NEWS: Disney World Changes Photo Policy Regarding Guests’ Phones

Lots of things have changed in Disney World recently.

Taking Guest Photos

Fully vaccinated Cast Members are no longer required to wear masks when working indoors or outdoors, fully vaccinated guests are not required to wear masks in most locations in Disney World, pre-shows are back in many spots, and even single rider lines are becoming available again. Today we spotted ANOTHER change that has been made, specifically with regards to Cast Members taking guest photos!

Throughout Disney World’s reopening, PhotoPass photographers have been taking guests’ photos but Cast Members have not been able to hold a guest’s phone or other device to take a photo using the guest’s own device. That, however, seems to have now changed.

This morning, we spotted Cast Members taking photos of guests with those guests’ own devices. So it seems Cast Members are once again able to hold a guest’s phone or camera to take photos of that guest when asked.

Cast Member Taking Photos with a Guest Device

We expect more changes will continue to be made regarding Disney World’s distancing policies and more over the coming weeks and months as more distancing measures are reduced. We’ll continue to keep an eye out for more updates and let you know what we find.
