mouse. They’re a fun way to rep your love for your favorite movies or characters subtly! But change is on horizon for the company.
According to Bloomberg, Alex and Ani has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. What does that mean? Well, the company will get a “relief from its obligations” (such as its rent payments, of which millions are due) while it restructures.
This “restructuring” involves putting Alex and Ani up for sale, although the company states that there should be “little to no disruption” in operations as we know it. Filing for bankruptcy comes in the wake of massive store closures due to the pandemic, management turnover issues, surplus inventory, and more — much of which was caused by Alex and Ani’s rapid and unprecedented growth.
If there truly is “little to no disruption” in operations, then we should see our favorite Alex and Ani bracelets still up for grabs in the parks. We’ll be sure to keep you posted if any further developments change that! As always, stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney news.

BREAKING: Fully Vaccinated Guests Not Required to Wear Face Coverings at Disneyland Starting Tomorrow
Beginning June 15, fully vaccinated Disneyland guests will no longer be required to wear a mask in most indoor and outdoor areas. This policy goes into place the day that the state of California is adopting the CDC’s updated guidelines stating those who have been vaccinated do not need to wear masks or practice physical distancing.
