FIRST LOOK at the Reopened Sebastian’s Bistro in Disney World!

More and more restaurants are starting to reopen in Disney World!

Sebastian’s Bistro

Recently, we learned that ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will reopen next month and now there’s a reopened dining option over in Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. And, of course, we had to stop by to give it a try!

As of June 24th, Sebastian’s Bistro has reopened for nightly walk-in guests at the resort. The walk-in service will be available through July 4th, when reservations officially begin on July 5th. So, what exactly does it look like to walk up to a Disney World restaurant?

Atmosphere

When we first arrived at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, we noticed that there weren’t many people hanging around the restaurant.

Inside Sebastian’s Bistro!

We were able to just walk in and sit down! Not busy at all!

Food

And then it was time to eat! Sebastian’s Bistro now features a brand new family-style dinner, meaning all of the food will be brought to your table in large portions for the table to share. When we got to the table, we scanned the QR code for the menu!

The meal had a flat price with add-ons available!

Although the menu was limited, there were still plenty of options, including plant-based platters.

Once it’s time to dig in, the food will be brought directly to your table, so there’s no need to get up to go anywhere — just sit down and enjoy! Our meal started with buttery house-baked pull-apart rolls.

The rolls!

We then got The Spice Necklace Salad, the Taste of the Caribbean platter, and we had to try the Taste of the Caribbean Enhancement and chose the coconut shrimp option! It was more than it worth it — there was plenty of shrimp and it was delicious!

The Coconut Shrimp from the Taste of the Caribbean Enhancement

With the Taste of the Caribbean platter, the table shares oven-roasted citrus chicken, slow-cooked mojo pork with mango sambal, and grilled flank steak with mojito relish, with a side of cilantro rice and beans, vegetable curry, and grilled broccolini.

No meal would be complete without dessert (at least in our books), and they’ve got that too! It’s the coconut-pineapple bread pudding!

Well, that was one big meal! If you’re hoping to visit the restaurant once reservations are available, you can already start booking now. Or, just walk up like us through July 4th. And, of course, we’ll be bringing you a full review of our meal here soon, so stay tuned to DFB!

Here’s When Construction Is Set to Begin on the Airport Train to Disney World

In case you missed it, there will be a train that connects the Orlando International Airport and Disney World!

Would You Take a Train to Disney World?©Brightline

Starting in 2022, Disney’s Magical Express is being discontinued, and although there is a new bus service from Mears on the way, this train is another way to get from the airport to Disney World. We’ve been keeping an eye on the progress and any announcements for the upcoming train, but now we have more information about when construction on the new Brightline Train could start!

Originally, the Brightline train connecting Orlando International Airport and Disney World was supposed to be complete in 2023. Since then, it has pushed back its completion timeline to 2026! And, according to the Orlando Business Journal, work on the train segment from the airport to Disney Springs “could get started by first-quarter 2024.”

©Brightline

This was said by Brightline at a recent presentation to Orange County, and it all depends on “if the Miami-based intercity rail provider gets the necessary approvals, construction on the first segment.” They also mentioned that the remaining track that will go on to Tampa would begin construction in the second-quarter of 2025. If construction does in fact start in 2024, the train could be on track for a 2026 opening.

So if you’re looking forward to the Brightline Train option, you’ll still have to wait several years. Brightline still has to get the segment of train from the airport to Disney World approved before construction can begin, but we’ll continue to keep you updated  as we learn more!

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway may not pull into the station until 2023, but construction is chugging along at Mickey’s Toontown in Disneyland. The whimsical façades are no more as work continues on the Toontown buildings. Watch a crane in action near the former Five & Dime: Watch a short video showing the demolition so far: The […]

PHOTOS, VIDEO: Storybook Land Canal Boats Soft Reopens at Disneyland Park

storybook-land-canal-boats-16

The Storybook Land Canal Boats had a soft reopening today ahead of its full reopening on June 27. Earlier this month, we saw Cast Members in training at the attraction, which did not reopen with the rest of the park on April 30. Hand sanitizer is available at the attraction entrance. Physical distancing ended on June 15, so there are no markers in the queue and guests freely crowded together. Boats are being filled to capacity with no dividers. The […]
