Time to add another tally to the list of restaurants we get to welcome back from their lengthy closures!
Trail’s End Restaurant has reopened at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and we are READY to get our family-style eatin’ on. Trail’s End started serving family-style breakfast and dinner again today. Though we don’t get to reunite with our beloved fried chicken, we’re still pretty excited to eat some of this comfort food. Let’s take a first look at a reopened Trail’s End for dinner!
When we arrived at Trail’s End, we checked in for our reservation using the Mobile Dine Check-in on the My Disney Experience app and soon enough, we were headed to our table.
At our table, we could scan a QR code to access the menu or request paper menus from our server.
As we mentioned, dinner here is now served up FAMILY-STYLE as opposed to the buffet-style from prior to the closures. In general, we’ve considered the switch to family-style an improvement. As for drinks, Trail’s End has plenty of options like Non-Alcoholic Mocktails, Cocktails, Wine, Beer, and Bourbon. There was a cocktail menu on our table…
…which led us to order the Gullwhumper! This drink is made with Ole Smoky White Lightnin’ Moonshine and Peach Schnapps with Pineapple and Cranberry Juices.
Now it’s time for the food!
We’re back at Trail’s End for dinner! Here’s what we’re having:

Next up, you’ll get to enjoy a Chopped Salad.
The salad comes with a cup of warm Bacon Vinaigrette!
Then, it’s time for the main course! The Smokehouse Skillet features Pecan-smoked Brisket, Rotisserie Chicken Andouille, Fingerling Potatoes, Green Beans, and Buttered Corn on the Cob with Chipotle Barbecue and Carolina Mustard Barbecue Sauce. Basically, pack your eating pants.
Finally, you’ll round out your meal with the Covered Wagon Sundae — a Wagon Load of Ice Cream, Toppings, Brownies, Cookies, and Chocolate-covered Bacon! Although the covered wagon is listed on the menu, the sundae comes in a cowboy hat which reminded us of the 10-Gallon Challenge!
We’ll be bringing you a FULL REVIEW of dinner at Trail’s End soon and we’ll keep an eye out for MORE reopening restaurants! Check back to stay in the loop!
