EPCOT Monorail Unexpectedly Closed Two Days After Reopening

One of the most classic ways to travel around Disney World (and one of our favorites!) is the monorail.

The EPCOT Monorail is BACK!

There are two theme parks with monorail service at Disney World — Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. While the Magic Kingdom monorail loop has been running since the reopening, the EPCOT monorail line just reopened the other day after being closed since March 2020. And now, just 2 days after reopening, it’s already closed again!

When we stopped by EPCOT this afternoon, we noticed this sign out in front of the monorail station.

What’s going on?

Disney hasn’t shared any information on this closure or how long it will last. We’ll make sure to check back in on it tomorrow to see if it’s running.

Fingers crossed that this closure doesn’t last long!

This reminds us a bit of the closure of the PeopleMover in Magic Kingdom. Just a few days after being open for a year-long refurbishment, the ride experienced issues and had to be evacuated.

We’ll be on the lookout for more details.

We’ll let you know if we receive any updates on the monorail, so stay tuned to DFB. We’ve got the latest Disney parks news to share with you!
