Review: Where to Find the Cookie Dough Filled Cupcake in Disney World

Happy June!

Tree of Life

It’s already been a busy month in Disney World. We’ve been celebrating Pride Month with plenty of sweet treats, but that doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten about Father’s Day! That’s coming up SOON, and Disney’s already rolling out the eats for the occasion.

If you remember the Mother’s Day cupcake that popped up in Disney’s Animal Kingdom last month, you won’t be surprised that the Father and Son Cupcake looks pretty similar! But while it is a basic vanilla cupcake, it’s got a chocolate chip cookie dough filling and is topped with caramel frosting. Sounds interesting, right?! The whole thing is decorated with a white chocolate disk and flower-and-grass frosting.

Father and Son Cupcake

The vanilla cake is your basic, everyday Disney cupcake: it’s dense and fluffy, but nothing too special. As for the caramel frosting? Well, we didn’t really taste the caramel. It screamed super-sweet vanilla grocery store frosting to us!

It’s Bambi and his dad!

But we DO need to talk about that cookie dough filling, because it was good. The flavor is spot-on, and it has granular pieces just like raw cookie dough does! Our only complaint here is that there weren’t too many chocolate chips in, ya know, the chocolate chip cookie dough.

Here’s a look at the inside!

Overall, this cupcake was okay. It was sickly sweet, and it tasted pretty much like any ol’ vanilla cupcake. The exception was the cookie dough filling (which was actually pretty tasty!), so if you’re a HUGE cookie dough fan or you just wanna see what that frosting tastes like, you may want to snag this treat.

We found a chocolate chip!

If you want to give it a try, head over to Restaurantosaurus or Flame Tree Barbecue in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The cupcake will cost ya $5.99 — but hurry, because it’s only available for a limited time! And stay tuned to DFB for plenty more Disney news and reviews.
