Salt & Straw

Every month, we look forward to finding out what new seasonal flavors will be added to the menu. In the past we’ve seen very unique scoops of ice cream inspired by bowls of cereal, holiday flavors, and yes, even Thanksgiving turkey. Just in time for summer, we now have several new BOOK-inspired flavors.

Salt & Straw’s “Rad Reader Series” introduces FIVE new unique flavors inspired by popular children’s book authors!

Salt & Straw’s “Rad Readers Series”

This month, Salt & Straw’s “Rad Readers Series” includes Goosebumps: Monster Blood is Back! based on author R.L. Stine. This ice cream flavor features “streaks of citrusy, shiny green goo” along with “hunks of deep red strawberry bark.”

You can also check out Geronimo Stilton & The Frosted Frozen Feast, inspired by author Geronimo Stilton. According to Salt & Straw, “salted caramel takes on an even saltier side when paired with parmesan-steeped cream, made rich with mascarpone cheesecake and crumbles of buttery cracker crust for one fabumouse flavor.”

Smile: Words & Pictures, based on the works of author Raina Telgemeier. This graphic novel-inspired flavor combines vanilla ice cream with yellow and pink almond-infused sponge cake and stracciatella “pencil shavings.”

Up next is Amulet: Fruit of the Gadoba Tree, inspired by author Kazu Kibuishi. According to Salt & Straw, this flavor uses “otherworldly flavors of cacao nibs by steeping them in sweet cream, then culminates with dollops of our kitchen’s real life concoction of the mysterious, juice “Gadoba” fruit.”

Last but not least, you can try Twins: A Matching Pear w/ Twinnamon Swirl, inspired by authors Varian Johnson & Shannon Wright. As the name implies, this flavor combines their “housemade cinnamon-laced cream cheese throughout a sweet and fragrant pear ice cream.
