Planning for the 90 Degree Days in Disney World Next Week!

It’s summertime in Disney World and you know what that means!

EPCOT

We’re talking sun, heat, storms — the usual for an Orlando summer. If you’re headed to Disney World soon, you’ll want to keep an eye on that weather for when it comes to packing your bags. So, let’s take a look at the forecast for next week in Disney World!

Weather Forecast

We’re pretty much in the hottest part of the year for Disney World right now. Just look at last week’s temperatures! Days are humid and that means can really feel sometimes be above 100 degrees! Whew!

Magic Kingdom

According to The Weather Channel, we’re not getting a break from those temperatures just yet. Let’s see what the start of August will bring when it comes to Disney World weather!

August 2nd

Monday, August 2nd will start the week with those HOT temperatures that we wish we were getting used to. No matter how much we sweat we don’t seem to get any more comfortable in above-90-degree Orlando!

Get ready for a 92 degree high and a 77 degree low. Plus, like most summer days, August starts with scattered thunderstorms appearing in the afternoon. Snag that rain layer when you leave for the park if you wanna stay dry!

August 3rd

The next day, August 3rd, cools down JUUUUUST a little bit to a high of 91 degrees and the same low at 77 degrees. We’re not sure you’ll feel too much of a difference from the day before though!

Check out that UV Index! Most days in the summer, Orlando hits an Extreme UV Index which can be super hard on your skin! Make sure you lather up with sunscreen and keep an eye out for any developing burns.

August 4th

On Wednesday, August 4th, we’re going to see temps inch down just a little bit more to the high 80s during the day and the mid-70s at night. Ooh! A respite from the 90s! Be warned though, this is still pretty toasty.

Part of the reason Disney World feels SO hot is that high humidity. This week we’re mostly going to see humidity levels above 70%!

August 5th

For Thursday, August 5th expect a similar day with a high temperature of 90 degrees and a low temperature of 76. And, as you might have noticed, you’ll probably see storms almost every day (if not every afternoon!).

One bonus about summer is that it means looooong days. That means more daylight for your park day! In early August, the sun tends to rise around 8:15AM and set around 6:20PM.

August 6th

This week’s temperatures are pretty consistent as you can tell. Friday we’re seeing another day right at a 90 degree high and a 76 degree low on August 6th.

Even though winds don’t seem so high, they do have a tendency to pick up right before a storm. And, with storms so regular an occurrence, be ready to deal with the potential gusty afternoon (just like Winnie the Pooh’s blustery day on The Many Adventure of Winnie the Pooh!).

August 7th

Moooving on to Saturday, we’re seeing another day with (SHOCKER) warm temperatures and a chance of afternoon showers and storms. Just keep in mind that rain chances are subject to change!

August 7th has a high of 89 degrees and a low of 76 degrees.

August 8th

Finally, we wrap up the week on August 8th with the same temperatures as the day prior and a slightly lower rain chance.

At least the forecast is consistent! Springs and Autumns in Orlando can be characterized by VERY variable weather, but the summer is pretty easy to pack for with similar days.

Overview of the Week

Here is a full overview of the week according to The Weather Channel. Temperatures are projected to hang out in about the same place for the whole week. We’re looking at a range of high 80s to low 90s highs and mid to high 70s lows.

Tips for Weathering the Weather!

Now for some tips to help you weather next week’s weather!

Stay comfortable in the rain!

So you MIGHT not get caught in a shower, but odds are you’ll be seeing some rain next week. To prep for this, make sure you pack a rain layer in your bag! There’s nothing worse than getting soaked through in the middle of your Disney day.

Time to leave?

Our biggest tip here is actually to be mindful of your shoes! If you’re wearing sneakers and socks, you might not have a great time trekking through the Florida buddles. Wearing sandals or even bringing a change of shoes can be a major comfort-saver!

Stay safe in the sun!

Hot and high UV Level days are more than just uncomfy — they’re DANGEROUS too. If you’re not from a place where the sun gets really intense, you might not be used to the ways the intense sun can affect you. That’s why it’s important to prevent burns, sun sickness, and heat exhaustion!

Protect yourself from the sun while you park hop!

Dress for the weather! The best thing to wear is actually lightweight, longer garments to keep the sun off your skin! If you do wear short sleeves, make sure you apply and reapply that SPF. Plus, it’s SUPER important to stay hydrated when the sun gets so hot!
