REVIEW: The Green Gator Cocktail Is a LOT to Handle in Disney World

The Flavors of Florida event started today in Disney Springs featuring food, merchandise, and entertainment inspired by the sunshine state!

Key Lime Pie Shake

We’ve been going through Disney Springs trying a lot of the food items, like a Key lime donut, a Key lime shake, and a Key lime cookie and cake (can you tell which fruit Florida is pretty proud of?). There are also drinks inspired by the state at some restaurants, and we tried one today that will make your teeth ache!

This is the Green Gator from House of Blues in Disney Springs! It’s made with Siesta Key toasted coconut rum mixed with melon liqueur, simple syrup, and pineapple juice. Just look at that neon color!

The Green Gator

This drink was INSANELY sweet! It tasted like liquid sugar. We had a hard time getting past the sweetness to even taste the actual flavors of the drink.

That’s bright!

Once we did, we could taste the coconut and the melon, which was strong. We noticed the flavors tasted pretty artificial, and the aftertaste of that lingered!

This gator bites!

We really didn’t enjoy anything about this drink. It’s sickly sweet and there wasn’t even a fun garnish! We don’t think people who like super sweet tropical cocktails would even love this, but we could be wrong! If there wasn’t alcohol in the drink, a kid might enjoy the sweetness, but it’s a lot to handle!

We couldn’t finish this one!

The Green Gator was just waaaay too much for us, especially for $12! You can find MUCH better cocktails like the Spiked Dole Whip in Disney Springs! We’ll be coming to you with more food reviews from Flavors of Florida soon, so stay tuned to DFB!
