NEWS: Disney Cruises to Alaska Might Resume Sooner Than We Thought

With Disney World and Disneyland both moving closer and closer to being fully reopened, we can now start to think about other aspects of Disney that have yet to fully reopen, like the Disney Cruise Line.

The Disney Wonder

Today, we heard about another development regarding Canada’s cruise ban that moves us closer to seeing the Disney Cruise Line back in action.

On July 15th, the Canadian government announced that it has decided to lift restrictions earlier than scheduled, with cruise ships being able to set sail and make port in Canada as soon as November 1st, 2021. Initially, Canada extended the cruise ban through 2022, but now the date seems to be moving up a bit.

According to the Canadian government, the cruise industry is exceedingly important to their economy, bringing in $4 billion and 30,000 jobs annually.

Now that it is possible to port in Canada and travel through Canadian waters, Disney’s Alaskan cruise trips can set sail in 2022. Previously, Disney Cruise Line would’ve been unable to travel to Alaska unless they completely avoided Canadian waters.

In the past, we reported that Disney Cruise Line had removed all Alaskan cruises from its lineup. However, that might change given this new information. With Very Merrytime Cruises coming back and the Disney Wish gearing up for its maiden voyage next year, we wouldn’t be surprised if Alaskan cruise reservations started popping up for the 2022 season.

If a new batch of Alaskan cruises does open up for next year, we’ll be here with all the details and news.
