The roof of the new porte-cochère at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has been installed after being constructed in front of the Monorail station. The roof is not completed, although most of the corrugated panels have now been covered in plywood. The roof was lifted into place on top of two rows of columns. A lift was next to the roof, but we didn’t see crew members working on it this afternoon. The columns and roof supports have all been painted […]
Disneyland has just announced that they are making changes for guests that will go into effect on Tuesday, June 15th, in conjunction with the reopening of California’s economy and recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
Below is the information you need to know if a visit to Disneyland is in the near future.
Guest Experience
We are excited to welcome out-of-state Guests beginning June 15, at which time we will discontinue the requirement for on-site temperature checks. The state has removed the physical distancing requirements with respect to Guests, so we will allow Guests to self-determine distancing.
Face Coverings for Guests
Starting June 15, face coverings will no longer be required for fully vaccinated Guests both indoors and outdoors. Guests (ages 2 and up) who are not fully vaccinated must continue wearing face coverings indoors, except when dining.
While Guests will not be required to show proof of vaccination, vaccinated Guests will self-attest that they are in compliance prior to entry. In addition, all Guests will need to attest that they are aware of the State of California’s strong recommendation that guests be fully vaccinated or receive a negative COVID-19 test prior to entering the theme parks when making their Disneyland Resort theme park reservations.
When the Toy Story parking lot reopens on June 18, all Guests (ages 2 and up) regardless of vaccination status will be required to wear an appropriate face covering while on the bus transportation from the lot to the parks.
Theme Park Reservations
As we continue to welcome Guests back to our parks, we will continue to do so through our reservation system, which was implemented due to capacity limits when the parks reopened.

We were makin’ our way through the Smugglers Run queue when we entered the pre-show room. But while Hondo’s voice was prepping us for our mission, something was missing — him!
Where’s Hondo?!
The space where the Hondo animatronic usually is had been covered up with a tarp.
Not here!
For context, here’s what it normally looks like!
Hiya, Hondo!
Hondo’s face flashed across the screens instead to give us our pep talk, but mid-way through, they cut back to to their traditional blue screens.
Blue Screens
Meanwhile, over at Rise of the Resistance, the Lieutenant Bek animatronic was missing from the end of the ride!
Where are you, Lieutenant Bek?!
You’ll pass by an empty escape pod instead.
He’s missing, too!
We’ve seen this happen before on rides such as Flight of Passage in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. We’re guessin’ Hondo and Lieutenant Bek are undergoing routine maintenance to make sure they’re in tip-top shape — they should be back up and running in no time. The rest of our rides went smoothly! Just don’t be surprised if they’re missing when you stop by.

Disney and collectible items are an iconic pair! Whether it’s pins, Dooneys, or ears — Disney has tons of limited items that Disney collectors love to hunt down!
Another hot item for Disney fans are collectible glasses! Glass sets, like this Mickey Mouse-themed collection, are a fun way to commemorate a trip or just celebrate your favorite character! My family used to collect tons of these to commemorate all our favorite trips to Disney! Recently, shopDisney released a brand new set of collectible glasses!
The Jack Skellington and Sally Pilsner Glass Gift Set is a romantic set of two glasses engraved with the faces of Jack Skellington and Sally Pilsner. The wooden case also features a tribute to undying love with its “Love you to death” carved on the side of the box. Although the set has a spooky tone, it can be used any time of the year!
You can get this glass set for $149.99 on shopDisney! The set includes two pilsner glasses, two cork coasters, a bottle opener, and an acacia wood case! We think the etching on the glass is subtle and a little bit hidden, so it isn’t too over-the-top and it won’t spook the kids (I used to be soooo afraid of Jack Skellington when I was little!).

The final audio-animatronic of Lieutenant Bek is currently missing from Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Bek usually appears in a crashed escape pod at the end of the ride. The lights inside the pod are still on and flickering, and Bek’s voice can still be heard, but his animatronic is gone entirely. Here’s what it looks like when Bek is in place. Watch a video featuring Lieutenant Bek’s disembodied voice […]
The Star Wars Framed Family Wall Artpulls inspiration from ALL your favorite characters (not to mention, it features lightsabers, which is SUPER cool). You can show your guests just how strong, brave, fearless, etc. your family is WHILE reminding them how you’re all practically Jedis. Pretty neat, right?
The art comes in a wooden frame with a sawtooth hanger for easy installation. Seems like it would make the perfect backdrop for your next Star Wars movie night! You can snag it for $36.99.
