sleeping-beauty-castle-featured-4404484

New face covering guidelines released today by California may change the way guests experience parks like Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, and Universal Studios Hollywood. The June 15 changes end mask mandates for fully vaccinated individuals in most locations. The new guidance allows those who are fully vaccinated to go maskless outdoors and indoors. The guidance goes on to state that those who are unvaccinated must continue to wear face coverings indoors. Additionally, masks are required for unvaccinated individuals in indoor public settings and […]

REVIEW: The Latest Disney World Pride Treat Packs a PUNCH

Walt Disney World has been celebrating Pride in style this month!

Pride flight!

From rainbow ears to Mickey plushes, there has been a TON of Pride merch in the stores all over property. We’ve also seen some special photo ops and tasty rainbow treats! And now there’s another Pride item for you to try, so let’s check out what we found in Disney Springs!

Amorette’s Patisserie is known for whipping up some incredible themed desserts, and they have a special treat for Pride this month! Check out the Paradise Pride Pastry!

Display in Amorette’s

The pastry is a salted caramel spiced mousse, coconut mousse with passion fruit center, and whipped passion fruit ganache!

So colorful!

It comes with rainbow pearls, a tropical flower, and a decorative rainbow heart on top!

The flower is such a fun touch!

The strongest flavor in this treat is definitely passion fruit! Then after that you taste the caramel.

A bit messy!

The mousse texture is super creamy, which is great, but we could’ve used a few more pearls on top for some texture!

A few more pearls would be great!

We also didn’t taste any coconut at all, which was strange!

Coconut, where are you?

If you’re passionate about Pride and passion fruit, we think you’ll LOVE this new treat! Get it for $7 at Amorette’s. However, if you don’t love passion fruit, stay away! The flavor will probably be overwhelming for you.

Fun dessert for Summer!

Also, if you have a texture issue with mousse, you’re probably better off getting something like a cake from Amorette’s!

Cruella Petit Cake from Amorette’s

Overall, we think the Paradise Pride Pastry is such a pretty dessert for pride and the flavors are great for summer! Head on over to Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs to try it!

The Disney Store Has Updated Its Mask Policy — Get All the Details Here

A LOT has been going on with Disney Stores this year.

Disney Store

Not only have we seen many Disney Store locations being closed, but like at Disney Parks, health and safety guidelines have also started to change for guests visiting the stores.

The official Disney Store website has updated its language regarding the use of facial coverings in its stores. It now reads “Appropriate face coverings required for everyone two years and older.” However, it also states “Fully vaccinated guests may shop without a face covering, unless required by local regulations.”

©Disney

However, social distancing guidelines remain the same — guests and their groups must maintain six feet of distance between themselves and other groups. At Disney World, though, guests must still wear their masks indoors at all times (as well as in ride lines), although they can take them off when outdoors or when eating and drinking while stationary.

We’re continuing to track all the changes at Disney Stores and at the parks, so stay tuned for more details!

Heads Up! The Tweed and Pearl Ears Are BACK in Disney World

Ear collectors! We’ve got an exciting update.

Mint Minnie Ears!

Disney World is constantly comin’ out with new ears, but a fan-favorite seems to be that Tweed and Pearl pair from a while back. These were available online for a little bit, but now they’re sold out! That means they were prettyyy hard to find…until now.

We were browsing through Discovery Trading Co. at Disney’s Animal Kingdom today when something caught our eye.

Is that what we think it is?!

SURPRISE! The Tweed and Pearl Ears were BACK in stock! These are a gorgeous black pleather with little Mickey-shaped pearls, and they’re $29.99.

They’re BACK!

We’ve also recently seen these at Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. But be warned: they’re probably gonna sell out FAST! So hurry and grab them if you can. And stay tuned to DFB for plenty more Disney news and updates!

How and Where to Order a Melon Colada in Disney World!

It’s almost summer, y’all!

Barefoot Pool Bar at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

That means time to hit the water parks, eat ice cream, and indulge in frozen drinks all over Disney World. And we’re on it!

And speaking of frozen drinks, it’s the perfect time of the year (as in, it’s hot in Florida and we need to cool down) to hit up a pool bar and to see what kind of new frozen concoctions are on tap for 2021. And we found a refreshing drink at the Barefoot Pool Bar at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Meet the Melon Colada!

Cheers to summer!

This drink is made with Piña colada mix, watermelon syrup, Midori melon liqueur, and a sugared rim.

Yum!

And although the coconut and pineapple flavors from the Piña colada mix are strong, the melon flavor shines through with each sip. And the sugar rim offers just the right amount of sweetness.

Refreshing!

Here’s the thing, though — you may need to be a fan of Piña coladas to really appreciate this drink, so if you’re not, keep that in mind.

With a pineapple and cherry on top!

But for $13, we found it the perfect way to chill out and take a break from the summer heat. Note that this isn’t on the menu, but they have the ingredients, so it’s something they can make! Just ask. 😊 And we’ll let you know about other summer treats we find at Disney World!

8 Booths That Aren’t Returning to the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival This Year

As the 2021 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival draws to a close, it’s time to get prepped for the Food and Wine Festival!

EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival

It’s kicking off this year in July (just like last year!) and we can’t wait to get back in the groove of what is arguably the biggest EPCOT event of the year. There are going to be several activities, some amazing entertainment, and SO MUCH food. But, if you’re hoping to come back and eat some of the things you loved last year, you should know that there are 8 2020 booths that aren’t returning to this year’s festival!

Africa

Last year, the Africa booth at the Taste of EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival served up some flavorful eats with options like the Spicy Kenyan Vegan Corn and White Beans and Piri Piri Skewered Shrimp.

Africa is getting replaced with Kenya this year.

While the Africa booth won’t be returning this year, we’ll be getting the new Kenya global marketplace instead. Disney has said that the Kenya booth will serve “traditional Kenyan food and beer,” which is pretty vague, but still sounds exciting!

Citrus Blossom

No lie. We’re not really sorry to see Citrus Blossom go — it was the festival booth that just wouldn’t die! It premiered at the 2019 Flower and Garden Festival, then came to last year’s Food and Wine festival to add a little more spring flair. (Since last year’s Food and Wine Festival started out as a combination of the two festivals.)

We really thought this booth was a permanent EPCOT resident…

But, it ended up sticking around for 5 festivals in a row! (From Flower & Garden 2020 through Flower & Garden 2021!) It was fun while it lasted, but we’ll be happy to keep Citrus Blossom at Flower and Garden Festival where it belongs.

Desserts and Champagne

Do you remember those incredibly popular Liquid Nitro Cake Pops at last year’s festival? You could find them at the Desserts and Champagne booth in World Showplace, but sadly, that spot won’t be returning this year.

Liquid Nitro Chocolate Cake Pops from the Desserts and Champagne Booth

Besides the cake pops, all the booth served was a frozen s’mores drink and a few different champagne selections. We’re not sure if these pops will return to a different booth this year, but we’re excited to try out the new options in World Showplace next month!

Islands of the Caribbean

Last year’s Islands of the Caribbean booth served up Ropa Vieja Empanadas, Jerk-Spiced Chicken, and Flancocho. During the festival, the booth ended up being unexpectedly closed several times throughout the festival.

Islands of the Caribbean

We later found out that Disney was only opening Islands of the Caribbean during the festival’s busiest days.

Mac and Cheese

Talk about comfort food to the MAX — last year’s Mac and Cheese, Hosted by Boursin Cheese booth was definitely a fan-favorite. So why isn’t it coming back this year? Well, it kind of is, kind of isn’t.

Mac and Cheese Food Booth

This year, the booth replacing this one is called Mac & Eats and will not be hosted by Boursin. According to Disney, here you’ll be able to “Discover macaroni-and-cheese combos your mom never imagined!” It sounds pretty interesting…maybe we’ll get some truly unusual pasta options on this menu!

Morocco

While the traditional Morocco booth won’t be at the 2021 Food and Wine Festival, the Morocco Pavilion won’t be left without! This year, you’ll find Tangierine Cafe, Flavors of the Medina instead.

Morocco Booth

Oddly enough, Tangierine Cafe is the name of the quick service restaurant in the pavilion that has been closed for many months now. We’re interested to see if this booth includes any menu items from that restaurant or even if it’s located inside the restaurant itself, so stay tuned to DFB for the details!

Waffles

Last year’s Waffles booth was a late addition to the festival, and the menu was filled with (you guessed it) a variety of fancy waffle options.

Waffles Booth

While there won’t be a booth dedicated to waffles in 2021, you will be able to pick some up at the Belgium global marketplace that opens on October 1st. There, you can get a fluffy Belgian waffle or a beer-braised beef dish — something for every taste!

Wine and Dine Featuring Festival Favorites

And last on our list of booths that aren’t returning is Wine and Dine Featuring Festival Favorites. It seemed like this booth was brought to last year’s festival since it was kinda a combo festival. It served a few different options from booths that didn’t make the cut.

Wine and Dine Festival Favorites

But since this year’s event seems to be going back to full-scale in terms of food choices, it looks like we won’t be seeing this booth. In its place, we’ll be getting some of our old favorites back, so we can’t complain!

Those are all the booths that won’t be returning to this year’s festival. Stay tuned to DFB for the latest Food & Wine Festival coverage, leading up to and during the event!
