PHOTOS: Family-Style Reopening Menu Released for Trail’s End in Disney World

Guests waiting to hear about the reopening date for Trail’s End Restaurant at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort were in for a treat this afternoon! This fan-favorite dining location will officially reopen on July 17th!

Trail’s End Restaurant

While we are THRILLED to see another dining location reopen at Disney World, we have to sit down and talk about what the menu is going to look like when Trail’s End reopens — cuz it’s not exactly what you remember!

Let’s take a look at the breakfast menu first. Like other buffets around Disney World, Trail’s End has been converted to a family-style meal that will cost you $19.99 per adult and $11.99 per child, plus tax and gratuity. That will get the table an Oven-fresh Pastry Basket, Berry-Granola-Yogurt Parfait, as well as a Breakfast Skillet! Plant-based versions are also available.

The Breakfast Skillet will include Smoked Brisket and Eggs, Mickey Waffles, Bacon and Sausage and Cheesy Potato Casserole served with Table Syrup. This is pared back a bit from their old buffet menu, which in the past included their Pulled Pork Benedict, Bread Pudding, Biscuits, and Sausage Gravy, Fresh Fruit, Sausage, Bacon, Breakfast Pizza, Breakfast Hash, Cheese Grits, Oatmeal, and Vegetable Frittata. Yeah, that’s QUITE a few items missing!

What about dinner? Also converted to a family-style meal, dinner will cost you $29.99 per adult and $17.99 per child, plus tax and gratuity. Dinner includes Oven-fresh Bread Basket, a Chopped Salad, a Smokehouse Skillet, and a Covered Wagon Sundae.

The Smokehouse Skillet is a Pecan-smoked Brisket with Rotisserie Chicken Andouille, Fingerling Potatoes, Green Beans, Buttered Corn on the Cob with Chipotle Barbecue and Carolina Mustard Barbecue Sauce. Sorry, Fried Chicken fans, your favorite friend protein seems to have vanished from the menu!

If you are looking for Trail’s End Restaurant’s signature Half-slab Memphis-rubbed Pork Spare Ribs, Peel-n-Eat Shrimp Boil, or Cornbread-crusted Salmon, those will be available as an add-on to your dinner for an additional $9.99, $8.99, or $7.99, respectively.

But what about that Covered Wagon Sundae? The dessert is described as a Wagon Load of Ice Cream, Toppings, Brownies, Cookies, and Chocolate-covered Bacon!” When you look at the photo of this Covered Wagon Sundae Disney provided in their announcement, it looks awfully familiar…

…could this be the return of Whispering Canyon’s 10-Gallon Challenge? We’ll have to wait and try it for ourselves to compare the two!
