Umm….YES! You’ve Gotta Try the New Pineapple Upside-Down Shake in Disney World

Summer means new sweet treats around Disney World!

Watermelon Dole Whip

We’ve seen watermelon dole whip, key lime cupcakes, and orange dole whip swirled with vanilla soft serve! These sweets are sure to help you cool down in the hot Florida heat, and we just found a new treat that screams summertime!

Check out the Pineapple Upside-Down Shake from Restaurantosaurus in Animal Kingdom!

Oh my YUM

It’s a Vanilla Milk Shake with Pineapple-Caramel Sauce, Cake Crumb-coated Rim, Pineapple Wedge, Whipped Cream, and a Cherry on top!

Pineapple Upside-Down Shake

The caramel sauce actually has pieces of pineapple IN IT. Can you say YUM?!

The sauce goes alllll the way to the bottom!

This shake was SO GOOD. The pineapple flavor is great for summer!

Pineapple is perfect for summer

The cake crumbs on the rim are attached by whipped cream, so when you take a taste, it seriously does taste like you’re eating cake!

Definitely not a crummy dessert!

However, we DO think it could use a bit more pineapple flavor. If the milkshake itself was pineapple instead of vanilla, we think it would be outstanding. Don’t get us wrong, it’s DELICIOUS, we just would rather a pineapple shake over a vanilla shake with some pineapple flavor.

oooo so photogenic!

It’s a bit pricey at $8.99 but it was a delicious way to cool off.

Drink up!

Overall, this is an awesome treat for the summer! But if you hate pineapple, obviously steer clear, the flavor is definitely there. We can’t wait to see what other fun treats pop up around the parks this season, so stay tuned to DFB for more!

The Metropolitan Museum Is Getting Its FIRST EVER Disney Exhibit!

Disney just announced that a Disney-themed exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City!

©The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Met has never hosted a Disney exhibit, so this is set to be the first EVER in the iconic art museum! The exhibit will showcase a unique perspective on Walt Disney’s animation and sources of inspiration for his work.

Coming this December 10, 2021, the Met will host an exhibit called Inspiring Walt Disney: The Animation of French Decorative Arts.

The exhibit will be focused on the influence of European art and architecture on Disney’s art and films, including such classics as CinderellaSleeping Beauty, and Beauty and the Beast. Each film has different European inspiration, with Gothic architecture for Cinderella, medieval art and buildings on Sleeping Beauty, and Rococo-inspired decorations and furniture in Beauty and the Beast.

Cinderella’s Castle was inspired by Gothic architecture.

In the Cinderella part of the exhibit, female artists who came to Disney Studios and heavily influenced the style of the films of that period will be featured, including Bianca Majolie and Mary Blair. The Beauty and the Beast‘s 30th anniversary is next year, and the exhibit is featuring this as a large part of the story of Walt’s fascination with European art. The gorgeous ballroom scene, Rococo-style ornaments brought to life, and the song “Be Our Guest” will all be a part of this section.

Beast in Be Our Guest

Inspiring Walt Disney: The Animation of French Decorative Arts wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the iconic Disney castles found in the theme parks. This section will look at how the Imagineers took inspiration from French and German architecture, not only for the castles themselves but for the theme parks in general!

Sleeping Beauty’s Castle

With 150 pieces of production artwork from the Disney Studios displayed with 40 pieces of art from 18th-century European artists and designers, this exhibit should be an amazing look into Walt Disney and where his visionary ideas came from. It’s at the Met in New York City from December 10, 2021 to March 6, 2022!
