Addition of “Standby” to Wait Times in My Disney Experience Suggests FastPass May Return Soon

Since Walt Disney World reopened last year, FastPass+ service has been suspended due to COVID-19. However, with physical distancing changes and more, we may see the convenient line-skipper return soon (altered to a paid-format per the long-standing rumors, but nothing is confirmed yet). A My Disney Experience app update also points to the return of FastPasses. The word “standby” has been added to the posted wait times in the app, suggesting there is (or will be) an option other than […]

PHOTOS: Distancing Markers Removed From Interior Mexico Pavilion Queue at EPCOT

mexico-pavilion-queue

When physical distancing was implemented at Walt Disney World, the Mexico Pavilion in EPCOT faced a particular challenge being almost entirely indoors. A queue with physical distancing was utilized for entering the temple building. Distancing markers were recently removed from the exterior portion of this queue, and have now been removed from the interior. The queue takes up most of the entryway of the temple, which houses a Coco exhibit. The stanchions of the queue have also been moved to […]

What’s New at EPCOT: Mickey Scuba Dives and Harmonious Construction

Hello from EPCOT, DFB friends!

EPCOT

We’re taking you with us as we visit the park for the latest in construction, merchandise, and more. Let’s get started!

EPCOT Construction Updates

We’ve been closely following the progress on EPCOT’s new fireworks show, Harmonious. And recently, we spotted a light being installed on one of the barges!

More Harmonious construction!

Disney hasn’t announced when this show will debut, but we’re keeping an eye out for any updates.

Check Out the Latest Harmonious Construction!

EPCOT Merchandise Updates

We also noticed that the new “Arivederci Minnie Mouse” MagicBands have been restocked in the Italy Pavilion!

It’s BACK!

They cost $39.99 each, and there are only 500 of ’em. If you’ve got your eye on one, you’ll want to grab it soon!

Take a Closer Look at These MagicBands!

EPCOT Additional Updates

It seems like rope drop has returned to normal in EPCOT. On our last few visits, guests were being held at the entrance of the park instead of trickling in a little bit at a time, as they’d been doing the last few months.

That’s a LOT of people!

This is more along the lines of what rope drop looked like pre-COVID. Still, we were let inside the park about half an hour before the official opening time.

Check Out Photos and Videos from Our Experience Rope Dropping!

We also spotted the newest PhotoPass spot in the park. Check out that Tiny World camera!

It’s the new Magic Shot!

Here’s what the Magic Shot looks like.

Pretty neat, right?

And of course, what’s a trip to Disney World without running into some characters?! We saw Mary Poppins in the United Kingdom Pavilion

Hi, Mary Poppins!

…and Scuba Mickey in the Seas Pavilion!

It’s SCUBA MICKEY!

He was greeting guests in full scuba gear to celebrate World Ocean Day.

Check Out Our Encounter with Scuba Mickey!

Social Distancing

We spotted several social distancing changes throughout the park. At Regal Eagle Smokehouse in the American Adventure Pavilion, tables no longer have social distancing stickers — guests can sit at any of them.

And next door, rows are no longer blocked off at the American Adventure Show.

All rows are open!

The same is the case for the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along in the France Pavilion…

Same here…

…as well as Canada Far and Wide in (ya guessed it) the Canada Pavilion. We’ll keep an eye out for more changes like this in EPCOT and the other parks!

…and here!

And that wraps up our quick trip to EPCOT! We’ll be back with MORE news from Disney World soon, so stay tuned to DFB.
