Eating in EPCOT’s Japan Pavilion May Cost You MORE on Your Next Trip

Things are constantly changing in Disney World — new mask rules, distancing changes, menu updates, and more.

Things Are Changing!

One thing we’ve seen quite a bit of lately are price increases. We’ve seen price increases impact everything from Wishables plushes to some fan-favorite snacks. Recently, we noticed some price increases and menu changes have been made at 2 EPCOT restaurants (one of which is still temporarily closed)!

Love eating in the Japan pavilion in EPCOT? Maybe Teppan Edo is your favorite spot or you just can’t get enough of Tokyo Dining (and are hoping it reopens very soon). Well, if these are some of your favorite spots to eat at, you’ll want to be aware that dining at these places might cost you a little MORE during your next trip!

That’s right, price increases have made their way over to Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining recently (as well as a few menu changes) and we’re breaking it all down for you here.

Teppan Edo

Here’s a look at some of the price increases we’ve spotted at Teppan Edo:

  • Spicy Calamari appetizer — increased from $10 to $12
  • The Filet Mignon has gone up in price from $38 to $45 (and a few changes have been made that are mentioned below)
  • The NY Cut Steak has gone up in price from $34 to $40
  • The Julienne Steak has gone up in price from $35 to $41
  • The Salmon has gone up in price from $32 to $36
  • The Ebi (10 grilled shrimp) has gone up in price from $30 to $33
  • The Tori (8oz boneless chicken breast) has gone up from $30 to $32

Tori

  • The Hotate (cold water ocean scallops) has gone up from $37 to $44
  • Yasai (seasonal vegetables) are now priced at $26, up from $24
  • The Asakusa combination (steak and shrimp) is now priced at $44, up from $37
  • The Nihonbashi combination (steak and chicken) is now priced at $43, up from $36
  • The Ueno combination (chicken and shrimp) is now priced at $42, up from $36

Spicy Calamari

  • The Wagyu Strip add-on is now b (up from $79)
  • The Lobster Tail add-on is now $31 (previously was $29)
  • The Hotate (scallops) add-on is now $30 (increased from $24)
  • The Kids’ Tori (chicken breast) entree option is now $16 (up $1 from its previous price at $15)
  • The Kids’ Salmon entree is now $18 (up from $16)
  • The Kirin beer is now draft beer at 20oz and is priced at $11.10 (previously it was $9.50)
  • Sapporo Premium beer also now specifies that it is 20oz and priced at $11.10 (previously $9.50)
  • Asahi Draft also notes it is 20oz and $12 (previously $9.75)

VIolet Silk Martini

  • Kirin Light (12oz) is now $8.00 (previously $7.50)
  • The Premium Beer tasting has gone up to $16 (previously was $15)
  • The Dassai 45 Junmai Diaginjo (sake) is now $39 (as opposed to $38)
  • The Jun Tenzan Junmai (sake) is now $36 (as opposed to $35)

  • The Mojito is $12 (previously $11)
  • Some wine prices have increased too including the Hakutsuru Plum Wine (bottle is $39 now, previously $38; glass is $11, previously $10); Kris Pinot Grigio (bottle $39, previously $38; glass $11, previously $10), and other similar price increases for a few of the other wines

Here are some of the menu changes we’ve noticed:

  • The menu now lists a Wagyu Short Rib dish as an appetizer — it’s braised in soy ginger glaze with curry carrot sauce, crisped garlic, and fried turnip — $27
  • The Spicy roll now notes that it is made with seaweed wrap and does not mention that it contains sesame oil
  • The Filet Mignon used to be served with a sunomono salad, but now it notes that it is served with a garden salad. The menu also now specifically states that it is a 6oz tenderloin USDA choice.
  • The NY Cut Steak also notes that it’s served with a garden salad (as opposed to sunomono salad) and udon noodles as well (in addition to the vegetables and steamed white rice)

Julienne Steak

  • The Julienne Steak, Salmon, Ebi, Tori, and Hotate (scallops) all note that they are now served with a garden salad instead of the sunomono salad.
  • The Yasai seasonal vegetables note that they are served with garden salad and udon noodles now (instead of the sunomono salad)
  • You’ll generally find that many other entrees have also changed to remove sunomono salad and are now served with garden salad (and potentially udon noodles and vegetables as well)

Sunomono Salad

  • The Tsukiji combination (scallop and steak) has been removed from the menu
  • You can also now get a Wagyu Filet (3oz) as an add-on for $90
  • Kids entrees no longer include the option of a Julienned Steak
  • It seems most of the sake are no longer served in a carafe, but now the menu specifies that they are 8oz servings or other specific serving sizes. One of them continues to note, however, that it is served in a carafe.

Teppan Edo chef

  • There are some premium liquors now listed on the menu — specifically the Haku Vodka ($13), Roku Gin ($13), and Legent Bourbon ($15)
  • There is some Japanese whiskey listed on the menu now too — specifically, Kaiyo (single: $25, double $35); and Tiki (single: $15, double: $23)

Tokyo Dining

Even though Tokyo Dining is temporarily closed, we’ve spotted some changes on its menu too. The main price increases here appear to be with regards to the drinks menu. Here’s a look at some of them:

  • The Kirin beer is now draft beer at 20oz and is priced at $11.10 (previously it was $9.50)
  • Sapporo Premium beer also now specifies that it is 20oz and priced at $11.10 (previously $9.50)
  • Asahi Draft also notes it is 20oz and $12 (previously $9.75)
  • Kirin Light (12oz) is now $8.00 (previously $7.50)
  • The Premium Beer tasting has gone up to $16 (previously was $15)

Japan Pavilion

  • The Dassai 45 Junmai Diaginjo (sake) is now $39 (as opposed to $38)
  • The Jun Tenzan Junmai (sake) is now $36 (as opposed to $35)
  • The Yatsushika Tokubetsu Junmai (sake) is now $25 (previously was $24)
  • The Sho Chiku Bai Unfiltered Nigori (sake) is $19 (up from $18)
  • The Ozeki Hot Sake Junmai (sake) is now $13 (up from $12)
  • Some wine prices have increased too including the Hakutsuru Plum Wine (bottle is $39 now, previously $38; glass is $11, previously $10); Kris Pinot Grigio (bottle $39, previously $38; glass $11, previously $10), and other similar price increases for a few of the other wines

Tokyo Dining

  • The Tokyo Sunset cocktail is now $13 (previously $12)
  • The Mojito is $12 (previously $11)

Here’s a look at some of the menu changes we’ve spotted at Tokyo Dining:

  • It seems most of the sake are no longer served in a carafe, but now the menu specifies that they are 8oz servings or other specific serving sizes. One of them continues to note, however, that it is served in a carafe.

Tokyo Dining reopening
