Full Tour: NEW ‘Moana’ Rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

We’ve been counting down the days until Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort officially reopens.

We’re glad to be here!

In the meantime, we’ve been checking out all the other reopenings at the resort, including Oasis Bar and Grill, ‘Ohana (for breakfast AND dinner), and Kona Island (did someone say candied bacon?). But we’ve been impatiently waiting for a chance to check out the new Moana-themed rooms at the hotel.

And today is the day! We’re spending the night in one of the new rooms at the Polynesian, and we can’t wait to show you around.

We’re ready to check out our room!

The fun new Moana details actually start before you even get inside the room!

Even the hallway is magical!

There are new patterns in the hallways on the carpet…

What a fun carpet design!

…the artwork…

It’s a volcano!

…and all around! We even spotted a few hidden characters.

We found Hei Hei.

We were able to enter our room using the My Disney Experience app. If you’re logged into the app and your reservation is linked, you can use it to unlock your door when it’s time to check-in. What a handy feature!

And once we stepped inside, we were NOT disappointed.

Okay, we’re VERY excited to stay here!

What a BIG transformation this is! New furniture, new artwork, and a theme that we’re quickly falling in love with — we think we’re going to really enjoy our visit here. There are lots of different textures, patterns, and details. Some of which you kind of have to hunt for, so let’s get started!

This is a whole new look!

Let’s start with the bed. Here, we’ve got some brand-new bedding with patterns and textures to fit the Polynesian look.

Don’t these beds look comfy?

Disney really thinks of all the details!

The pillows fit right in as well and add a nice pop of color. We could totally see ourselves walking in here after a long day and just plopping on this bed.

What a cute floral pattern.

The nightstands have plenty of outlets, light controls, and the middle table is home to the phone and some important hotel room information.

They’ve got the essentials.

And we can’t forget about the lighting! We love the pattern it has going on. Just look at those little waves.

This main light is super cool!

Moving on to the main seating area of the room, we’ve got this super colorful couch!

Plenty of room on the couch.

It even has Moana-themed pillows!

Everything coordinates so well!

With the coordinating side table and the massive accent wall, this is the perfect spot for an Insta-worthy photo op.

We definitely want to take a pic here later!

And speaking of the accent wall, it has some really cool details of its own. Scenes and patterns from the film…

The artwork is amazing!

…fan-favorite characters…

Hey there, Maui!

…and even a hidden Mickey. (A Disney resort room wouldn’t be complete without one!)

See if you can spot the Mickey on your visit!

There’s also a seating area for one on the opposite wall.

Another little seating area.

How interesting are these accent tables?

And you’ll be right next to the window!

Disney really went deep in the details with the patterns and textures here. The touches are evident in the furniture…

Even the dresser has a cool texture.

…the artwork…

Make sure to check out the artwork.

…and even the curtains.

These are beautiful curtains!

The bathroom is just as spectacular. Here, you’ll find an updated shower with its own hidden details.

There are even ‘Moana’ touches in the shower!

Don’t use up all the hot water while you’re admiring the handiwork! 😉

Seriously, that’s cool.

The sink area has also been fixed up. There are double sinks, so two people can get ready at once.

Isn’t that helpful?

You’ll find ample storage, both under the sink…

Lots of storage under here.

…and in the room with the toilet and shower.

They have special towel storage.

This is definitely one of the nicer resort room bathrooms we’ve seen!

It’s so nice in here!

Back in the main living area, you’ll be glad to know that the room has a coffee maker. (And Hei Hei is standing by to say hello!)

This little coffee area will be very useful on those early mornings.

There’s also a closet to store all your hanging clothes. It’s fairly large for a hotel room!

This is a pretty big wardrobe area.

And a mini-fridge will help keep your snacks and beverages cold throughout your stay.

It’s a teeny tiny fridge, so don’t bring too much.

And last but not least, the room comes with a lovely balcony area. Depending on which floor you’re on, it may be a patio.

What a nice place to sit in the morning.

Our room had a great view!

What a pretty day!

So far, we’re very impressed with these accommodations. The colors are vibrant and make us feel like we have stepped into a beachy getaway. We’ll make sure to keep you updated as we stay the night and let you know of anything else that’s important about this room.

We’re ready to have a great evening!

And that’s what the new Moana rooms look like at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. As always, stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney news!
