There are an incredible number of iconic scenes in the Indiana Jones films, but perhaps none is quite as classic as the one where Indy approaches the Golden Idol and swaps it out for a bag of sand (and all kinds of danger and adventure ensues).

Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark

It’s been recreated in all kinds of places, including the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular in Disney World. Well, if you’ve always wanted to recreate that scene at home with your very own Golden Idol, Disney’s next item is for you!

Earlier today, Disney announced that you’ll be able to snag your very own replica of the Golden Idol (the Chachapoyan Fertility Idol) from Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark tomorrow (June 12th)! That’s one impressible looking idol!

BREAKING: Face Masks Will Soon Be Optional in Most Disney World Locations

We’ve seen a number of changes made in Disney World recently when it comes to face mask policies, social distancing policies, and more.

Flower and Garden Mask

Now, Disney has made another BIG change when it comes to masks in the parks.

According a recent update on the Walt Disney World website, changes will be made to certain mask policies and distancing procedures soon. Note that all of these changes are set to take place starting June 15th.

Masks

When it comes to masks, beginning on June 15th, masks will become optional for fully vaccinated guests in most areas in Disney World.

Face masks will, however, continue to be required for all guests (including vaccinated guests) on Disney transportation, including Disney buses, monorails, and the Disney Skyliner.

Disney will not be requiring proof of vaccination. But, Disney does note that they expect guests who are not fully vaccinated to continue wearing face masks in all indoor locations, and upon entering and throughout all attractions and transportation.

Festival of the Arts Mask

Keep in mind that these changes will NOT take place until June 15. Guests must continue to comply with Disney’s existing face mask policy until then.

Social Distancing

In terms of social distancing, Disney notes that they will be relaxing distancing guidelines. They note that this will be visible in places like queues, shops, restaurants, attraction boarding, transportation and our theaters.

Some experiences and entertainment may, however, continue to operate with limited capacity or be temporarily unavailable.

And Disney notes that while they’re not quite ready to bring everything back yet, they “look forward to the day when Disney pals and princesses are able to hug once again.”

Cleaning

In terms of cleaning, Disney notes that they “will continue the high standards for cleanliness and sanitation” they’ve set for themselves. Cleaning supplies and hand sanitizer stations will continue to be available.

Disney Updates Policy Making Face Masks Optional in Most Locations

Disney has been very intentional and gradual in their approach to COVID-19 health and safety protocols in the theme parks and resort hotels. Based on recent trends and guidance, Walt Disney World Resort will be making more adjustments to these measures, including physical distancing and face coverings.

Below is Disney’s update:

Beginning June 15, you will start to notice the following changes:

FACE COVERINGS
Face coverings will be optional for fully vaccinated Guests in most areas. Face coverings will still be required of all Guests on Disney transportation, including Disney buses, monorails and Disney Skyliner. While we will not require proof of vaccination, we expect Guests who are not fully vaccinated to continue wearing face coverings in all indoor locations, and upon entering and throughout all attractions and transportation. Guests must observe current policies on face coverings until June 15.

PHYSICAL DISTANCING
We will be relaxing physical distancing guidelines for Guests. This will be visible in places like queues, shops, restaurants, attraction boarding, transportation and our theaters. It’s important to remember that some experiences and entertainment may still be operating with limited capacity or may remain temporarily unavailable. We’re not quite ready to bring back everything yet, but we are optimistic and look forward to the day when Disney pals and princesses are able to hug once again.

CLEANING
We will continue the high standards for cleanliness and sanitation we’ve always set for ourselves. Cleaning supplies and hand sanitizer stations will still be available.

Disney is encouraging people to get vaccinated.

Disney After Hours BOO BASH Dates in October Selling Out FAST

If you’re hoping to attend Disney After Hours BOO BASH in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World during October this year, you might want to purchase your tickets sooner rather than later.

As we previously reported, Halloween night’s event is already sold out and we’ve just learned that two additional dates in October broke the 80% sold threshold as of Thursday. Those dates are October 5th and October 12th.

There has been a lot of controversy about this event, with folks comparing it to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Still, Disney has labeled this as an “After Hours” event which is very different from the hard-ticketed parties held at Magic Kingdom. “After Hours” events have had far lower crowds in attendance, and Disney has advertised shorter wait times for this event as well.

It’s important to note that tickets are not yet available for the general public – those go on sale Tuesday, June 15th.
