REVIEW: Are Docking Bay 7’s New Menu Items Worth the Trip to Galaxy’s Edge in Disney World?

Bright suns! We’re back at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge for some new eats!

Galaxy’s Edge

Earlier today, we learned that Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo unveiled new menu items, so we hopped over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to try them out for ourselves!

Since it first opened in 2019, Docking Bay 7 has been known for unique, “out of this world” dishes, and this new lineup of entrees (plus one dessert) lived up to that reputation! But are these items worth ordering on your next visit? Let’s dive right in!

Check out the new spread at Docking Bay 7!

First up is the Batuuan Beef and Crispy Topato Stir-fry. This dish is Smoky Braised Beef glazed in Tamarind Sauce and served with Stir-fried Vegetables, Crispy Herbed Yucca, Pickled Onions, and Cilantro.

The Herbed Yucca were nice and crunchy, but the other veggies weren’t as memorable.

We think the Batuuan Beef may pair better with other sides from Docking Bay 7…and we put that theory to the test!

You can customize your side if you would prefer Docking Bay 7’s tasty Macaroni and Cheese!

The macaroni and cheese is a GREAT side dish for any entree at Docking Bay 7, so if veggies aren’t your thing (we totally understand), you can request the mac & cheese instead! Regardless of which side you choose, the Batuuan Beef costs $19.99.

Yes, adults can order a side of mac & cheese!

Next up is the Pirjanad Hot Chicken Tip Yip! This spicier dish is Crispy Chicken (think their Fried Endorian Chicken) glazed in a Spicy Chipotle Sauce and served with White Rice and a Relish of Sweet Corn, Shishito Peppers, Jicama, Plantains, and Cilantro.

Pirjanad Hot Chicken Tip Yip

We were actually surprised at how much heat this dish had! Typically, Disney World’s “spicier” dishes aren’t that spicy at all, but this one definitely had a decent kick to it!

The Blueberry Corn Muffin pairs wonderfully with the spiciness of the Hot Chicken!

We would totally get this dish again, especially if we could pair the hot chicken with their mac and cheese. The Hot Chicken Tip Yip costs $15.49.

We also ordered the Roasted Endorian Chicken Salad.

Roasted Endorian Chicken Salad

If you’re looking for something on the lighter side, this dish comes with Marinated Chicken, Mixed Greens, Shaved Onion and Radish, Grapes, Tomato, and Cucumber in a Lemon-Pomegranate Vinaigrette with Spiced Yogurt Drizzle.

If you’re on the hunt for good Disney World salads, definitely add this one to your list! It’s more on the light side compared to other salads we’ve had in Hollywood Studios. We loved the Lemon-Pomegranate Vinaigrette and we would TOTALLY dig having that Spiced Yogurt Drizzle as a side to dip ALL of our food in. The salad costs $13.99.

If you’re looking for more options that are on the lighter side, you can try the Peka Tuna Poke!

Peka Tuna Poke

This dish is Raw Tuna tossed in a Spicy Sriracha Dressing and served with Green Papaya Salad, Pickled Mushrooms, Fresh Herbs, and Crispy Garlic.

Peka Tuna Poke

It almost goes without saying, but if you aren’t a tuna fan, you’ll want to steer clear of this dish. That said, this dish, like the Hot Chicken, has a decent amount of heat to it, so if you’re a spicy foods fan and you’re into raw fish, you may really enjoy the Poke! We had a hard time locating the garlic flavor in this dish, unfortunately. The Poke costs $17.99.

For dessert, we grabbed the Outpost Puff. This sweet treat is a Chocolate Pastry filled with Guajillo Chocolate Mousse and Green Milk Sauce finished with Thai Tea Panna Cotta, Spiced Pineapple and Confectionary Debris.

The dessert was actually our least favorite dish of the ones we ordered today! We found our pastry to be a bit on the stale side, but we enjoyed the other components of this dish.

We actually really liked the Thai Tea Panna Cotta, but unfortunately that lovely flavor was drowned out by the sheer amount of chocolate in this dish! We found that it didn’t come together in the end; if you’re curious to try it for yourself it costs $6.99.

Outpost Puff

If you’re taking a trip to Batuu soon, there’s an entire assortment of new goodies to try at Docking Bay 7! There’s a solid variety of options here, from lighter dishes like the Salad and Poke to more substantial dishes like the Batuuan Beef. There’s even a new dessert if you have a sweet tooth!

But don’t worry, some of the classic favorites are still available as well, like the Fried Endorian Chicken Tip Yip. We’ll be on the lookout for more new menu items at Disney World, so stay tuned for the latest news and updates!
