12 DFB Reviews You Have to Read Before Going to EPCOT

Here at DFB, we believe that one of the most important aspects of a great Disney World vacation is the food!

Good food makes a good vacation!

If you’re headed to the parks and resorts, there are some really delicious options for mealsand some not-so-delicious ones. That’s why we’re constantly visiting Disney restaurants — to give you our honest reviews! And if you’re visiting EPCOT soon, then there are some DFB reviews we think you should read first.

Chefs de France

Starting things off in the World Showcase, Chefs de France is located in (you guessed it!) the France Pavilion and serves (you guessed it again!) French cuisine.

It’s a lovely spot for a date night!

On the menu, you’ll find everything from Beouf Bourguignon to Ratatouille, and there’s even a Prix Fixe option you can order!

Filet de Boeuf de Grille

We stopped by Chefs de France a few months ago after EPCOT reopened to see what had changed. Note that the prices have increased slightly since our review.

Gelateria Toscana

Craving dessert? Then you need to read our review of the brand new Gelateria Toscana in EPCOT’s Italy Pavilion!

Maybe you should add this to your list!

This gelato stand just opened up recently and they serve a variety of flavors and unique creations, including non-gelato desserts and coffee.

All the fooood

Especially if you’re planning to visit EPCOT during the summer months, you may want to stop here for the perfect way to cool off!

La Hacienda de San Angel

Over in the Mexico Pavilion, there are two main table service restaurants. The first of those is La Hacienda de San Angel, located outside of the pyramid on the edge of the World Showcase Lagoon.

La Hacienda de San Angel

Here you’ll find authentic Mexican cuisine with items like skillets, tacos, fresh corn tortillas, and a variety of margaritas.

GIANT Tostada!

This tends to be one of EPCOT’s more underrated restaurants, so it won’t be quite as difficult to snag a reservation here!

Le Cellier Steakhouse

Looking for somewhere a little fancier with high-end cuisine and a cozy environment? Head over to Le Cellier in EPCOT to get yourself a steak dinner with some spectacular Cheddar Cheese Soup!

Looking for something fancy? This is a great choice!

This restaurant is a popular choice among Disney fans for a date night, special occasion, or a “treat yo self” dinner.

New York Strip Steak

But is it really worth the amount you pay? Check out our review to find out!

Regal Eagle Smokehouse

One of the newer spots you’ll find in the World Showcase is Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue (it has quite the name!). This relatively new quick service replaced Liberty Inn and now serves up the most American food we could think of — barbecue.

What’s more American than barbecue?!

Want a burger on garlic toast? A bunch of different sauces for your pork? Homestyle mac and cheese?

Mac and Cheese

You can find it all here at Regal Eagle!

Rose & Crown Pub/Dining Room

Craving fish, chips, and a pint…but you’re looking for somewhere to sit and relax with a casual feel? Look no further than Rose & Crown in the UK Pavilion!

This is the place to go for those UK eats and drinks.

Here at Rose & Crown, you can either visit the Dining Room for a lovely table service experience, or you can head inside the Pub for a fun and upbeat atmosphere.

Rose and Crown Spread

And don’t forget to say hello to Carl the bartender!

San Angel Inn

And we’re back to Mexico to visit the other table service spot — San Angel Inn! This restaurant is modeled after the original San Angel Inn in Mexico, and the scenery is unlike any other spot in Disney World.

It’s a seriously cool setup in here.

Here, you’ll be dining inside the Mexico Pavilion pyramid, and while you eat you’ll be able to watch the shoppers in the market, as well as see guests floating by on Gran Fiesta Tour.

Queso Fundido San Angel Inn

You’ll feel like you’re outside no matter the time of day, and you may be able to enjoy some yummy eats as well!

Spice Road Table

If you’re wandering through Morocco and wondering where to eat, let us direct you to Spice Road Table for a quick bite! This lounge-style restaurant is home to various small plates and a seating area with a view.

It’s beautiful out here!

You could have a full meal here or just stop with some friends for a quick drink and shared snack, it’s up to you.

Spice Road Table

But before you do, make sure to read our review so that you know exactly what to order!

Teppan Edo

Even though you may be able to find them at home, hibachi restaurants are a great choice if you’re heading out to dinner with a group — who doesn’t love all the fun shenanigans?! And if you’re hoping to get that same experience in EPCOT, you can find it at Teppan Edo.

Stop by the Japan Pavilion to try this place out!

It’s not a particularly unique dining option, but it may be just what you’re looking for on your next trip.

Julienne Steak

Take a look at our review to see what we thought on our last visit!

Via Napoli

We’ll try not to spoil the review, but Via Napoli in the Italy Pavilion is one of our favorites for dining in EPCOT. This table service location serves up authentic Neapolitan wood-fired pizzas, pasta, and meat dishes that’ll make your mouth water.

We highly recommend this place!

But to visit here, you’ll want to snag up a reservation as soon as you can, because it’s very popular!

Pizza!!!

Those gigantic pizzas are a serious crowd-pleaser.

Garden Grill

And speaking of DFB favorites, let’s talk about Garden Grill. Located in The Land Pavilion, this spot has deliciously fresh food and fun character interactions with Chip, Dale, Pluto, and Mickey (in his farmer outfit!).

We love this character meal!

The restaurant even rotates slowly through scenes of the Living with the Land ride, so there’s plenty of fun to be had here.

Harvest Feast at Garden Grill

We think this one is definitely underrated as far as character meals go — just look at our review to see what we mean!

Coral Reef

And last but not least, there’s Coral Reef Restaurant in The Seas Pavilion. This is one of those dining locations that you don’t often hear about, but it has a really cool concept…you’re dining in an aquarium!

One of EPCOT’s unique restaurants!

You can choose from a menu of seafood options and watch the fishes swim by (which may seem just a tad weird…) while you chow down.

Chef Louis’ Lobster Seafood Boil

Those with little ones will probably enjoy this experience!

There you have it — the list of reviews you should check out before heading to EPCOT. There are so many great places to dine here that it could be hard to choose one! Stay tuned to DFB for the latest food news and reviews from all around Disney World.

Is Your Favorite Disney Restaurant Offering a Drink Special This Week?!

Father’s Day is coming in hot! It’s that time of year to celebrate the dads in our lives, and let’s be honest: he deserves a drink.

Father’s Day

In honor of all those hard-working fathers out there, select Disney World and Disneyland restaurants are participating in a promotion that includes specialty bourbon cocktails!

Dads love bourbon. It’s just science. Disney knows this.

Bacon and Bourbon Spiked Shake

Naturally, a good bourbon cocktail is an excellent way to toast to the patriarchs of the family, and in both Disneyland and Disney World, several restaurants are offering specialty Old Fashioneds as part of a week-long promotion with Patina Restaurant Group!

Morimoto Asia in Disney Springs

Each drink is a clever riff on an Old Fashioned! The Hard Day’s Work is made with caramelized fig syrup, black walnut bitters, and bourbon.

The adorably named Sweet Dad Joke is a tad sweeter thanks to Demerara syrup and black cherry!

©Patina Restaurant Group

We’re SUPER into the Honey Do List, made with bourbon, peach bitters, and balsamic-infused honey.

©Patina Restaurant Group

Then there’s the Liquid Patience, a fragrant and spicy medley of bourbon, spiced vanilla syrup, and cardamom bitters!

©Patina Restaurant Group

On both coasts, restaurants make the drinks with Garrison Brothers Small Batch Bourbon. At Downtown Disney in Disneyland, said restaurants are Naples Ristorante e Bar, Catal Restaurant, Tortilla Jo’s, and UVA Bar and Café.

Catal and UVA Bar

In Disney World, you can order these cocktails at Disney Springs restaurants Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar and Restaurant, Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante, Morimoto Asia, and The Edison. You can also try them at two Italian spots in EPCOT: Tutto Italia Ristorante and Via Napoli!

Via Napoli

Disneyland restaurants are running the special June 14th through June 20th, while Disney World’s cocktails are available TODAY through June 20th!

Can You Guess Which Rides Had the LONGEST Waits in Disney World Last Week?

When visiting Disney World, one thing you definitely want to be aware of is wait times!

Line starts here!

We’re constantly on the My Disney Experience app to check the stand-by wait times for rides (we need to know the SECOND Splash Mountain drops under 30 minutes!), especially because there still aren’t any Fast Passes in Disney World! There are attractions that almost always have really long waits, like Flight of Passage and Slinky Dog Dash, and those that you can usually walk on, like the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse. Let’s take a look at all the average wait times around Disney World this week!

Magic Kingdom

Let’s start in Magic Kingdom! Splash Mountain has been the reigning champ of the longest wait times for weeks, and it held its streak this week with an average wait time of 54 minutes! That adds up, as it’s been hot in Disney World, so people want to cool off!

Splash Mountain

Following close behind is Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at 51 minutes, then Jungle Cruise at 49 minutes. Jungle Cruise’s time went up 10 minutes from last week, which we suspect partially has to do with all of the new characters added to the ride! Rounding out our highest average wait times was Space Mountain at 40 minutes.

New rhino pole on Jungle Cruise

Rides in the 30s range included Pirates of the Caribbean at 34 minutes, Peter Pan’s Flight at 33 minutes, and Astro Orbiter at 30 minutes.

You can fly!

Down into the 20s, we had “its a small world” with a wait time of 23 minutes, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at 22 minutes, Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh also at 22 minutes, and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at 20 minutes.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

There were a bunch of rides with average wait times in the teens this week! Haunted Mansion averaged an 18 minute wait, Prince Charming Regal Carrousel was at 15 minutes, Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid was at 14 minutes, the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover was at 13 minutes, Mad Tea Party was at 12 minutes, Mickey’s PhilharMagic was at 12 minutes, and Dumbo the Flying Elephant was at 11 minutes.

Ghosts, come out to socialize!

Barnstormer featuring the Great Goofini, Tomorrowland Speedway, and Magic Carpets of Aladdin all had an average 10 minute wait this week.

Hey Goof!

Shorter wait times this week included Tom Sawyer Island at 8 minutes, Liberty Square Riverboat at 7 minutes, Carousel of Progress at 4 minutes, and Country Bear Jamboree, also at 4 minutes.

Liberty Belle

And if you didn’t want to wait at ALL this week, you could’ve found an average of no wait time at Enchanted Tiki Room and Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse.

EPCOT

Over in EPCOT, the longest wait times this week were Test Track at 55 minutes, Mission: SPACE at 49 minutes, Frozen Ever After at 45 minutes, and Soarin’ at 45 minutes.

Test Track

All the other attractions at EPCOT had waaay lower wait times! We had The Seas with Nemo and Friends at 15 minutes, Spaceship Earth at 13 minutes, Gran Fiesta Tour at 12 minutes, Living with the Land at 12 minutes, and Journey into Imagination at 10 minutes.

Sigh. What a beauty!

The theater shows in EPCOT all had zero waits this week! These included American Adventure, Awesome Planet, Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along, Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival, Impressions de France, and Reflections of China.

Hollywood Studios

Moving on to Hollywood Studios, topping out the wait times this week was Slinky Dog Dash at 65 minutes. After that, we had Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at 46 minutes, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster featuring Aerosmith at 44 minutes, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at 39 minutes, and Toy Story Mania at 33 minutes.

Whoa!

Tower of Terror has a lower average wait time this week at 28 minutes! Then we had Alien Swirling Saucers at 19 minutes, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue at 17 minutes, Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy at 15 minutes, Walt Disney Presents at 13 minutes, and Muppet Vision 3D at 10 minutes.

Hope the elevator works!

Hollywood Studios was busy! No rides or attractions had an average of zero wait time this week.

Animal Kingdom

And finally, in Animal Kingdom we had Avatar Flight of Passage with the longest wait time at 66 minutes (no surprise there). Then, significantly lower, we had Na’vi River Journey at 37 minutes, Kilimanjaro Safaris at 33 minutes, Kali River Rapids at 27 minutes, and Expedition Everest at 20 minutes.

Pandora

Dinosaur had an average wait time of 19 minutes this week and It’s Tough to Be a Bug was at 11 minutes.

Let’s go get that dino!

Rounding out the attractions at Animal Kingdom were Triceratop Spin at 5 minutes and Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail, which was at zero!

Have You Ever Been to Exploration Trail?

That’s our look at all of the average wait times in Disney World this week! Did any of these surprise you? Or are you tired of the same rides always having the longest waits?! Let us know in the comments! We’ll keep you updated on the average wait times each week, so stay tuned to DFB!

Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage Now Casting for Return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios

beauty-and-the-beast-live-on-stage-06

Internal casting has begun for off-stage roles at Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The show has been dark since March 2020, but some characters from the show performed in the short-lived Disney Society Orchestra and Friends before Disney unceremoniously dumped the long-time musicians. While internal casting has begun, this doesn’t necessarily mean the show will be back this summer. Sometimes it is months after these casting calls that a show debuts, so it […]
