EPCOT is an amazing park for food, even as many restaurants remain closed in the park.

Luckily, EPCOT is home to festivals that go almost year-round and rarely leave us wanting more when it comes to food. Right now we’re chowing down at the foodiest festival of all during our visits, the 2021 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival! But we still miss those spots that aren’t opening until October. Well, good news! It looks like a World Showcase table service spot could return soon.

Nine Dragons Restaurant has been closed in EPCOT since the park reopened but now, there have been some menu changes online, leaving us wondering if we can expect a reopening announcement soon!

We noticed a LOT of changes to both the Lunch and Dinner menus at Nine Dragons and we’re gonna take you through all of them.

Appetizers & More

Let’s start by taking a look at the appetizers! Several options have been removed from both menus including the Plum-infused Tomatoes, Treasure Spring Rolls, and Pork Belly Bao Buns. Both menus have also seen the addition of Crispy Duck Bao Buns for $13!

There have been a few price increases to appetizers as well. The Chicken Pot Stickers went from $7 to $8.50, the Vegetable Spring Rolls went from $5 to $5.25, and the Side of Vegetable Egg Fried Rice went from $4 to $5.25.

On JUST the Dinner menu (not Lunch!): General Tso’s Chicken Bao Buns, Chicken Dumpling Consommé, and Spinach Noodles have been removed. The Dinner menu House Hot and Sour Soup now has shrimp and has seen a price increase from $5 to $7.95.

Nine Dragons Family Dinner

The Nine Dragons Family Dinner was a meal deal that was available prior to the closures and is now completely unavailable.

We’ll be on the lookout for this experience to return.

Entrées

Both menus saw a price increase on the Canton Pepper Beef from $20 to $24. This was the only change to the Entreés section of the Lunch menu but the Dinner menu saw MANY more changes.

The following dishes have all been removed from the Dinner menu: Kung Pao Chicken, Spicy Mala Beef, Spicy Mala Chicken, Five-spiced Fish, Nine Dragons Fried Rice, and Roast Duck Salad. 

But some dishes have been added too! You can now get Crispy Duck Fried Rice for $25, Kung Pao Duo Chicken and Shrimp for $25, Spicy Mala Happy Family for $25, and Kowloon Spare Ribs for $30.

Dinner menu-only price increases have hit a few items. The Honey Sesame Chicken went from $20 to $23, the Spicy Honey Crispy Chicken went from $20 to $23, the Salt and Pepper Shrimp went from $24 to $27, and the Vegetable and Tofu Stir Fry went from $17 to $18.

Desserts

On to the Desserts! Both menus have seen the removal of the Banana Cheesecake Eggrolls and the Chinese Ginger Cake.

Good news though! This section had a teeny-tiny price decrease. The Strawberry-Red Bean Ice Cream and the Caramel-Ginger Ice Cream have both gone from $4.28 to $4.25.

Kids’ Appetizers

Kids’ Appetizers was only a section on the Dinner menu and the entire section has been removed! That means the kids’ portions of Pot Stickers and Vegetable Spring Rolls are no longer available.

Kids’ Entrées

On both menus, there have been a few price increases to the kids’ meals. The Honey Chicken Nuggets went from $7.98 to $8.98, the Sweet-and-Sour Shrimp with Lo Mein Noodles went from $8.98 to $9.98, and the Kid’s Deluxe went from $10.98 to $11.98.

Kids’ Desserts

Like the Kids’ Appetizers section, the Dinner menu Kids’ Desserts section (which consisted of the Strawberry-Red Bean Ice Cream and the Caramel-Ginger Ice Cream) has been completely removed.

Specialty Cocktails

The Specialty Cocktails section has changed on both menus. The Shanghai Fusion and Heavenly Clouds have been removed.

The Ginger Zinger is now made with Lemon-Lime Soda instead of Ginger Ale and all three cocktails (the Ginger Zinger, South Sea Breeze, and Jade Beauty) have seen a price increase from $10.50 to $12.50.

Frozen Daiquiris

Interestingly, the Frozen Daiquiris section has been completely removed from the Dinner menu but remains on the Lunch menu. We’re not sure why the drinks would be available at lunch and not dinner so it’s possible this is a mistake. We’ll keep an eye on it!

Beer

One beer has been removed from both menus, the Lucky Buddha, and the Tsingtao Pilsner saw a price increase from $7.75 to $8.50.

This is the only beer available on the menu currently.

Non-Alcoholic Specialties

The smoothies on both menus are now called slushies and have seen a price increase from $5.75 to $6.25. You can still get Strawberry, Mango, or a combo of the two called Shangri-La. Non-Alcoholic Specialties that have been removed include the Hainan Sunrise, Iced Chai Tea, and Hot Chai Milk Tea.

Soft Drinks and More

Both menus saw the addition of the Fresh Brewed Iced Green Tea (Unsweetened) for $4.75 and the removal of the Blackberry Jasmine Iced Tea (Unsweetened) and the Iced Coffee.

There have been a LOT of Soft Drinks and More price increases. They include:

• Assorted Coca-Cola Soft Drinks went from $3.99 to $4.75
• Raspberry Iced Tea (Sweetened) went from $3.99 t0 $4.75
• the Variety of Fruit Juices went from $3.25 to $5
• Lowfat Milk went from $3.25 to $4.25
• Chocolate Milk went from $3.25 to $4.25
• Hot Chocolate went from $3.25 to $4.25
• Coffee regular or decaffeinated went from $3.25 to $4.25
• Hot Jasmine Tea went from $2.65 to $3.95
• and Perrier Sparkling Bottled Water went from $3.95 to $5.

Whew! That’s a lot of price increases.

Wines

The wine list on both menus saw the removal of the Chardonnay Kendall-Jackson, the Beaujolais-Villages Georges Duboeuf, the Cabernet Sauvignon Kendall-Jackson, and the Madeira Cossart Gordon. There have been the additions of Cabernet Sauvignon Borne of Fire, Washington (Bottle for $62.00 or Glass for $14.00) and the Conundrum Red Blend, California (Bottle for $52.00, Glass for $12.00).

Those are all the menu changes we have right now, but we’ll make sure to update you if we get any more news from Nine Dragons! We’ll be looking out for a possible opening date, so stay tuned to DFB.
