According to multiple reports, single rider lines are beginning to reopen at Walt Disney World. Members of our DVC Fan Facebook Community have confirmed witnessing single rider lines being utilized at some attractions. This comes as no surprise since as of June 15, 2021, Disney World has lifted the mask requirement for both indoor and outdoor areas. The only current exception is that all Disney transportation (busses, boats, monorails, Skyliner, etc.) still requires masks.
A sense of normalcy has certainly returned to The Most Magical Place on Earth as was evident when we stood in line for the Jungle Cruise on Wednesday. Distancing markers were gone and guests were in close quarters with each other once again “filling in any and all available space.”
As of now, guests’ reports are that Smugglers Run and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios and Test Track at EPCOT are using their single rider lines again with more on the way. The availability of single rider depends on the posted wait time. For example, when regular standby was 30 minutes or less at Smuggler’s Run yesterday, the single rider line was closed. The return of this option is good news for wait times and for those who are willing to ride separate from their party with little to no wait. It is likely more attractions will follow suit.
We are continuing to watch for more operations to return to Disney World as they continue to reopen attractions, restaurants, and resorts. Stay tuned to wdwinfo.com for the latest news and updates.
