How to Pack and Plan for the Weather in Disney World Next Week!

It’s midsummer in Disney World and we GOTTA talk about the weather!

Magic Kingdom

If you’re headed to Disney World next week to explore the 2021 EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival or just the parks in general, you’re probably gonna want to know the weather in advance. Well, we’re here to help! Let’s dive into the weather forecast for next week in Disney World and some tips for having a GREAT time!

Weather Forecast

Summer is a rainy time and last week we got a BIT of a break from the daily downpours in Orlando. Still, it’s pretty hard to avoid those afternoon storms and we want you to be prepared for the week ahead!

EPCOT

According to The Weather Channel, it looks like we won’t be so lucky with escaping the rain this week but the weather doesn’t seem too bad! Let’s take a look at what’s in store for next week in Disney World!

July 19th

Monday, July 19th will start the week with the warmest temperatures. Like the rest of the season so far, this week has pretty consistent temperatures with less predictable precipitation. Monday is going to max out at an 89-degree high and we’ll see 75 degrees at night.

We’re looking at a mix of sun, clouds, and storms on Monday. Keep in mind that the UV Index is marked as extreme so it’s important that you lather up with some sunscreen!

July 20th

The next day, July 20th brings us a slightly cooler forecast to the day before with a high of 88 degrees during the day and a low of 75 degrees.

Get used to the scattered showers and thunderstorms this week! They’re more or less the norm during the summer and this week is no different!

July 21st

On Wednesday, July 21st, we’re going to see temps hang out in about the same place at 88 degrees during the day and 75 degrees at night.

Keep an eye on that humidity. This day has a whopping 90% humidity in the nighttime so that might have an effect on your comfort levels. High humidity can make it feel hotter than it is and can have you feeling sticky.

July 22nd

For Thursday, July 22nd, we’re seeing a day that might be one of our best chances to miss out on the rain. Expect temps in the high-80s and a beautiful evening at 76 degrees.

There ARE scattered storms in the forecast, but scattered storms are just that. You might not end up running into the rain if you’re lucky! Fingers crossed you stay dry!

July 23rd

And Friday brings us another beautiful, potentially rainless day! We’ll see high-80s in the day and a mid 70s night on July 23rd.

Friday brings us the lowest chance of rain for the whole week. Now, there is still a chance, so don’t leave that rain layer at home — but you might be able to leave it tucked safely in your park bag!

July 24th

Saturday, July 24th brings us a return to rainy afternoons with a high in the mid-80s. Of course, all of these rain chances are subject to change (Florida is a fickle, fickle place.), so keep an eye on the forecast!

Here, we’ll see an 86-degree high and a 75-degree low.

July 25th

And we’ll wrap up our week on July 25th with about the same temperatures we’ve been seeing in this forecast and similar conditions. Get ready for high humidity and UV levels and afternoon showers.

Bonus! The days are still pretty long in July (even if they are getting a touch shorter). The sun rises around 6:45AM each day and sets around 8:20PM. That gives it plenty of time to get dark before fireworks!

Overview of the Week

Here is a full overview of the week according to The Weather Channel. Temperatures are projected to hang out in about the same place for the whole week. We’re looking at a range of mid to high 80s highs and mid 70s lows.

As we said, remember to keep checking the forecast as you lead up to your trip. Those temperatures and rain chances can and WILL change as we get closer to the day and the forecast gets more accurate. You don’t want to get caught with a surprise because you didn’t check the weather before heading out for the day.

Tips for Weathering the Weather!

We’ve got you covered with some tips to help you out with next week’s weather!

Be prepared for the intense sun!

Florida has the unfortunate quality of having VERY intense UV levels most days in the summer. The levels can work to dehydrate you, tire you out, and leave you sunburnt. The best defense? Plan ahead!

Mint Bucket Hat

We recommend wearing hats and sunglasses when you can, lathering up with SPF (AND relathering as needed), and drinking a LOT of water. On top of all that sun, you’ll likely be walking a lot more than you typically do. If you feel like you need to take a break in the AC, DO IT. Trust us, pushing it is NOT worth getting sick in a Disney park.

Be prepared for the rain!

Another negative about the summer in Florida is that you can always assume there will be rain — you just never know WHEN. The best way to contend is to always be ready for a shower or storm to crop up out of nowhere. So, keep that rain layer handy!

Storm Clouds!

Beyond that, we recommend riding your must-ride outdoor attractions EARLIER in the day. Storms tend to pop up in the afternoon and can close outdoor attractions. You don’t want to miss out on your favorite ride due to lightning.
